DJ KIM LIGHTFOOT、ブルックリン出身の彼から発せられる音楽はHOUSEというフィルターを通して何処までも踊り続けられるようにうねるBEATと繊細でエレガントな旋律が共存するまさにBLACK MUSICど真ん中のダンスミュージックである。一度聞いた人はやみつきになり、どうしても彼のDJでないと満足出来ない。そんな彼を毎年待ち続けているファンが日本中にいるのだ。幼少の頃からディスコやソウル・ミュージック、ブレイクビーツに夢中になり、その後LOFT やPARADISE GARAGE等のクラブでLARRY LEVANやDAVID MANCUSOのプレイするシリアス・ダンス・ミュージックに影響を受けDJを開始。90年代前半に絶大な人気を誇った伝説のパーティー”AFTER LIFE”にて、盟友KALIM SHABAZZと共にレジデントDJとして活躍。その後UNDERGROUND NETWARKのFUNK HUTでレジデントとしてプレイ、またTHE SHELTER、BODY&SOUL、CAVIARなど、N.Y～BROOKLYNでの歴史的なUNDERGROUND DANCE PARTYでゲストDJとしてプレイしている。RON TRENTとも親交があり、共にTONY ALLEN(AFRO BEATの帝王FELA KUTIのバンドAFRIKA 70のオリジナル・ドラマーで、AFRO BEATの発明、進化の過程でFELAに絶大な影響を与えたアーティスト。)のREMIXも手がけている。TIMMY REGISFORD やDANNY KRIVIT、NICK JONES、ANDRE COLLINS等の名だたるDJ達からも絶対の信頼を得ている正にDJ’S DJである。MIXCLOUD https://www.mixcloud.com/discover/kim-lightfoot/
