Angel Sanz, also known as Rogers.ec, embarked on his musical journey at a young age in Ecuador, immersing himself in the vibrant punk rock scene. Throughout his early years, he passionately participated in various musical projects, honing his skills and nurturing his love for music. In 2012, Angel made a pivotal move to Brooklyn, NY, where he found himself captivated by the pulsating world of techno music. This newfound passion drove him to start performing in small gigs and underground clubs, igniting a spark that would shape his future. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of genres such as punk, hardcore, acid, melodic, groovy and deep electronic sounds, Angel's artistic persona, Rogers.ec, began to take shape. This amalgamation of influences contributed to a distinctive and innovative style that sets him apart in the electronic music landscape. Intrigued by the boundless possibilities of a solo career, Angel delved into the world of DJing and producing. In 2019, he embarked on his professional journey, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the dynamic NYC Techno scene being resident of collectives such as Taken NYC, Shift and Solace. Rogers.ec has been playing techno for numerous podcasts and showcases from around the world. Some notable mentions include "Corrupt Systems" and "Techno Files" from the UK, "3pTechno" from Slovenia, "Eagle Sessions," "Kontrollverlust," and "Konflikt" from Germany, "Sound XXperiment" from Italy, and "Vector Radio" from Brazil. Additionally, they have collaborated with "OFF Group" from Bahrain, "DanceCO" and "settheBeat" from Colombia, "Techno Envision" and "Required Noise" from the USA, and "ARTQ" from Australia, just to highlight a few examples. In 2021, he burst onto the production scene with "Deep Thoughts" on Warrior City Records, soaring to #36 on Beatport's Techno chart. Following this, he independently dropped "Mind in Space" and "Inflammable" on Bandcamp. By 2022, he joined forces with Lets Techno Records, presenting his EP "Puesta del Sol." The release secured an impressive #6 spot on Beatport's Techno Raw chart for six consecutive weeks, further boosted by a compelling remix by Dusan Gargurevich. And in 2023, a significant milestone was achieved: his debut vinyl via Colombia's BCR label, amassing widespread support from DJs worldwide. This journey reflects his exceptional talent and enduring commitment to the realm of electronic music. Rogers.ec, represents a unique fusion of diverse musical influences, bringing a refreshing and captivating energy to the techno music landscape.
