OXI Groove Affair - 4th Edition
The Groove Affair returns for its fourth edition on Saturday, October 17, bringing another night of house music to OXI.
Once again, the sound moves freely across the many shades of the genre - from deep and soulful grooves to disco-infused rhythms, rolling house, percussive cuts and late-night pressure. No fixed formula, just a shared instinct for music that makes people move.
For this edition, we welcome Harrison BDP, Iron Curtis, Trent Voyage, DJ Handbag, Sven von Thülen, ATTA, Andrea Zadro and Luca Garcia.
At the centre of the lineup, Harrison BDP brings his unmistakable UK house sound, warm, soulful and deeply rooted in groove, with a strong connection to the golden era of house and underground club music.
Iron Curtis joins with his distinctive blend of deep house, disco, jazz and raw club sounds. A long-standing presence in Berlin's house scene, his sets move effortlessly between subtle, hypnotic grooves and serious dancefloor energy.
Trent Voyage completes the trio with his deep and eclectic approach to house, moving between soulful, funky and hypnotic territory while keeping the focus firmly on the groove.
Alongside them, DJ Handbag, Sven von Thülen, ATTA, Andrea Zadro and Luca Garcia bring their own perspectives to the night, connecting different generations, styles and approaches to house music.
Across 2 floors, OXI opens its rooms for a full night dedicated to house music, with each floor offering its own atmosphere and take on the groove.
From the first record to the final track, expect a continuous journey through different tempos, textures and moods - from deep and hypnotic moments to heavier sounds made for the dancefloor.
Set in the heart of Berlin, OXI becomes the meeting point for dancers, selectors, music lovers and late-night wanderers. And once you’re in, the night stays open: re-entry is possible at no extra cost with your stamp.
OXI Groove Affair: house in motion, all night long.
We strive to provide a safe & worry-free space.

“Johannes Paluka considers himself a DJ first and foremost, and that is more than just a bullet point on a CV that also credits him as a prolific producer, musician, and remixer.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Johannes Paluka considers himself a DJ first and foremost, and that is more than just a bullet point on a CV that also credits him as a prolific producer, musician, and remixer. Whether in the studio or behind the decks, the Berlin-based »interuniversal« artist most commonly known as Iron Curtis meanders along the margins of different genres, combining discrete elements while switching things up wholesale with the sort of proactive curiosity that is at the heart of DJing. His various activities follow a »what if ...?« approach: What if we blend these two tracks and let the results mutate further? What if we enrich house music with elements of genre X? What if we eschew the tried-and-tested methods and take a different path for once, if only for the fun of it? Since his debut as a producer in 2008, Paluka has explored different genres and unexpected combinations thereof. His own productions, countless remixes, and collaborations—such as his ongoing series of full-length releases with long-term friend and musical partner Johannes Albert—have consistently strayed from and circled back to the house music sound that is so integral to his own. His 2018 sophomore solo album Upstream Color for Tamed Musiq showed just how far his exploratory drive can lead him when he leans into it: combining his sensibility for the deepest and dustiest of grooves with a penchant for sonic experimentation, the album reflected the breadth of his interests and qualities as a producer with a hazy shimmer. Over the years, Paluka has amassed a broad discography, stylistically ranging from leftfield experiments to broken beats and, of course, dancefloor-ready house music. Besides his collaborative albums with Albert on Frank Music and a slew of releases by the now-defunct acid/electro duo Achterbahn d’Amour, his discography includes numerous EPs and LPs under the name Iron Curtis, as well as various (occasionally anonymous) aliases. He has regularly worked with labels such as Rawax and its Chiwax sublabel, Hudd Traxx, and Permanent Vacation, while also making guest appearances on Running Back, Smallville, and Delusions of Grandeur—further underlining his stylistic flexibility through his tireless work as a remixer. Paluka’s work at a music tech company leaves him little time to tour extensively, but that does not deter him from playing at select international events. He feels most at home in front of crowds who enjoy the pure teachings of the house music gospel just as much as forward-thinking stylistic syncretism. His recent evolution can be traced through the numerous online mixes he has recorded—especially the various sets he has played at HÖR—during which his love for adventurous electronica shines through just as much as his affinity for techno and other styles. Across all of his activities, Paluka always prioritizes the element of surprise over fidelity to a single style, meaning that he combines things while switching them up. He is, after all, first and foremost a DJ: proactively curious—always asking, »What if ...?« ______ Text: Kristoffer Cornils, 2024 Photo: Mareike Gleisbau, 2023Their RA profile lists Mule Electronic, Dirt Crew Recordings, Smallville Records, Morris / Audio and 6 more.Recently at Kater, Paloma, Hoppetosse · often with Johannes Albert, HOPPER, ACID BOGEN, none of them here that night

A native of Waterford, Ireland, Trent Voyage (Colm Mullally) first commenced his musical journey with a foundation in percussion and drums before transitioning to electronic compositions, eventually broadening his study with a degree in Music Production in Berlin. His second release with Elena Moroder on Quirk quickly made the rounds with their hit track 'Aquamarine' being shared and played among groove seekers and festivals alike. His ability to create atmospheric dreamy like tracks fuelled with deep groves and crystal clear vocals have marked him as a notable presence in the house music scene, earning live set appearances at Berlin's Heideglühen, Club der Visionaere and festivals from Italy to Lebanon. Trent's productions remind us that music made with soul and emotional depth can leave lasting imprints as timeless as the inspiration from where they once came.Their RA profile lists Quirk.Recently at Haus der Visionäre, Tresor / Globus, Hoppetosse · often with Henriku, Alexander Skancke, Elena Moroder, none of them here that night

A Russian translation will be published in late 2019. The book was turned into a TV documentary called "Wendeklang"/"In This Place Called Techno", for which Sven von Thülen co-wrote the script.
