Anthony Middleton, a classically trained musician, has been immersed in music from a very young age. He penned his first song at just 8, marking the start of an enduring love affair with music. As a youth, he frequented acid house, early rave, and techno events in the UK, where he developed a fascination with the genre that turned into a lifelong commitment in 1992 when he purchased his first synthesiser. Middleton's early career found him behind the decks in iconic clubs in Marbella, and he solidified his production skills in the mid-90s at one of the UK's pioneering music technology schools. His passion led him to the heart of London's vibrant dance music scene. However, a genetic illness forced him to retreat from this bustling world. During several years of recovery, he turned to meditation and the practice of Tibetan Bön, a deep introspective period that saw him further refine his music production skills under the mentorship of renowned producer and musician Merv de Peyer. While this health setback could have signaled the end of Middleton's house music career, a fortuitous encounter with Luca Saporito in 2002 sparked a new chapter. Over the past fifteen years, YokoO has toured internationally, bringing his hypnotic and emotionally rich approach to dancefloors across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia. His productions reflect the same philosophy: deep, meditative grooves built around subtle textures and emotional resonance. Releases such as Pachamama (on Get Physical’s Kindisch), Euneirophrenia (on All Day I Dream) and Jivanmuktih (On Crosstown Rebels’ Rebellion) marked key milestones in his artistic evolution and continue to receive support from influential artists worldwide. As the founder of SATYA, YokoO has built a globally respected vinyl-focused imprint dedicated to uncompromising artistic expression and carefully curated electronic music. What began as a personal vision has developed into an expanding catalogue distributed internationally and supported by a growing network of artists and collectors. Beyond his own label, he also serves as A&R for Toka Musik, further extending his role as a curator and tastemaker within the scene. As a DJ, YokoO approaches the dancefloor as a space for long-form storytelling. Based primarily in Lisbon, he holds a monthly residency at Rūmu, where his sets unfold through deep, minimal and hypnotic soundscapes. The fusion of western music and Arabic influence has put Beirut on the map as the epicenter of the world's greatest cities. "Mashrik", aka Michael, who is half Lebanese/Egyptian gets his inspiration from within. Mashrik, which translates to east in Arabic, is where the sun rises to the Mashriq region surrounding Egypt. He moved to the U.S in 2014 after having grown up in Beirut his entire life. Expect his sound to be unique and unorthodox, from Oud and Qanun blends with riveting house. He hopes to eclipse and leave his trademark sound across the world. Currently residing in New York City, he can be found spinning in various venues solidifying his footprint in another global city. When he started clubbing at a young age in Lebanon, people would always ask him "what drug are you on?" as they saw him dancing like crazy to some of the best tunes. His answer was always: "the music is my drug", but no one would truly believe him and were adamant that he had ingested some sort of pill. In his own words: “Music is what I enjoy the most in my life, so I decided to become a Dj and an Event producer with the goal of creating new experiences for people and sharing with them the ecstatic feeling that I get when I hear the sound of a sax, piano and oriental instruments blended into refined house beats." He's played alongside renowned artists such as Armen Miran (Hoomidas Records), Davi (Crosstown Rebels), Lemurian, Elfenberg(Stil Vor Talent), Miichii (Wayu Records), Mandrake (Mayan Warrior), Dramian (Mayan Warrior), Magician on Duty, David Hohme, just to name a few . His footprint expands to other countries, such as Canada and Mexico where he played at M.N Roy - the most exclusive private club in Mexico City. He recently started producing his own music and will be releasing some of his work in the next year. He is also the producer of a monthly event series called Kuná, which was started in January 2019 and have consistently sold out.
