Known for his sleek DJ sets and cutting-edge productions, Jepe is a name that resonates with both industry veterans and new generations of electronic music enthusiasts. Jepe's musical journey began in Aveiro, a coastal town near Porto, where he was drawn to the rhythmic energy of the ocean. His passion for music ignited early, leading him to his first radio show at just 16, and by 19, he was already commanding the decks at one of the biggest clubs in his hometown. His early rise to prominence foreshadowed the impactful career that was to come. As one half of the celebrated duo Johnwaynes, Jepe made waves with releases on prestigious labels like Mulemusiq, Compost Records, Get Physical, and Cecille. The duo's innovative approach left an indelible mark on the scene, but in 2013, Jepe embarked on a solo path, a decision that has since catapulted him to new heights. Now, with an impressive solo discography spanning top labels such as Diynamic, Sum Over Histories, Moodmusic, Multinotes, Isolate, and Engraved Ltd, Jepe is a dynamic force in the electronic world. As the founder of the rising label Eastern Standard, Jepe is not only a pioneering artist but also a visionary curator, pushing forward the boundaries of electronic music. His relentless creativity extends beyond the decks; as a skilled mix engineer at Berlin’s renowned Blackhead Studios, Jepe shapes sound with technical prowess, ensuring that his—and others'—music reaches listeners with unparalleled clarity and depth. Jepe’s trajectory shows no signs of slowing down. His dedication to evolving the electronic music landscape, both as a producer and label head, positions him as one of the most promising and influential figures in today’s scene. Born in Finland in 1973, Klas Lindblad has been djing since the end of the 80s, dwelling first thru pop music and eventually finding electronic music in the early 90s. He was running one of the first house clubs in Turku, Finland from 92-96 and was a regular guest at the major parties in the Finnish electronic scene. At this time he also started to work on production and soon the first releases came out on Sähkö/Puu as Freestyle Man. His early work has been considered a milestone in the Scandinavian house sound and the original 12-inches are still very much sought after. In 1996 he started Moodmusic with the first release, "Sasse Presents...", a 4 track EP with influences from NYC and Detroit house. Instantly creating a havoc on European dance floors, the following releases put Moodmusic on the map of recognized house labels with the distinctive sound and top-notch A&R abilities of Sasse and his close-circuit artist roster. Fast forward to 1999 and Sasse leaves Finland for Frankfurt am Main to start a residency at the famous Robert Johnson club. He is running his highly successful “Finnish First“ nights there from 2000 - 2003 after which he decides to move to Berlin. The early releases from Henrik Schwarz on Moodmusic culminates in 2003 with the birth of Sunday Music, a musical platform for Sasse and Henrik productions. At the same time Sasse started Must! Records for more obscure disco, italo and chicago house edits. In 2005 he builds his beloved BlackHead Studios in Prenzlauer Berg with companions Ewan Pearson and Filippo "Naughty" Moscatello and starts to work on his first artist album. The album "Made Within The Upper Stair Of Heaven” is released on Moodmusic in 2006 to critical acclaim and the singles, "Soul Sounds", "Loosing Touch" (featuring the distinctive vocals of Kiki) and "Up To You” makes waves on dance floors around the globe. In 2007 a special collaboration called "It’s All True" between Tracey Thorn and the production team of Sasse, Darshan Jesrani and Ewan Pearson was featured on Tracey’s last album, "Out Of The Woods". The single release featured remixes from Martin Buttrich, Kris Menace and Escort and was one of the summer tunes of 2007. During the week Sasse is nailed on his studio chair working under one of his many pseudonyms but starting on Friday he transforms into his first love, the djing. Over the last 5 years, the success of his productions and remixes brought him to nearly all-good House-clubs worldwide. Doing his bi-monthly residencies at Berghain/Panorama Bar and Weekend he keeps the Berlin club land busy. He has just released his 2nd studio album called "Toinen" ( “second” in Finnish) which was well received all over the dance community. The single "Break Up" with remixes from The Timewriter and Dirt Crew was a major underground hit earlier in the year and the "Toinen Remix" album which will the see the day of light in spring 2009 will keep the fire burning. Furthermore he´s just released hot 12-inches on Berwick Street (UK), Forensic (UK) and Hairy Claw (UK). He’s also currently remixing King Roc, C-Rock and Paul Hardy and is working on a Sasse single for Room With A View and Freestyle Man album for Hairy Claw (UK).Their RA profile lists Galaktika Records, Moodmusic, Darkroom Dubs, Deepology Digital and 6 more.Recently at OXI, Schokoladen, Kante Nkln · often with Anaté, DJ Fresh Garlic, MADAM, none of them here on Friday

