Peverelist’s sharp, ear-catching style as a DJ and producer has placed him at the vanguard of forward-thinking club music. His unique take on the soundsystem tradition draws on techno, jungle, dub, grime and garage in pursuit of a sound that’s uplifting and innovative. From his early releases and first label Punch Drunk through to the establishment of Livity Sound in 2011, Pev’s helped represent Bristol’s ever-evolving independent electronic music scene internationally. More than a decade in, Livity Sound now stands as one of the key global benchmarks for a hybridised dance music which draws on inventive approaches to rhythm and melody. Through successive albums and EPs Pev’s developed a singular production style which balances delicacy and spaciousness with maximum presence, while his DJing teases the edge between horizon-expanding new music and a keen instinct for what makes people move. If there is such a thing as a ‘Livity’ sound, it stems from this artistic approach. Unbound by genre, exploring percussive patterns and holding true to the fundamental principles of great soundsystem music, Pev’s trajectory continues to bring us untold surprises from the cutting edge.Their RA profile lists Skull Disco, Tectonic Recordings, Punch Drunk, Hessle Audio and 2 more.Recently at Fitzroy, Tresor / Globus

Raised in San Francisco and based in Berlin, the DJ, producer and composer is known for her deep and atmospheric sound that pulls from the niche recesses of techno. Originally trained as a classical cellist, Chloe left the conservatory at 18 when she discovered electronic music, moving to Berlin shortly thereafter to immerse herself in the city’s burgeoning techno scene. The confluence of these worlds has forged her textural approach to techno and inspired her to return to her instrument. Today, she uses the cello to write full-length ambient, electroacoustic live shows as well as deconstructed tones and timbres that help form the unique character of her releases for the dance floor. Chloe is a resident DJ at Tresor and has played widely across Asia, Europe, and North and South America, becoming known for driving and hypnotic sets that dig deep into the niche recesses of techno. She has releases on Tresor, Mord, Blueprint and Falling Ethics alongside Oscar Mulero. Her debut instrumental full-length came out on James Ginzburg’s Subtext label in November 2024, which she currently tours as an AV show, Oneiris. Beyond the studio, Chloe curates, hosts and produces interviews for Resident Advisor, and programs the publication’s talk programming and workshops at festivals like Atonal, Nuits Sonores, Dekmantel, Unsound, Rewire and many more.Their RA profile lists Tresor, Blueprint Records, Mord and Falling Ethics.Recently at Tresor / Globus, Kantine am Berghain, SAGE · often with TRESOR, GLOBUS, Ireen Amnes, none of them here on Saturday

A self-described egirl with a kindred spirit for cats, born and raised in Hong Kong but now based in Bristol studying music, 18 year-old Kiana Li has defiantly hurtled into our playlists over a series of pivotal releases over the last 11 months. Following a series of low-key net-label releases on Expanse came her Evaluate Me EP in November 2019. Self-released and six tracks deep, Kiana explains how it set the foundations for every meteoric moment her career has had this year. It ranged from dystopian, industrial-weight narratives to psychedelic, off-grid interludes and the best evaluation that could be generated from such a document was simply to expect the unexpected… And to understand that she will never sit comfortably in any one genre or play to expectations or rely on any standard production formulae. - UKF 2020Their RA profile lists XL Recordings, Critical Music, dh2, Kapsela and 1 more.Recently at Kraftwerk Berlin, Gretchen, Kraftwerk, Tresor/Globus and OHM · often with Malibu, Bill Kouligas, DJ Khalipha, none of them here on Saturday

“A legends legend” – Thump Magazine (2015) “The return of Dave Angel” – Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 (2014) “Dave Angel is a legend!” – DJ Mag Top 100 Issue (2013) A part of the very fabric of the UK techno scene, Dave Angel’s status as an erudite for electronic culture is anything but hyperbole or smothered in exhausting superlatives, but cemented in facts and encased in the endless memories of those who have lived, loved and danced, to the astonishing output of music he has created over the years. Born the son of a Jazz musician and elder brother to British hip-hop artist Monie Love, Dave’s path in music came to the fore during the explosion of acid house in London, back in the late 80’s. Hosting one of the zeitgeist shows of its time, his weekly broadcast on pirate radio station Phaze One (alongside Fabio and Groverider), saw him