CC’s career has given her the perfect creative outlets to express her first love – be it DJing around the globe, holding down a regular radio show, or curating her acclaimed First Light compilations. On her road from radio host to warm-up DJ to headliner, CC has never once compromised on her sound. Slow, pumping, romantic, playful, uplifting – these are the feels that people around the world have experienced listening to CC in action. Ultimately it’s about connecting with other music lovers on a physical and emotional level: less chin-stroking, more dancing! You could be chilling in a listening bar in her adopted home town of Lisbon, getting freaky in the late hours at Sub Club, DJOON or Good Room, or losing your mind during a headline slot at major festivals like Kala, Pitch Music & Arts, Love International, Glastonbury or Sonar by Night – even on the biggest stages, it always feels like CC is playing just for you. She transmits this feeling regularly over the airwaves as well, appearing on Rinse FM, NTS, BBC6, RA and Dublab, and making multiple appearances for Boiler Room. CC keeps loyal connections with the Australian scene and the musicians she meets on her international travels, channelling these into her First Light compilations. Now two volumes deep, the series has already given a platform to diverse artists from across Australia, Japan, Zambia, Indonesia, Canada and Sweden. Perhaps that’s the real fundamental of CC’s path as an artist – the space she creates for others. It’s reflected in the reminder she often gives after a gig: that the DJ just plays the music, and is no more or less important than the security guard, the bartender or the cleaner. It’s a humility that translates on a global scale – and you’re included too. In July 2023, CC:DISCO! released her debut EP on Erol Alkan’s independent imprint Phantasy Sound. Both ‘Chez Moi’ (featuring Confidence Man) and ‘Out Of Your Mind’ were instant hits, garnering impressive international streaming figures and receiving widespread DJ and radio support. The EP was played in festival sets by Shanti Celeste, Job Jobse, Palms Trax, Bradley Zero and others. Heard on Beats In Space (US), Triple J (Australia) and the BBC (UK) in shows from Sally C, Moxie and Sarah Storey, the EP was a summer hit in Europe and has also taken CC on a sold-out tour of her beloved Australia. For more than a decade, he has been one of Berlin’s most enduring presences and a key figure in the city's queer scene, playing regularly at both Panorama Bar and Berghain. His aesthetic is rooted in the origins of underground dance music, taking cues from the rawness of both US and UK cornerstones. Acid-tinged patterns, rolling toms, and full-bodied low ends combine into a groove that’s punchy and alive. As Dekmantel noted on his contribution to their mix series, “He packs plenty in, dexterously switching up the mood as he weaves through evocative and emotional sounds, always powered by crisp drums.” His longevity and quiet authority have led him to be a regular fixture at some of the most celebrated clubs and parties around – Adonis in London, BLITZ in Munich, and Savage Hanoi, as well as performances at leading festivals like Glastonbury’s Block9, Houghton, Wonderfruit, and Lost Village. This energy also fuels his project LAUNDRETTE, a collaboration with Roi Perez and David Elimelech. What began as a series of intimate gatherings has grown into one of Berlin’s most beloved parties, which also function occasionally as fundraisers for marginalised communities and humanitarian causes.Recently at KREUZWERK, Else, Berghain · often with Mike Servito, Stathis (GR), Markus Z, none of them here that night

He is also the visionary founder of GAG, SPUNK, and WARP Festival—celebrated LGBTQIA+ platforms that champion queer artistry and foster inclusivity within the electronic music community. His meticulously curated, predominantly vinyl-based sets reflect an immense breadth of musical knowledge, blending house, techno, and acid house into a fluid, genre-defying journey. With an unmistakably frisky approach to the craft, Roi Perez’s extensive DJ-sets anchor dance floors and locks the room into a shared frequency, creating an atmosphere of togetherness, where loose sweaty bodies tune in and resolve into a single collective experience. Focusing all of his artistic energy solely on DJing, the Berlin-based DJ crafts long, percussive narratives that swing between sweat and sweetness. With an ever expanding record collection, his sets span groove-led house, tribal-leaning techno, and the teasing, flirtatious heartbeat of a good ballroom. His Panorama Bar residency, lasting over a decade, has shaped his sound signature. In Berghain’s most playful room, Perez has refined a way of mixing that feels expansive without losing intimacy. The same spirit follows him to Dekmantel, Glastonbury Festival and other stages worldwide, and he is equally at home in the steamy basements we all love so much. In short: Roi Perez is a key figure wherever long sets, instinct and mischief shape the night. Perez’s own party LAUNDRETTE traces dance music back to its queer roots through time-stretching sets and a deep attunement to the room’s collective resonance. The project also directs funds to marginalised communities and humanitarian initiatives.Recently at Neue Nationalgalerie, Berghain, Coco Boule · often with Phase Fatale, nd_baumecker, Boris, none of them here that night
