Active for over a decade, his sets are regularly heard at the city’s staple clubs Sisyphos, Renate, Golden Gate and Kater, as well as at Fusion Festival. International dates include Golem Festival in Hungary, Mirage in Hanoi, Mar & Wana in Puerto Escondido and repeat appearances in Georgia, alongside club shows across Germany. Niklas Wandt is a percussionist, producer, DJ and radio host . He lives in Berlin, where his eclectic approach is heard most regularly basement club Sameheads - a lush sonic palette with a hypnotic, heavily percussive drive, from tripped out downtempo and afrofunky cosmic sound (think Rimini 1995) to driving progressive and tribal house, trance, warped techno and warming tech house – high energy in smooth, long blends. The impeccable rhythmic feel is a reflection of Niklas’ musical roots in the world of drums - he has cut his teeth playing in hiphop, psychedelic rock and free jazz projects and has been part of a number of projects centered around Salon des Amateurs in Düsseldorf. A wide, open minded range of practices that still feed into his music today - at Salon he forged his musical bond to producer Jan Schulte aka Wolf Müller aka Bufiman. The pair released the acclaimed double LP "Instrumentalmusik von der Mitte der World" in 2018 via Growing Bin Records, whose blissful neo-Balearic sound still makes an impact today. Niklas can be also heard as part of the band Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge (with records on the labels Themes for Great Cities, Bureau B and Lustpoderosa that became underground favorites) and in a duo with veteran producer Sascha Funke (two discs on Multi Culti, a third one on R.A.N.D. Muzik), plus on a string of releases for imprints such as Bureau B, Permanent Vacation, Animals Dancing, Neubau, Warning and Edizioni Mondo/Running Back. His various projects have taken him all across Europe (appearing at festivals like Nuits Sonores, Fusion, Garbicz, Unsound, Dancity), to China, Israel & Palestine, the US, Chile, Peru and Mexico. February 2025 will see the release of “Mineral House Vol. 1”, Niklas’ first collaborative EP with Amsterdam-based producer Retromigration, via the revered Berlin imprint Love on the Rocks. As a sonic explorer (and spatial researcher), her work develops between languages that re-image the contours of a reality wrapped in unknowable and unexpected darkness — “Luce Clandestina” is an ultra-acoustic metaphor in which to immerse oneself, that revolves around the variations of repeatedly shifting flares and shadows, lost into a cathartic/psychedelic and hypnotic rhythm. Thanks to a delicately-eclectic approach (and evolving her style by fusing nuances from the past with fresh ones) she identifies "the present sphere" through unexpected and labyrinthine soundscapes which raise brainwaves and emotions. In this way, moving towards a more inward-looking and mental dance experience, her artistic aim is to transport listeners/dancers on a deeply-initiating journey - including different influences (tribal, cosmic, 90s’ references, deep and acid..) - but without referring to a certain genre, ranging from lower to higher bpm. She has played in various Italian clubs and festivals over the past few years, including RoBOt, Lost Music Festival, Jazz is Dead, FuoriFestival, Nextones, Laguna Festival, Territory (by Ortigia Sound System), Piedicavallo, and more, and participated in platforms such a Rinse France, Refugee Worldwide, Fade Radio, Rocket Radio, Viscera, Inveins. In Turin, her hometown, she is currently one of the resident DJs at Bunker Club since 2021 (with the party “LA NOTTE”). Luce is also a member of the independent Italian label "Details Sound" — on the label she curated the V.A. Vago Spazio del Ritmo album released in June 2023, as well as hosting her homonym monthly radio show on Radio Raheem, which is focused on a "vague" experimental research that moves around transcendental rhythms and ambient atmosphere, in order to build a rouge file via a listening session and fresh dance floor measurements.
