Widely associated with Berlin and institutions Berghain and Hard Wax, Dettmann has remained true to his roots by consistently seeking to innovate electronic music, particularly in regards to integrating visual art and techno. Raised in the former GDR, Dettmann developed his passion for electronic music early, counting new wave, post-punk and industrial music as his strongest influences – long before discovering techno and eventually immersing himself in it. Since the early 90s he has been a fixture in Berlin as both an artist and DJ, becoming a resident at OstGut in 1999. He has also held a residency at OstGut's successor Berghain since its opening in 2004 until today. Dettmann’s productions for his own MDR imprint and Ostgut Ton, as well as his compilations and mixes for fabric, Music Man, !K7 and Dekmantel sit between contemporary techno and pre-techno, providing a unique aesthetic at once reduced and rough, emotional and unpredictable.Their RA profile lists Music Man Records, BPitch, Ostgut Ton, Rekids and 6 more.Last at Berghain in Sep · often with nd_baumecker, Tama Sumo, Rødhåd, none of them here on Saturday

“THE GOAL IS NOTHING.”
their own biography
the whole biography
THE GOAL IS NOTHING. THE MOVEMENT IS EVERYTHING. Born in the suburbs of Paris and now based in Berlin, Quelza has developed a body of work defined by precision and intent, free from categorisation. His path hasn’t followed scene momentum or passing waves. It unfolds according to its own internal logic — a steady refinement of sound, structure and space. Releases on Dekmantel and Ostgut Ton trace that evolution clearly. Each record carefully engineered: futuristic, grounded, detailed without excess. Tension builds patiently. Rhythms shift and reconfigure. Atmospheres stretch and contract. There is clarity in his music, but never repetition — the framework is solid, the direction always moving forward. Behind the decks, Quelza’s sets don’t rely on genre markers or obvious peaks. He works with pacing, contrast and control — moving between pressure and restraint, density and openness. Rather than chasing reaction, he shapes progression. A regular at institutions such as Berghain, Basement, Fabric and beyond - which reflects something earned over time: trust in his vision and in his ability to hold a room without shortcuts. Quelza’s approach resists short term payoff. The emphasis is on continuity, developing a trajectory that grows with intention over time.Their RA profile lists Ostgut Ton, Mord, 47, Dekmantel UFO and 1 more.Recently at Berghain, arkaoda Berlin · often with cotton, Massimiliano Pagliara, The Carry Nation, none of them here on Saturday

Since the release of his debut EP Postcards in 2022, Anish Kumar has emerged as a major talent from the UK’s electronic music scene. The 25-year-old British-Indian artist has received repeated co-signs from Four Tet, Daphni, Bonobo, Danny Howard and Pete Tong, with a slew of critically acclaimed releases leading to his selection for a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and Spotify’s RADAR programme. Kumar pulls influence from multiple cultural touchstones, from Northern soul to classic Bollywood, incorporating elements into his signature tapestry of analogue warmth and rough-edged sampling. By resolutely upholding this eclectic sonic architecture in his DJ sets, he has earned bookings at formidable festivals including Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, Lost Village, Dialled In, Four Tet’s All-Dayer, and Field Day, as well as repeat appearances at revered venues such as The Warehouse Project and Printworks. After a successful debut run in North America last year, he returned to support Barry Can’t Swim in April this year. Anish kicked off this year by selling out his debut headline show at Peckham’s Carpet Shop in 30 minutes. He also teamed up with Armenian DJ Hagop Tchaparian for Kino, a two-part release engineered for the dancefloor, where dense rolling percussion meets the haunting, emotive drift of the Turkish tulum. The rest of the year will see Anish releasing a dual compendium of dancefloor-ready tracks, tried and tested through numerous appearances at clubs and festivals throughout the UK and internationally.Their RA profile lists Technicolour and AWAL Recordings.Recently at Berghain · often with Extra Meesh, Alyssa Stowers, Bonobo, none of them here on Saturday

“Fantastic Man is the long-running alias of Mic Newman — DJ, producer, and label head.