“Whether via her DJ sets or label Big Saldo’s Chunkers, Sally C has developed one of the most distinctive sonic signatures in electronic music.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Whether via her DJ sets or label Big Saldo’s Chunkers, Sally C has developed one of the most distinctive sonic signatures in electronic music. The Belfast-born, Berlin-based artist traverses the gamut of vintage house, hip house, acid and breakbeat, all with that unmistakable Chunker sound. Sally’s DJing journey begun in 2010 at the Reading Rooms in Dundee, Scotland, an iconic local club, playing host to the likes of DJ Pierre, DJ Sneak and Green Velvet. It was here she met an open-minded and accepting community and gained a crucial education in digging, mixing and all things dance music culture, an experience that would set her up for the rest of her career. These guiding principles of authenticity, community and independence lie at the core of who Sally is as an artist and have defined her brick-by-brick journey since day one. Moving to Berlin in 2015, she etched out a spot in the city’s thriving club scene, throwing parties at Griessmühle and her own open-air raves, all the while building a fanbase for her raw and chunky style. When she was tapped for her debut Boiler Room in 2019 at AVA Festival, it was a noticeable levelling up. No longer a developing talent, RA lauded her as a festival highlight, noting her “musical range and technical acuity”. Up until 2020, Sally had built her name entirely based on her inspired selector skills, but all that changed with the launch of her own independent imprint Big Saldo’s Chunkers. The label is inspired by the golden era of hip house and US house music from ‘88 – ’98, and in particular, artists such as Fast Eddie, Tyree and the late great K-Hand, whose trailblazing music has impacted her so heavily. Joe Muggs writing for The Wire said it best; ‘everything in her tracks is straight from 1888-1992: she samples, chops and loops like Todd Terry, throws in piano riffs like the most shameless of Italians, makes bass tones that bring to mind early Murk, Gat Décor and Together’s “Hardcore Uproar”. And she does it all ‘with a sincerity that shines like a strobe light’. To date original productions such as ‘Let’s Get This’ and ‘Downtown’ (which scored over 30 BBC Radio 1 plays) and ‘All Love’, have established themselves as enduring classics, thanks to Sally’s vision and commitment to crafting tracks that adhere to her three crucial production principles – a chunky bassline, banging drums and a trippy vocal. “That’s the holy trinity! Simplicity is key - less is always more,” says Sally. Other discography highlights include a debut on Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section with ‘The Way To Do It’, a sublime remix of ascendent Nigerian artist Obongjayar ‘Sugar’ and her playful twist on LB aka LABAT’s ‘Right Now’. A deft selector, Sally can lay down an extended DJ set, a peak time festival slot or a winding closer with equal mastery. This adaptive skill has seen her confirm regular bookings at Panorama Bar and Robert Johnson, right through to Printworks, Melt Festival, Love International, Kala Festival, Awakenings, Warehouse Project, iconic queer party HE.SHE.THEY and Australia’s leading festival, Pitch Music & Arts. Her profile continues to grow in North America, with recent tours taking in gigs at Piknic Électronik, Elsewhere, Smartbar, Flash, Good Room and multiple tours of Mexico. Outside of DJing and production, Sally is a resident at Berlin’s vibrant community radio station Refuge Worldwide. Her monthly show is particularly focused on providing a platform for emerging artists and to date she’s showcased mixes from Lovefoxy, Amaliah, NIKS, Jenny Cara and BASHKKA, alongside established powerhouse Tijana T. https://sallyc.bandcamp.com www.soundcloud.com/sallycberlin www.facebook.com/sallycberlin/ www.instagram.com/sallycberlinTheir RA profile lists Big Saldo's Chunkers, Poumpet Records and Space Dust.Recently at Berghain, MUENZE, OXI · often with Spray, Meilgaarden, Eddie Fowlkes, none of them here that night
