their own biography
the whole biography
Heavily influenced by innovators such as Throbbing Gristle and Floorplan, their productions encapsulated sounds that were inspired by the UK and Detroit, and were complimented with live spoken word. After moving to Berlin in 2016, they transitioned from performance art to DJing, where their sets on HÖR facilitated their breakthrough as a DJ. Having drawn inspiration from early industrial and techno pioneers, x3butterfly’s sets retain a raw and ominous quality, with a club twist. Prioritizing the eclectic, they often aim to take listeners on a story-telling journey while simultaneously keeping them on the dance floor. Their sets combine jungle, drum and bass, R&B, dubstep, techno, and other world sounds at 140-160 BPM. x3butterfly has played in various clubs in Mexico, Germany, Denmark, Greece, as well as a multitude of cities in the US. They have quickly become a rising NYC star, DJing notorious NYC venues such as Bossa Nova, Mood Ring, and Nowadays. You can find their most recent production titled “Holy War Remix” on Rubby’s Pájaro Malo Remix EP on Spotify.Bass Music on 2, Breaks on 2, House on 2 and Techno on 2. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Clasico Records (2) (1) and subglow (1); their RA profile also lists PLOT. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Paragon, Bossa Nova Civic Club, BASEMENT · often with The Carry Nation, Sterling Juan Diaz, Joy Orbison, none of them here that night
