Carter Van Pelt

10 listings in 4 named rooms, over the last three years

Carter Van Pelt founded Coney Island Reggae On The Boardwalk in 2010 – one of the world’s only regular, all-vinyl reggae soundsystem events, now held four times each summer on the iconic Brooklyn boardwalk.

He has performed at dozens of venues and events in New York, including SummerStage; events including the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival and Reggae On The Rocks; and venues ranging from The Shelter in Shanghai, China to Donna Karan’s seaside mansion, The Sanctuary, in Turks and Caicos, and for Diplo’s 40th birthday dinner and beach party in Portland, Jamaica.

For ten years, he hosted the long running Saturday morning radio program on Columbia University’s WKCR-FM and has years of community radio and commercial broadcasting experience.

Their rooms

One tick a night, on the one axis this page has — Aug 2023, where the listings start, to Jan 2027, the last night anybody has announced. The shaded end has not happened yet.

Aug 2023Jan 2027

Once each: Ace Hotel Brooklyn and Coney Island Boardwalk. One of the 10 listings never named a room, and is not counted as one.

Who they play with

Counted from the bills themselves, over bills of twelve names or fewer. A pair's count includes a night that is announced and not yet played; where there is one, the row says when.
