We have something special lined up for you this October 9th — our next dance welcomes a couple of our personal favourites, Steven Julien (live) and Lakuti, in celebration of this year’s TAG DER CLUBKULTUR in Berlin.
Steven Julien, hailing from London, has been an influential figure in underground electronic music for the last 10+ years via his unmistakable sound – heavily drenched in 808s and overdrive whilst being welded with euphoric synth pads and 303 squelches. His label, Apron Records, has been consistently putting out top tier music since its inception and with new solo album ‚808 PRINCE’ on the horizon, we’re honoured to have him play live at SHUSH. This is a rare occurrence so do not sleep.
Additionally, Lakuti is joining us – one of Berlin’s most cherished selectors, producers, and curators. Originally from Soweto, South Africa, Lakuti has deeply shaped Berlin nightlife as Berghain/Panorama Bar resident and Uzuri label head. Alongside with Tama Sumo, she’s established the long-running event series ‚Bring Down the Walls‘ as well as ‚Your Love‘, celebrating guests from the Black and LGBTIQ+ communities both in and outside of the DJ booth.
Alongside our guests, and celebrating four years of SHUSH on this occasion, all of our residents – Ken Okuda, D’Monk & Orlando Rosé – will be supplying sounds & vibrations on our own sound system, which we will be bringing out to celebrate with you in style.

D’Monk (pronounced duh’munk) is an instrumentalist, producer and selector from London with heavy ties to Berlin. His music emanates the raw and the soulful — representing an eclectic collage of his influences — whether in the form of recorded songs, DJ sets or his body-stirring live performances. It’s an approach which has seen him gain support from a varied who’s who; from Brainfeeder’s Flying Lotus and Dorian Concept to DJ Spinna, Rush Hour and ADE 2024, where he is set to perform his trademark live set blend of analogue driven grooves and luscious, soulful soundscapes. In October 2024, he drops his debut EP ‘Shine’ via London’s well-respected Touching Bass. Across six tracks, D’Monk makes a strong claim for strongest introduction of the year, falling somewhere between warm-n-fuzzy electro, LDN broken beat, beatdown and the drunken, undefinable soul-dance of Detroit. With Ken Okuda, Orlando Rosé, Amirah Aziz and Annalisa La Mela, D’Monk runs the Berlin-based party and soon-to-be label, Shush. Orlando Rosé (he/him) is a keys player, producer and DJ based in Berlin. He is co-founder of the SHUSH collective and the Pinewax label family. He releases music on his own as well as through several projects, being half of the producer duo dibou and collaborating with artists such as Yasmin Umay, D’Monk, GEEGEE, uyulala and Andrea Stefano.
