Hailing from New York, he was seduced by techno when Jeff Mills held residency (as well as his own first) at Limelight in the early 90s. Producing from the mid-90s onward, he released his first 12"s on Damon Wild's Synewave and his own Infrastructure imprint. A chance meeting in 1996 brought him together with Regis (Karl O'Connor). The two worked as Portion Reform, releasing uncompromising music on Downwards, making him the only non-Birmingham producer to appear on the label. He later moved to Berlin in 2007, still working with Regis, and now Silent Servant (Juan Mendez), putting his focus on Sandwell District. Since his earliest days in the scene, Amsterdam’s electronic music pioneer Steve Rachmad has created a legion of monikers to cover the variety and broadness of his compositions. Black Scorpion, Tons of Tones, Rachmad Project, Scorp, Parallel 9, Ignacio, Dreg, Sterac Electronics; they all represent a different facet of Rachmad’s music. One of the main creatures living on Planet Rachmad has always been STERAC, a side of Steve’s musical personality that’s not easily described. Let’s say that where other aliases are used for excursions to more dub-, disco-, or house- oriented records, STERAC’s focus has always been on the no-nonsense, darker, and deeper side of techno. The STERAC discography consists of signature cuts, spread out over genre-defining labels such as M-Plant, Tresor, Klockworks, Afterlife, Mote Evolver, Indigo Aera and Delsin. Over the years it’s been reinterpreted, remixed, and reworked by peers such as Ricardo Villalobos, Vince Watson and Marc Romboy. The work rarely fits current trends or pushes through to the absolute top of subjective charts. Rather it simmers, always ready to spark the rise of new generations, parties, and artists’ careers within the musical biotope we all love. From deep pools of ambience to the brain-feeding mechanisms of electro and techno, Nadia Struiwigh’s gift is in expressing herself with conviction through her machines. As an accomplished live artist and producer, her affinity for synthesis and sequencing results in a spellbinding strain of electronica drawn from a richly personal sonic space she has marked out for herself. Struiwigh’s recorded output has appeared on labels like Central Processing Unit, Nous’klaer Audio and Dekmantel - albums and EPs which reach from crunchy sequenced beats to vast swathes of pure, melodic tones. Her roots in Rotterdam and current location in Berlin equally speak to her affinity for techno - propulsive, dynamic machinations which manifest in DJ sets as well as live hardware performances. As a teenager enthralled with the Warp school of electronica and leftfield downtempo, Struiwigh was set on a path of discovery where the intricacy of production met with her impassioned, intuitive approach to composition. Her exacting approach to the technical aspects of the craft has earned her the knowledge to extract her own voice from any medium, but more importantly her music emerges from a very human need to communicate and connect. That connection is best manifested outside the studio. Struiwigh’s live sets range from patient, beatless immersions to kinetic peak-time rushes, sometimes straddling the divide in line with her omnivorous passion for ambient and techno alike. At times she’ll present her released works in a more patient, listening setting, while for the sensory overload of the dancefloor she tends towards a more improvised, open-ended approach to techno and electro. The exact make up of her live rig changes from gig to gig, keeping her inspired and ensuring no two performances are the same. High-profile shows in concert halls sit alongside strobe lit club sessions - she’s since become a resident DJ for Tresor to indulge her love of driving, psychedelically-charged techno, while warm-up sets give her the chance to indulge the deeper dimensions of the music she loves. The range of her tastes can be heard across leading platforms such as RA, Phantasy, Bleep and Red Light Radio, who have all invited her to their esteemed mix series’. Swiss DJ and producer NVST emerged from Lausanne’s free party and illegal rave circuits, a background that continues to shape a physical, high-tension approach to club music. Her sets move through breakbeat, techno, acid and industrial without settling, driven by a sharp sense of structure and rupture, where intensity builds, collapses and reconfigures in real time. Rather than navigating genres, NVST works the dancefloor as a space of friction and release, balancing precision with instability. This approach has taken her from underground scenes to major platforms, with performances at venues and festivals such as Atonal, Garage Noord, Dekmantel, Horst Arts & Music, Positive Education, Rewire, Fiber and Montreux Jazz Festival. Touring extensively across Europe, Asia and Latin America, she continues to expand her reach internationally, with a first run of shows in Brazil in 2026 and upcoming North American appearances including Nowadays in New York and MUTEK Montréal. She holds a residency at C12 in Brussels and is part of the extended Tresor family in Berlin, while maintaining a regular presence on the airwaves with radio residencies on Kiosk Radio and Rinse FM.
