Operate UKG returns to Paloma Berlin on October 16th, 2026 for another night dedicated to the rawer strains of UK Garage.
This edition welcomes Mattik for his Berlin debut, an artist whose productions have become a firm fixture among garage heads over the past years. Moving between dark, swung 2-step and heavyweight speed garage pressure, his sound has earned support from some of the genre’s leading names while staying firmly rooted in the more uncompromising side of UKG.
With recent releases on labels including Hardline, ec2a, Instinct / Constant Sound, ATW and the legendary Locked On Records, alongside recent tours across Japan, Australia and Thailand, this is an artist fully locked into the current pulse of underground garage music.
Also making his Berlin debut is Melbourne/Naarm-based DJ and radio host Campbell. He has long been honing his craft, drawing on his UK roots to establish himself as a staple of the local bass music scene. As host of PBS 106.7FM’s The Blend, which recently celebrated 21 years of broadcasting, his weekly programme has become an integral part of the city’s rich musical fabric. On The Blend, Campbell showcases a diverse mix of electronic music from across the heavier end of the spectrum.
Completing the guests of the night is Stuttgart-based Clot, a versatile DJ rooted in Dub, Jungle and Garage. He is a co-host of the experimental listening session “nische” and regularly involved in soundsystem events with the Railroad Records crew.

broadcasting, the weekly program has become an integral part of the city's rich musical fabric. Inside Campbell showcases a diverse mix of electronic music across the heavier end of the spectrum. His love for music and future direction was cemented as a key member of the crew behind the Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) in Melbourne '06. Soon after he established the Blend Corp. label to distribute the material of renowned artist Wax Tailor (FR), among others. Campbell's connection and contribution to the greater music community saw him join the CDR team, which ran Melbourne producer meetups, and continues through mentoring announcers and DJs at PBS. The Blend has a strong emphasis on supporting new talent, along with the more established, featuring weekly guest mixes and interviews from both local and international artists. Promoter endeavours with his More Styles events, mixed bass music nights at Section 8, have seen him host shows for UK luminaries such as Digital, Djinn, LMajor and Stretch. Known for his eclectic taste, sets vary depending on the night in question and he is not one to be put into any box or category, comfortably slotting into diverse lineups covering drum’n’bass, jungle, footwork, dubstep, grime, halftime, UK garage and beyond. Residencies past and present include Section 8, Howler, Workshop, Lucky Coq and Black Cat, along with regular spots at clubs such as Revolver Upstairs, Miscellania and Sub Club. A selection of other highlights include; The Blend’s 20 year anniversary show headlined by Special Request (UK), performances at Melbourne Music Week, Red Bull 1800 Doof, plus Mani Festo, LMajor, Swamp81 (Loefah, Chinese Daughter & Snowy), Kloke, Digital, Pangaea, and Djrum support shows. Having completed several tours across North America and Europe, his latest took him to headline shows in Asia, plus a return to Europe. 20 Years of The Blend tour across Philippines and Europe 2024 highlights; Manila at Boogie for Under Pressure on Red I Sound, Siargao island at Manu, Barbosa and Harana for Sabado Nights. Europe for Alternation at OT301 Amsterdam, London for Planet Wax on-air and Aaja Radio, Brighton Loves Jungle x Over/Shadow at The Volks, Prague for Mode Radio (UK) and finishing in Leipzig for Bass Maessage at Zoro on the mighty Pamb Sound with Beatrice M, Ghost Dubs et al. Asia tour highlights 2023, spanning 7 countries: Japan at Zubar Tokyo, Singapore for Kings of Bass, Thailand at Irie Bongkok, Taiwan at 23 Music Room Taipei, Indonesia for shows throughout Bali including Plutonic, Potatohead and 40 Thieves, Hong Kong for the Rolling with the Waves boat party and Dark Metaz club show, and the Philippines for the Ichiban launch party and Ichiban Festival on Siargao Island. USA and Canada tour highlights, across 8 cities: Los Angles, Detroit, Portland, San Francisco, Montreal, New York, Chicago and Denver. Shows covered iconic venues and club nights such as The Black Box (Denver), Stamina (San Francisco), Proper (Chicago) and Motor City Wine (Detroit), where he was greatly humbled to have Underground Resistance legend John Collins come down to meet and scope the show. Radio appearances during the period featured broadcasts on dublab (LA), XRAY fm (Portland) and Music is my Sanctuary (Montreal). European tour highlights 2015, covering 10 countries: Spain, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Brussels, United Kingdom, Hungary, Finland, Latvia and Germany, with shows including the Outlook, L'Estrany and Soundwave Festivals. The first of which he played several slots culminating in the epic Converge Boat Party with Youngsta, Jack Sparrow and Kaiju. Other shows included playing alongside such luminaries as Om Unit in Prague to the Levelz crew (Chimpo, Skittles et al) in Berlin, as well as an NTS radio visit and mix for the CDR Audio show. Past Australian highlights: Melbourne Festival Artist Party, Rainbow Serpent Festival, The Dot, Outlook Festival Melbourne, Sun & Bass Melbourne, Strawberry Fields, Earth Festival, Paradise festival, RBMA Shows (DJ Vadim, Clark, Lone), Judge for The Age Music Victoria Awards (2014/15/16).“TMSN is known for his cutting-edge genre-bending mix from the bass-heavy side of electronic music.”

the whole biography
Highly inspired by the Broken Beat movement in West London in the early 2000s, Ben Mono never stopped developing his own beats and sound-structures ever since. Driven by the impact and the unique quality of breakbeats and more sophisticaed rhythms his musical research never stopped over the past 2 decades, during which he kept reinventing himself a few times. His goal always was to stilistically settle down in that somewhat unidentified terrain between the Berlin scene and that place where most of his personal heroes came from: the UK. Having his first Drum & bass records coming out in 1998 (Force & Paul „Breakbeat Mutations“) and his first UKG release as Sonic Surfer („Beta Bay“) in 2002 it was time now for a rewind and to make it back to square one. Running his infamous Operate nights together with TMSN in Berlin for the past 8 years, Ben Mono became one of the main representatives of that new wave of UKG artists in Germany. Watch out for his tune on Groove Chronicle's DPR imprint!Their RA profile lists Defected Records, Compost Records, Ed Banger Records, Stil vor Talent and 6 more.Recently at Paloma, Ritter Butzke · often with PRESTi, Dub Isotope, Alison Wonderland, none of them here that night
