The tracks are brought to life through visualizations from longtime collaborator Nam Mac, whose work channels similar influence— together they've built a world for listeners to get lost in, one that's been synced with campaigns for Marc Jacobs' Heavn, Adidas, and G-Shock. The breakout moment came during a support set for Sammy Virji at Elsewhere in Brooklyn, when a clip of wev's edit of the Cowboy Bebop theme "TANK!" went viral, racking up tens of millions of streams and extending his universe through the same kind of playful reference that defines his production. That connection has come full circle through games themselves— "watchyaback!" became a standout on the OST of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, the critically acclaimed spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio, and "shigoto werk" was placed in Rocket League in early 2026. Built independently and grown organically from New York and Tokyo outward, his debut album OST— as in original soundtrack, the format that first carried this music to him and now the definitive statement of his own, arrives May 2026.