champion a new sound that was gradually captivating the youth of the country and catapulted him into the media spotlight, with notable publications including Mixmag, DJ Magazine and The Guardian; all proclaiming Dave as a one of the major forces in the UK techno/acid house scene. DJing professionally formed through a natural development prior to the recording process, as in 1989 after tinkering at home with a basic set-up of a keyboard and two tape decks, his first attempts at production created a somewhat controversial ‘Nightmare Mix’ edit of Eurhythmics ‘Sweet Dreams’. Initially a funk DJ, the TB-303 changed his life: "When I got into techno and acid it was like ‘this is the new sound, this is the new technology!’", says Dave. "I was thinking: ‘this is the music of the youth, and 20 years from now it’s going to be like the rock of the sixties!’- I had to get in on it”. Angel’s reworking of ‘Sweet Dreams’ generated such reaction at club level, that RCA were forced to officially release the track; which went on to debut at #23 in the UK Singles chart. The track’s success launched Angel’s name on a national level and opened his possibilities to a wide selection of creative opportunities. Most notably are his EP’s ‘The Family’ on Apollo, ‘Royal Techno’ on Rotation Records and his classic ‘Sea’s Of Tranquillity’ EP, hailed as a landmark release by the techno intelligence. Since this initial success Dave has not lost his drive to create music, which continues to be regarded as some of the bravest and most influential electronic music Britain produces. Often turning up to his early sets armed with a screwdriver in order to tear apart his Technic 1210s, by abolishing conventional BPM’s his sound has managed to pioneer, whilst still retaining classic inspirations. Heavily influenced by the Detroit sound, Dave’s back catalogue is punctured with singles, EPs and remixes on some of music’s most reputable record labels that include Polydor/Love, OuterRythum, Fnac, React Records, Island, R+S and Outrage imprints, amassing impressive sales units and critical acclaim during his 20+ years as a producer. As a remixer, he has been invited by some of electronic music’s most revered artists and acts to apply his artistic trade to their music. These include Orbital, Sun Electric, Carl Cox, Spooky, James, Roni Size and Underworld. One of his most highly-acclaimed remix duties includes Juan Atkins’s Model 500 alter-ego, where he skewed the sparkling “I Wanna Be There” into a broodingly weighty offering. Equally propelling him further onto the conscious radars of techno impressionists whom matter, Carl Craig’s Drums Suck Mix of ‘Airborne’ taken from the Handle With Care EP, was met with mass praise from fans and critics alike, revealing itself as a twelve-minute expedition of definitive, elastic electronica. The formation of his renowned recording imprint Rotation Records not only allowed Dave to create some of his most exquisite work to date but also gave the earliest platform to some of the biggest names in the scene today. Artists such as Adam Beyer, Christian Smith, Deetron, Vince Watson, Laidback Luke, The Advent, Jamie Anderson, Bryan Zentz, Steve Rachmad and Misstress Barbara among many, all cut their earliest grooves on the label and each helped to define Rotation as both a purveyor for fresh sounds and emerging talent. Fast forward to 2014 and Dave was back on Bedrock Records with the highly regarded triple header ‘Voodoo EP’, which went on to score a Beatport Top 20 and strong support from a host of big hitters including Pete Tong, who spun it on his BBC Radio 1 show exclaiming “The return of Dave Angel” along with Eats Everything quoting “Dave Angel is one of my heroes and this is massive!!” and of course Bedrock head honcho John Digweed amongst many others. Further output in the same year saw continued Pete Tong BBC Radio 1 support on the London based Anjunadeep release, ‘Quartz’. And it doesn’t stop there. In early 2015 Dave made a debut on the industry renowned Crosstown Rebels with ‘Revelation’ & ‘Guru’ proving the ability to effortlessly turn his hand to a deeper, hypnotic and more twisted sound for Damian Lazarus’ revered label. The release went on to receive three Mixmag reviews over February & March with BBC Radio 1 airplay from B.Traits, premieres on THUMP and Clash, whilst a Beatport chart placement of #21 made an all round success of this debut. The list of support went on and on. Bringing us bang up to date, and Dave’s latest Bedrock outing entitled ‘Progress’ literally progressed up the Beatport chart to a Top 10 placement, garnering support right across the board that included Adam Beyer on his ‘Drumcode’ radio show all the way to a surprising Above & Beyond spin on their internationally reaching ‘Group Therapy’ radio show. Roll forward to now and Dave has just returned from an intense U.S. Tour in autumn, with no signs of slowing down, his latest studio project ‘Scorpion’ is due to land on Bedrock Records in November 2015. Following this up will be by his long awaited EP for L.A. based Halocyan Records in 2016 and a busy European tour schedule to watch out for! As has long been attested by the scenes biggest names and continually backed up by his constant slew of robust dancefloor gems, Dave Angel remains one of the electronic community’s true characters, whose industrious approach to his craft gives off an aura of positivity like no other, a kind of warmth that you cannot fail to feel through his exceptionally, uplifting music. Raised far from the gravitational pull of dance music hubs, Dallas-born Decoder developed his craft outside traditional DJ circuits, shaping a singular voice defined by independence that remains central to his sound today. First opening Fruity Loops at the age of ten, Decoder's relationship with electronic music began free from expectation or institutional pressure. His early productions were guided as much by video game soundtracks, synth-pop and rhythm as by techno itself, resulting in music that is light and inquisitive. That playfulness has endured. Over time, his productions have evolved, with a distinctive sci-fi-feeling that's grounded in the techno's founding principles. Drum-led, full-bodied and often carrying a quiet melancholia, his discography draws a clear lineage from Detroit techno's futurist restraint and experimental traditions, all the while still resisting easy categorisation. Influences range from the microtonal explorations of Aleksi Perälä to the hypnotic patience associated with Perlon-era minimalism and Ricardo Villalobos, all filtered through an instinctive sense of play. Early support from Richie Hawtin and Jeff Mills affirmed his commitment to this direction, recognition many artists work years to achieve. In the DJ booth, Decoder treats performance as a direct extension of the studio. Sets are often built largely from unreleased material, functioning closer to live testing grounds than traditional DJ performances—ideas are trialled, stripped back and reshaped in real time with close attention to the room. After formative experiences at warehouse parties and renegade events across Texas, he began touring internationally while still in his teens, logging sets at the likes of De School, FOLD and Watergate. 2025 marked a significant turning point, with an acclaimed set at Waking Life and his debut at Berghain. Alongside releasing on established labels, Decoder runs two imprints: Codec, a community-focused platform for collaborative projects, and TOCA, a more purist, physical-only label emphasising longevity and restraint. His forthcoming album Prakasa, released on Planet X, represents several years of studio development and reflects his continued interest in cohesion across time, genre and form. Now operating internationally, Decoder represents a measured reinvention of techno, one that looks forward without severing ties to the past. Retaining the independence forged in Dallas warehouses and DIY parties, he remains an artist shaped not by trends, but by curiosity, patience and a disciplined belief in the power of simplicity.Their RA profile lists Axis Records, Delsin, Subsist, Blank Code and 2 more.Recently at Ikii, RSO.BERLIN, Berghain · often with Claudio PRC, jay york, Kangding Ray, none of them here on Saturday

Equally adept at playing propulsive deep techno, as she is at exploring hazy breaks, sumptuous downtempo, soaring trance, expansive drone, and even full-throttle drum and bass, Sybil’s sets often criss-cross through all of these genres and more, as she guides dancers on journeys which are emotive, thrilling and ultimately revitalising. Based in London, a notable UK-flair for genre-fluidity and diagonal rhythms can be found within her psychedelic techno excursions. Sybil’s DJing has taken her across revered events and venues on the global stage. These include: Sustain Release, Waking Life, Dekmantel, Paral·lel Festival, Positive Education, Butik Festival, Nowadays, De School, Berlin Atonal, WHOLE Festival, Dimensions, La Nature Festival, Mo:Dem, Transcendance (Japan), Miscellania (Melbourne), Harmony (Prague), ZVUK (Kazakhstan) and Discos Movimiento (Mexico City). Whilst Sybil’s club sets are often geared for energetic dance floor exhilaration, her numerous mixes are notable for their highly visual narrative arcs. Subtly accelerating and decelerating between disparate BPMs, she stitches together music from a broad palette of textures, contrasting new finds with long forgotten gems to create memorable journeys which are both rewarding and entrancing. Sybil has released singular mixes for platforms such as Monument, Crack Magazine, Patterns of Perception, Dimensions, Ute, INVEINS and Mysteries of the Deep. Ambient sets form a core part of Sybil’s repertoire, and she also curates the much-loved ambient, drone and experimental mix series, Deep Mind Music, which she has run since 2017.Recently at ZENNER, Tresor / Globus, RSO.BERLIN · often with Margaret Dygas, .VRIL, Vlada, none of them here on Saturday

