The gleam of cosmic light reflects on polished surfaces, sometimes tracing long smooth curves, other times ending in edges, outlining a powerful machine that pierces a path between the gravitational pull of a black hole and the attraction of a newly-born star’s brightness. If Lewis Fautzi´s sound could be captured in material form, it would look something like this. You can draw a similar parallel to his career so far. Lewis Fautzi has had a meteoric ascension in the global techno scene like a projectile fired into space at the speed of light. Establishing the norm of releasing on well-respected labels, in 2013 his first noteworthy edition came on Soniculture, a label from his home country Portugal. Fautzi then started a lineage of releases on classic techno label Slam´s imprint Soma Quality. His first release on the label was the powerful ‘Turn’ EP, followed by the trippy ‘Binary’ which received an Oscar Mulero remix. The third release for Fautzi on Soma was the relentlessly undulating ‘Range’ before cumulating in his 2014 debut album ‘The Gare Album’, named after the Porto club which has served as his creative impulse and the launch platform for his career. His reputation growing with every release, early support came from the legendary Jeff Mills. Playing multiple productions of his in a single set, it was the definitive seal of approval for a promising creator beginning to define his sound and style. By 2015 and still at just Fautzi’s catalogue had exploded: two EPs on Figure; two releases on Pole Group which including an EP of originals remixed by Exium and Kwartz; a single on the ‘Unknown Landscapes Vol.2’ compilation; a track on Warm-Up (Oscar Mulero providing the remix); and on his own beloved Faut Section imprint, a collaboration with Pär Grindvik that led to an Oscar Mulero EP with two Lewis Fautzi remixes. Fautzi also dropped a second album on Soma, ‘Space Exploration’, full of highly conceptual material, as personal as it feels alien, where Fautzi displayed his insatiable thirst for musical knowledge and exploration by broadening his horizons towards more ambient and experimental sound forms. Fast-forward to 2019 where Fautzi has now produced four albums: ‘The Gare Album’, ‘Space Exploration’, ‘The Ascension Of Mind’ and most recently ‘Insanity Department’ on Faut Section, a visionary showpiece outside of the world of Techno. Fautzi also holds more than ten new EP’s on spearhead labels including Pole Group, Bpitch Berlin, Warm Up Recordings, Soma and Figure, and has provided the selection and mix for Polegroup’s ‘Unknown Landscapes Vol.6’. Outside of the studio and Fautzi has provided interstellar experiences as both a DJ and as a live-act, on dancefloors such as Tresor, Gare, Lux Frágil and of course Berghain, to name a few. Luís Gonçalves (Fautzi’s real name) hails from the small town of Barcelos, Portugal. He lives and breathes Techno. not only in his passion for production but also in his perpetual study and absorption of the art form in all its perspectives. Fautzi takes hold of an arsenal of ideas and notions and synthesizes these into his own sounds whilst adhering to the fundamentals, his productions and sets creating a truly magnetic force that appeals to Techno heads of all persuasions. There are the Mills-ian cosmic tones, the subterranean echoes of Berlin, the impact of British industrialists and the peculiar groove of the Spanish scene, but everything has that definitive Lewis Fautzi stamp. The growing amplitude of his vision, the maturity and depth of his output from the beginning and the recognition of his peers from so early on has continuously demonstrated Lewis Fautzi´s vision. We simply wonder, where his explorations will take him - and us - next?Their RA profile lists Soma Records, BPitch, Figure, PoleGroup Recordings and 3 more.often with Elle Dee, Sept, Meda-Ava, none of them here that night