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Fantastic Man is the long-running alias of Mic Newman — DJ, producer, and label head. Emerging from Melbourne’s club scene, he built an international reputation for his distinctive take on electronic music: spacious, hypnotic, and guided by a Balearic sensibility that gives even the most functional tracks a sense of drift. For over a decade, Newman has maintained a catalogue that moves with the times but never scatters — staying fresh without ever feeling forced. While his music has appeared across a wide range of respected labels — mule musiq, Love on the Rocks, Kalahari Oyster Kult, Basic Spirit — it’s through his own imprint, Superconscious Records, that he’s released his most enduring work. Cult favourites like Trance Sexual, Sun Express, and the two-part Visions of Dance series marked defining moments: immersive, tripped-out, and quietly ambitious. In 2024, a second label, Axis of People, opened further space to explore more club-ready output, with releases like the Axis of People EP and Genesis offering sharp distillations of his trademark approach. Solidifying a reputation not for volume, but for precision. There’s a restraint to his work — a refusal to overstate — that has led to lasting respect from peers across the scene. His records often circulate quietly among DJs before becoming staples in their sets, valued for their versatility and longevity. As both a producer’s producer and a DJ’s DJ, Newman brings the same clarity and intention to the booth as he does to the studio. Touring regularly, he continues to share his distinctive sound at respected clubs and festivals around the world.Their RA profile lists Mule Musiq, Love On The Rocks, Superconscious Records, Kitjen and 2 more.Recently at Club der Visionaere, OST, arkaoda Berlin · often with Courtney Bailey, Yuzo Iwata, Huerta, none of them here on Saturday

“Wise portrays a deep sense of knowledge and maturity, devising atmospheric soundscapes with a raw but modern touch, captivating the listener from beginning to end.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Wise portrays a deep sense of knowledge and maturity, devising atmospheric soundscapes with a raw but modern touch, captivating the listener from beginning to end. His sets demonstrate this to full effect, consistently maintaining a powerful sonic trademark via a low end focused, yet intricate and enchanting selection. Indeed, the capacity to dip in between deeper realms of sound and rhythmic exploration aids the artists preference towards longer sets. Before discovering the world of electronic music, Wise came from a background of drum and percussion which was guided by his Iranian father, a former professional drummer. This influence plays a key part in shaping the foundation of techno that he crafts. Subsequently, exposure to Europe’s dancefloors further triggered his passion, allowing him to understand the importance of the interaction between the physicality of sound on the human body. Fast-forward to 2024, this notion gave birth to his label ‘Moving Pressure’. Conceptually, as the title already hints at, the imprint focuses on the capacity of sound to guide movement and emotion, to weave into the fabric of our physical being. Concretely, the first release features a 4 tracker by Wise himself and will proceed by showcasing his sonic vision through self and external releases. The artist’s 'quality over quantity’ mindset has seen him become a mainstay on influential labels such as Mote Evolver and his pure but passionate approach to music has given him the honour of gracing institutions such as Berghain and Bassiani and earned him a residency at the esteemed underground Eerste Communie parties hailing from The Netherlands. “Born in the Netherlands, Steffi began playing records in her small home town in the mid 90s.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Born in the Netherlands, Steffi began playing records in her small home town in the mid 90s. In search of broader horizons for her creative expression (a common thread in her artistic journey), Steffi moved to Amsterdam and established herself in the city with DJ residencies and her own underground parties. The diverse approach to sound that she cultivated during this period remains fundamental to all aspects of her creative work today. Resistant to conventional notions of career moves or self-promotion, it was her original vision and pursuit of new challenges that brought her to Berlin in the early 00s and to the city’s emblematic Berghain. As one of the club’s more adaptable residents, Steffi can be found in control of any one of the building’s celebrated dancefloors, transmitting her deep knowledge and appreciation for all forms of dance music. From broken beat, IDM, electro, classic house and Detroit techno to genre-breaking sounds from all eras – Steffi will play it as long as it’s funky and it grooves. Her experience and lasting enthusiasm for her craft have translated effortlessly to the international clubs and festivals – big and small – at which she has long been a staple, as well as to milestone mixes and compilations for Berghain/Panoramabar, fabric and Air Texture. As a producer, Steffi has an extensive discography that reflects her constant development as a musician. A long and fertile relationship with Ostgut Ton began with the release of her hit single Yours (2010) and debut album Yours & Mine (2011) (both reissued in 2022 on DESTEFSTER, her new sub-label dedicated to her own club-oriented output past and present). Two further solo albums followed – Power Of Anonymity (2014) and World Of The Waking State (2017) – and a co-production on Virginia’s debut album, Fierce For The Night (2016). With Martyn, Steffi released the Doms & Deykers album Evidence From A Good Source (2016) on 3024, and under the solo alias Crushed Soul