Signing to DJ Friction’s Shogun Audio from their first ever release, GEST have been turning heads in drum & bass for their masterful hold of versatility – able to produce some of the most impactful dancefloor orientated underground hitters whilst simultaneously skilled in writing smooth rollers dripped in soul. A rejuvenated name to match a rejuvenated sound, the duo previously known as Gerra & Stone have quickly commanded support from some of the biggest names in the scene from only a handful of releases, with names like DJ Marky, Alix Perez, and BBC Radio 1’s Rene LaVice all ear-marking the pair’s productions for their tracklists. Sammy B originally from New Zealand has had a long involvement in the Berlin bass music scene. In the early days she started out attending events as a ‘die-hard’ raver and a music photographer. Her love for bass heavy music meant it wasn’t long before she bought a pair of Technics and an old Serato box to learn DJ-ing herself. She moved to Berlin in 2013 and in the following years discovered and grew connections within the local scene, specifically in Dubstep and DnB circles. In terms of style, Sammy B is drawn to most things ‘dark’ be that building and rolling basslines, eerie ambience or metal-like aggression. She enjoys creating a vibe of ‘atmospheric anticipation’, by cultivating deep and long blends with little intention for the use of effects. From starting out exclusively in 140 dubstep sound, it was around 2018 when she moved into mixing up more and more DnB, specialising in 170 half-time - a genre she feels most at home in. It's ever-evolving, pushing genre-defined boundaries and has such diverse elements that always inspire new vibes and direction in her mixes. Sammy B is striving to always challenge the idea of what is ‘expected’ within bass genres, she aims to keep mixes rolling based on its vibe not only genre or tempo alone. Sammy B’s involvement in the scene has led to multiple bookings within the EU - notably Membrain Festival, Fusion, 3000GRAD and Subardo Festival. Along with German based crews such as WobWob, Impulse, Bassism, Break It Down, Eat The Bass and Gretchen Club’s Recycle - Berlin’s finest DnB. In 2018 she realised a calling to the ‘promoter life’ and launched her own event series called deviate to provide an alternative perspective for bass music parties, mixing up line-ups and genres with the goal to "depart from usual or accepted standards". The motivation for the event came from wanting to support the less-known, the up and coming DJs/Producers and also give space to FLINTA artists to encourage their participation in the non-mainstream DnB and bass music scene. Jamie is a Mc legend coming from the capitol city of germany , Berlin. He was the first generation of Junglists in this country, doing it since the early 90's, when he started to write lyrics he was only 15. On the mic for almost any big name in the Jungle/D&B scene (name one ..) he was booked all over europe, asia and the usa. In 2000 he was booked as the first Jungle/D&B artist to the UK. He performed in London, Bristol and Oxford and this wasn't the last time he stood on stage in the motherland of the genre. Up to now he's still one of the most mentioned Mc's and it seems like he's not willing to quit yet! He's also working for one of the main Clubs for Jungle/D&B, and any other kind of leftfield beats aswell, the Berlin Venue Club Gretchen where they run the "Recycle - Berlin's finest Drum'n'Bass" events which he is part of since the very beginning in 1996.Their RA profile lists BMG and Universal Music.Recently at Gretchen, Bi Nuu, DSTRKT Club Berlin · often with N'Dee (Recycle/D), Box2, Box1, none of them here on Saturday
