Toribio is a Dominican-American musician, producer, and DJ devoted to creating transformative sonic experiences that move both body and spirit. A lifelong student of rhythm, he weaves jazz, soul, house, and Afro-Latin sounds into seamless journeys that honor the healing power of music and collective movement.

A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Toribio's musical foundation began in his grandfather's church and continued through jazz drumming and marching band at a Florida performing arts high school, before he refined his craft at one of the world's most prestigious music institutions.

As bandleader, vocalist, and key instrumentalist of the live house fusion band Conclave, he earned critical acclaim with a debut album named one of Resident Advisor's best in 2021 and praised by Rolling Stone and the New Yorker. His work as a DJ and producer has taken him to stages from Boiler Room and Glastonbury to clubs in Mexico City, Berlin, and Tokyo, with his productions earning support from legends like Gilles Peterson and Theo Parrish, and remixes from Louie Vega and Joe Claussell.

This foundation in musical mastery now informs his work as a sonic healer and community builder. Through Brooklyn block parties (Public Service NYC), his imprint B.D.A., and deep listening experiences like Sala Sessions, Toribio creates spaces where music becomes medicine—where careful curation and intentional soundscapes guide others into presence, connection, and embodied healing.

    the whole biography
A triple threat who lights up a room when behind the decks, in the studio and on stage, TORIBIO is a lifelong student of rhythm. Analyzing melodies and chords with a musician's ear, the Dominican-American artist blends different genres and moods in all his creative pursuits–DJing, producing, singing, playing instruments, and even his skills on the mic. Thanks to a childhood spent playing in church and jazz drumming, the Florida-born, New York-based act has a natural sense of harmony. He takes on the role of musical cartographer in his Afro-Latin band, Conclave, whose debut album was named one of Resident Advisor's best in 2021 and praised by both Rolling Stone and the New Yorker. Acting as the ensemble's bandlander, vocalist, and key instrumentalist, TORIBIO connects jazz, soul, and house from various cultures with style and grace. His speciality in sonic connections are especially tangible in his DJing. Gliding from pan-Latin club to raw electro to jazz to old-school funk, his sets are a masterclass in building energy and tension. Whether playing Boiler Room or clubs in Mexico City and Tokyo, he knows how to work a crowd with selections and transitions that are as precise as they are powerful. As a producer, his edits and originals are DJ weapons, rinsed by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Rich Medina, and Theo Parrish. His original tracks have been remixed by the likes of Louie Vega, Joe Claussell, and DJ Spinna. Known for fostering community through movement, his Brooklyn block parties (Public Service NYC) embody the spirit of New York’s dance culture while his newly formed imprint B.D.A. is quickly becoming known for bringing these vibes to vinyl. A TORIBIO show is a full-body experience— as he always says, “bring dat ass, and your feet will follow.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
In 2004 her debut album “Blondie” became a mega success. From De:Bug to the New York Times, the critics were over the moon. It was to take six long years until the next album. Six years filled with brilliant co-operations, expressive remixes (such as “Grand Canyon” for Tracey Thorn from Everything But The Girl – released on her compilation CD “Adaptations – Mixtape #1” on Kompakt), and various singles. In addition, she has been keeping the “Cologne style” flag flying with the magnificent group “Cologne Tape” since 2009. Her legendary live shows took her once around the world and back again before her new album “Meine zarten Pfoten” was released on DJ Koze’s label Pampa Records in 2011. Hamburg concert hall tycoon and star author Tino Hanekamp writes: “In the broadest sense of the word, it’s pop. But ultimately it’s music that exudes so much warmth and tranquillity that it puts even the greatest bundle of nerves into a state of ultra-fine-tuned receptiveness.”
Their RA profile lists Kompakt, Areal, IRR, Pampa and 2 more.