she released the Family Of Waves EP (2020) on Dark Entries. As a remixer, Steffi has worked with both established artists and emerging producers whose music resonates with her, most recently Christine And The Queens, St Vincent, SebastiAn, Josh Caffé, Max Cooper, Azo and FJAAK. Through all of this output, Steffi has developed a varied sound that balances classic dancefloor accessibility with a desire to push at the boundaries of genre convention and production techniques. In parallel with her production work, Steffi has nurtured two long-running labels – Klakson, founded in 2000, and Dolly, founded in 2010 – which continue to release a distinct blend of electro, breaks, Chicago and Detroit house and techno by a range of respected producers to this day. Both imprints have also been home to Steffi’s own joint projects with likeminded artists, such as Dexter, Stingray, Shed, John Daly and, more recently, Sepehr and Privacy (as Negroni Nails). Her reputation for collaboration and expertise in the studio has also seen her perform the role of mentor for several music education programmes, including Red Bull Music Academy in 2018. In recent years, Steffi’s tireless search for new ground has been made tangible in a permanent move to Portugal, where, with Virginia, she founded the label, studio space and artist-driven creative hub Candy Mountain, a platform through which she continues to push herself and the community around her forwards. This new home base in the hills outside Lisbon – framed by an abundant garden that she tends with the same care as her ever growing studio – gives a simple, even romantic impression, but its relevance and impact, like Steffi’s, are truly global. The first project that captures the spirit of Candy Mountain is her latest solo LP, The Red Hunter. With her new studio setup, she plunges even deeper into the details of sound processing, bringing complex, modulating grooves and textures into the foreground while intentionally preserving the song-like arrangements that have always made her work so relatable. For Steffi, the process itself is as rewarding, if not more so, than the final output, and she applies this same attitude to the careful planning and curation of her unique live performances. All of these new initiatives are the latest proof of the hard work, determination and total immersion in music that have led Steffi to where she is today, while also being the perfect indication of where she wants to go in the future.Their RA profile lists Ostgut Ton, Underground Quality, Tsuba Records, Klakson and 6 more.Recently at Berghain, Haus der Visionäre · often with nd_baumecker, Efdemin, Lakuti, none of them here on Saturday
“Growing up in Munich, the talented, energetic and dedicated artist quickly found her feet in music.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Growing up in Munich, the talented, energetic and dedicated artist quickly found her feet in music. Her career kick-started in the late 90s thanks to a wave of early hit singles, and she soon began to tour as a DJ, discovering a real passion for life in front of the crowd. Inspired by the warm and analog tracks of the 80s and 90s, her DJ sets combine this sound with modern a in an exciting fusion, layered with spontaneous live vocals adding a unique third dimension. With a careful mixture of peaks and also moments of reduction, she commands attention in her hybrid DJ / Live performances. Her song-writing and production projects continued to grace the charts and hold her in great respect in the scene. Her full length album, 'Twisted Mind', was released in 2008 on Rough Trade, co-produced with Eye- Q Records' Steve B-Zet; a wonderfully musical cross-over album that found its way into Film and TV airplay. The album was a positive blend of electro-pop, a project which saw Virginia touring live on stage with a 5-piece band. Viriginia co-wrote a wealth of productions and guest appearances, alongside the likes of Steve Bug, Butch, Abe Duque and most recently with Panorama Bar resident Steffi, on her album 'Yours & Mine'. Beginning with a vocal-led collaboration, 'Reasons', on Jus Ed's acclaimed label Underground Quality in Oct 2010, they have since gone on to produce some very exciting results. Steffi's album focuses two tracks around Virginia's vocals which she feels really reflect her true musical direction - the tracks 'Yours', a rousing hit in the making, and the touching 'You Own My Mind' (both released on Berlin's Ostgut Ton in Feb 2011). Virginia's rich, colourful and vibrant voice has brought a golden touch to her widespread and highly respected release catalogue, and she continues to collaborate with some of electronic music's key players. Always developing her own production skills, she released her first solo production "Loch& Hill" on Ostgut Ton, 8th of april 2013. Another Ep for Ostgut Ton was released september 2014. And her first studio album "Fierce For The Night" was just released in may 2016.Their RA profile lists Poker Flat Recordings, Ostgut Ton, Underground Quality, Abe Duque Records and 6 more.Last at Berghain in Sep · often with Tama Sumo, nd_baumecker, Fiedel, none of them here on Saturday