Having cut his teeth over the last decade coming up through Brooklyn’s warehouse scene, NYC-based Auspex has solidified himself as a regular fixture and contributor to its underground techno community, a DJ, producer, label boss and tireless organizer very much at home in the city's vibrant queer nightlife scene. Having made regular appearances over the years at such legendary parties like The Bunker, Merge and Unter, he soon found himself at the helm of the transcendent party ALTÆR when Basement emerged onto the club-scape. Now six years running, ALTÆR has become known for its immersive and music-driven line-ups, pulling the together some of the world’s best international techno and house talents. He’s also made frequent appearances in Berlin at venues like RSO , Griessmuehle and most recently Berghain, as well as appearances at underground functions like Pornceptual, Gegen and STAUB. Most recently, he launched his own techno imprint Templum to showcase his production work and some of the hottest and most prolific producers of hypnotic and raw techno working in the industry today. With a healthy and robust release calendar already in the pipeline, Templum is poised to become a major source of dance floor fire power in the months and years ahead. Musically, Auspex conjures techno as a space of collective hypnosis—with sets that move with fluid precision and driving percussion through intergalactic expanses, leading dancers through spiraling grooves and sensory depth, shaping an experience that’s equal parts body ritual and psychedelic voyage. As a classically-trained multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, his compositions are in infused with narrative tension and a rambunctious mischief, driving dance floors to bedlam and then back again.Their RA profile lists Soma Records, Diffuse Reality, Whirlwind Trax, Oath and 2 more.often with Ne/Re/A, Juana, Boris, none of them here that night

“Some DJs burst upon the scene like a supernova, fading just as quickly.”

Some DJs burst upon the scene like a supernova, fading just as quickly. Others take years, even decades, to make their way—but those are the ones who make the most impact, thanks to a lifetime of accumulated musical wisdom. Mike Servito is a prime example of the latter. His career is one that’s defined by a slow and steady rise to upper ranks of the deejaying realm—and along the way, he’s perfected a jacking style that equal parts house, acid and techno, a sound that pays homage to the past while being very much of-the-moment. A Detroit-area native, Servito got his early education by tuning into the Electrifying Mojo and the Wizard (Jeff Mill’s radio moniker). By the early ’90s, Servito was primed to try his hand at the deejaying arts, “I was just kind of cocky about it,” he says. “I knew I could do it.” And he was right—in the DJ hotbed of Detroit, internalizing knowledge gleamed from the likes of Mike Huckaby and Claude Young, he kept working at it until he established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the Motor City circuit, eventually becoming a member in good standing with the inner circle of Ghostly International. But Servito felt the need for a change from the sometimes insular environment of Detroit. By the late ’00s, he was living in NYC with no real game plan in place. As it turned out, he didn’t really need one—he soon fell in with the city’s premier techno party, The Bunker, becoming one of its mainstay residents. Around the same time, he was beginning to make his presence known on a global scale, packing dance floors with gigs around the States and around the world. But it was a hometown festival snub in 2014 that really got things going. Servito had played Movement once before, in 2011. “And between then and 2014,” he recalls, “I had been playing so many Bunker parties, playing so many great gigs and my profile was rising—so I was sure they would book me again.” The invite never came. Instead, he booked himself at every Movement after-party he could, one of which was the annual No Way Back, a legendary throw down hosted by The Bunker New York and Detroit’s Interdimensional Transmissions label. The set, a riotously sweaty bleeps-and-beats affair, was recorded for posterity; unexpectedly but deservedly, it garnered a nod as the year’s No 1 online Mix of the Year on Resident Advisor. That was the spark that set Servito’s career aflame, the push that took him to the top. Since then, he’s cemented his status as one of the most respected spinners around, regularly manning the decks at such hallowed halls as Berlin’s Panorama Bar, London’s XOYO and Tokyo’s Contact, not to mention the world’s best festivals—including, of course Movement. And to this day, his approach to deejaying is refreshingly simple: “I really don’t think about it,” he says, “When I’m playing, I just dive in, and I’m OK.” He’s far more than okay—he’s one of the best around.Techno on 7, Acid on 5, House on 5 and Acid House on 3. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on The Bunker New York (2) and Interdimensional Transmissions (1); their RA profile also lists Firehouse and Honey Soundsystem. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Le Bain, Elsewhere, Knockdown Center · often with Shaun J.