Amine’s self prescribed job description is to put a smile on people’s faces by sharing his music, be that as a DJ or through his productions, happiness is at the core of everything he does. Through production and DJing, Amine discovered a life without restrictions, a distinct purpose to pursue. The majority of Amine’s productions feature ode’s to his African roots, however, his musical influences vary from Danny Tenaglia, to Deep Dish, Erick Morillo, Nick Warren, and even BB King. His selective label appearances have been poignant moments in his music career. Sol Selectas proved to be a launchpad to the world, their family a most welcoming one. More recent releases on the likes of Alex Niggeman’s Aeon and the esteemed Get Physical Music are a marker of where Amine’s sound is moving. As a touring artist, he has embraced the unknown, planting the electronic music flag in new territories around the world, helping to develop real underground communities everywhere from Myanmar to Mauritius. On more familiar terrain, in 2019 he made his Boiler Room debut at the Grid in Dubai alongside stop-offs for his Moroko Loko party at Montreal, Tokyo, Paris and Berlin. The party provides a twin benefit, often bringing international acts to Morocco for the first time while also introducing African influences to the world. Not to mention his annual presence at Burning Man, his sunrise sets at Robot Heart the perfect summation of his musical identity.Their RA profile lists Get Physical Music, Stereo Productions, Systematic Recordings, Souvenir Music and 6 more.Last at Maaya in Aug · often with CEDRIC MARIAN, mala (germany), C.M.A., none of them here on Friday

“Kristin Velvet is a risk-taker in life and in music.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Kristin Velvet is a risk-taker in life and in music. She's an adventurer who embraces her inner impulses and goes wherever the party will take her. Her high-energy selections are designed to help people escape the every day and get lost in the moment. Too groovy to be techno, too hard to be house, she operates in her own in-between world where memorable moments come thick and fast. Though Kristin has fully broken out in the last years, her journey has roots that go back a decade. In that time she has honed her craft with high-level educations on various fronts: with a seven year residency at Berlin's Watergate where she has learned the art of warming up and closing down for extended periods and myriad different acts. Those lessons mean she is as able now to lock down a heady room full of freaks and misfits at places like Boiler Room and Night Tales in London, Culture Box in Copenhagen or Amnesia and Hi in Ibiza as she is to captivate vast crowds everywhere from Fusion Fesival, Exit Festival and Snowbombing. One thing is for sure, the Australian plays with her own kind of intensity. Her love of the party means she quickly works through the tempos and calls on sounds so colourful and characterful that dance floors forget their woes and lose themselves in the moment. Her love of 90s sounds from Chicago, Detroit and the UK big beat underpin her simple mission to "make people dance, move their bodies and have fun" without overthinking things. As a producer, Kristin is just as varied and vital. She has released most of her music on Arms & Legs, which she manages alongside Daniel Steinberg. It's a vehicle for the pair to put out what they want, when they want to, all independently and without outside pressures. Her own tracks are defined by a sense of space - space for the kicks to kick, the melodies to catch you and the groove to move you. She has done it all from bouncy to raw, more minimal to jacked up and more recently a stripped-back techno sound for Josh Wink's Ovum including a remix from the boss himself and an EP for Damian Lazarus's Crosstown Rebels which included a collaboration with deep house legend Fred P. Flying in and out of cities, tearing up the dance floor and leaving sweaty brows and smiling faces in her wake. "Fun" is a word over-serious selectors shy away from, but not Kristin: she is both having it and creating it in equal measure.Their RA profile lists Ovum Recordings, Crosstown Rebels, Watergate Records, Hot Creations and 5 more.Recently at Club der Visionaere, Tausend, Kater · often with Anja Schneider, EXTRAEXTRAEXTRA, EXTRAEXTRA, none of them here on Friday
