Johannes Schuster is a potent force in the world of electronic music. Resident for iconic German event brands Unreal and 303, he has been playing and collecting vinyl since he was 15, building a global reputation through his incendiary DJ sets. A heady blend of dark, industrial tunes, bright and emotional pads, ravey acid and old school grooves form the nucleus of Johannes’ mesmerising sound. He has released solo productions and remixes on a range of prominent labels - including Green Fetish, Soma, NineTimesNine, Voxnox, RND Records, Märked and many more - with a packed global tour schedule. His first residency, in 2017, was with legendary Cologne spot Artheater. At Artheater Johannes became resident for the acid techno party 303. Playing regularly at such a renowned spot gave him the chance to carve out his own pathway within the local scene, performing alongside a long list of techno heavyweights. In 2021 Johannes joined the family at Unreal, one of Germany’s premier hard techno outfits, held at infamous Cologne club Bootshaus. To sum it up best, Juno sees techno as a textbook through culture and history. The Queens, NY-born Jamaican DJ has always gravitated toward electronic music since they were younger, but it wasn’t until after their time living in Germany and North Carolina that they realized how much deeper this music goes. Through their own research and the guidance of the owners of the former NC record store 641 RPM (shoutout E&T), they discovered the roots and sound of the music we all love. Underground Resistance, DJ Bone , Jay Denham , and many more acts and individuals inspired them and shaped what this music means to them, as well as what it can teach to so many, such as themes of resistance, community, and humanity. Now living back in Queens, they’ve been making their way around the circuit, playing at notable spots like Bossa Nova Civic Club, Signal and H0L0 , where they’ve shared the stage with techno OGS such as Joey Beltram, Adam X, DJ Shufflemaster, Mike Dearborn, and Shawnscape Renegade.
