Ohio-born, Oakland, CA-based artist Maria BC (they/them) has slowly opened up their process over the years, moving from the one-room recording process of 2021 EP Devil’s Rain to the untreated apartment wanderings of Hyaline in 2022, the home of a family friend featuring an out-of-tune baby Steinway piano where they recorded their Sacred Bones debut, Spike Field.

After meeting at Le Guess Who?, Eli and Indré recorded their album Después de llover.
The album is about musical conversations between two people who have only recently met; they come from very different places, do not speak the same languages, and perhaps have little in common other than the resonance of their instruments. This encounter leads them to explore an imaginary world where they share sounds to build a place where they can go and play with the moisture of the plants growing in the water, listen to the pudus playing with the herons, rest on the floripondios, and perhaps stay there waiting for the rain to return.
Mapuche artist, Eli Wewentxu, is based in Chomio - Wallmapu. He trained as a violinist from an early age and studied in various locations throughout Latin America and Europe. Eli works in musical composition, audiovisual creation, and collecting sound archives from the territory to which he belongs. He participates in various artistic and educational projects in Wallmapu that seek to create spaces for reflection and emotional processing in the face of the current political and environmental crisis, proposing listening as a daily practice of dialogue with the living environment.
Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė is a kanklės player and singer from Lithuania, based in Belgium. Often performing solo or as part of Merope—her long-standing collaboration with Belgian guitarist and electronic artist Bert Cools— weaving together elements of folk, ambient and electronics, their albums released on Stroom and granvat. Indrė’s creative collaborations include works with artists such as Shahzad Ismaily, Eli Wewentxu, Jessika Kenney, Surya Botofasina, Laraaji, Gyða Valtýsdóttir, Solo Cissokho.

Se formó como violinista desde temprana edad. Estudió interpretación musical y musical de cámara en diferentes territorios de Latinoamérica y Europa. Su trabajo creativo abarca diferentes áreas del arte como la creación musical con instrumentos antiguos y máquinas, la performance, el arte sonoro y el video. Su investigación se enfoca en resignificar la escucha y con esto, articular nuevas formas de hacer música con instrumentos que poseen una carga cultural occidental como el violín y el violonchelo, tornándolo en algo ligado a su herencia cultural e identidad desde una mirada propia y crítica hacia la academia eurocentrista. Su obra se ha presentado en diferentes países de Latinoamérica, Europa y África. Forma parte de la comunidad mapuche J.H. en Chomio, desde el 2019 es co-creador del colectivo Moviendo Territorios junto a la artista boliviana Sharon Mercado y del colectivo Práctica No Eficiente con el artista de Argentina Pipi Villadangos desde el año 2022. Actualmente vive en su comunidad ubicada en Wallmapu, en donde realiza un archivo sonoro del territorio, realiza talleres creativos en diferentes escuelas rurales del territorio mapuche, trabaja con la tierra y cuida animales.