There’s beauty in the art of teasing. To build the groove of a night slowly and piece by piece is a commonplace ideal, but not many are willing to sacrifice the early moments of gratification for a potentially more rewarding experience. Enter Garçon: The Basel-based music afficcionado has steadily built his reputation as an expert in mood modulation. Combining hypnotic grooves from all corners of electronic music, he’s crafted a style firmly rooted in techno, with a singular affinity for the dubby, rhythmically dexterous landscapes that stretch beyond. “Michel Amato's contribution to electronic music can barely be overstated.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Michel Amato's contribution to electronic music can barely be overstated. As The Hacker, and under different aliases, he has inspired generations of dance music fans and artists. He continues to perform at the very top of his game, constantly evolving and challenging himself with boundary-pushing projects. Coming from the French city of Grenoble, Amato spent his younger years absorbing futuristic Techno sounds from Detroit, bands like Depeche Mode, New Order, Kraftwerk and Front 242, as well as Italo Disco and Acid House. Given the breadth of his influences, it’s no surprise Amato's own discography defies simple definition, covering a wide range of styles in the years since his first release in 1996. Traversing zeitgeists, Amato had a Techno phase, dipped into EBM, sci-fi tinged Electro and New Wave, but is perhaps most famous as a founding father of Electroclash. Peaking at the turn of the millennium, Electroclash fused technoid rhythms with humorous punk and synth-pop sensibilities. Amato met a kindred spirit in Miss Kittin and together they became of one the most iconic duos in electronic music. Her vocals proved the perfect match for his productions, lending them a certain accessibility and new found audience. Kittin's deadpan delivery brought flair to Electroclash hits such as ‘Champagne’ (1998) and ‘Frank Sinatra’ (2000); DJ Hell released the tracks, as well as numerous other Hacker & Kittin productions, on his seminal International Deejay Gigolo imprint. Managing to incorporate elements of popular music without ever sacrificing their authenticity, Amato and Miss Kittin sold hundreds of thousands of records and gained worldwide recognition. In 2004, Amato released his most well-recieved album to date, ‘Rêves Mécaniques’. Largely a solo record, it was a return to the more eerie and edgy, instrumental sound he had pursued in his early years. The album showed that, in the right hands, even this ice-cold, ravy, Acid sound was fit for the charts. The years since wtinessed Amato put out a wide array of his own club mutations, whilst working on remixes, a DVD containing interviews and live footage, mix CDs and his label GoodLife. Today, he is as in-demand as ever. A highly-acclaimed LP, ‘Le Théâtre Des Opérations’, on Dark Entries in 2017 recalled the tough sound of his early works but with more modern production and fresh ideas. The currently thriving, young Electro and EBM underground consider Amato as a master of his craft and many of his older tracks are becoming classics. He has drawn the attention from tastemakers like Helena Hauff, Erol Alkan and Veronica Vasicka for contributions to their labels, released a new collaboration with Miss Kittin and been commissioned to remix both Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode and DJ Hell. In the live and DJ environment, Amato is as revered as he is on record. His set up has taken many forms over the years, largely centred around classic hardware such as the Korg MS 20, the Roland TR 808 and SH 101. His new live project (called ‘Amato’) is a 100% analog, return to his roots that has been presented at venues and festivals such as Dekmantel, Berghain, Nuits Sonores and Off Sonar. It’s a testament to the consistently high quality of Amato’s work and his visionary nature that he remains such a well-respected pillar of electronic music, with his timeless musical innovations continuing to rock dance floors worldwide.Their RA profile lists International DeeJay Gigolo Records, Turbo Recordings, Mental Groove, Different and 6 more.Recently at Kater, Berghain, Kantine am Berghain · often with EXTRA, Achilles Moss, ACID BOGEN, none of them here on Saturday
