Born and raised in Queens, a city dweller and a club kid, Kilopatrah has an innate and superlative gift for transferring energy from the booth to the dance floor—through exciting house, techno, and jungle, and moments that both harken to Sound Factory–era glory days and bring you to sweaty BPMs of the future. Their sets are palpably personal: The dance floor has always been a powerful platform for expression for Kilo, once as a freeing and connecting space for a quiet house dancer and now as one for moving others like them. When Kilo gets going, you’ll lose sense of the kick drum versus the beat of your own body against the floor. That’s a gift from them to you, and your percussion is a gift back to them. Kilo brings their energetic sass to a monthly Lot Radio residency and to parties with impressive lineups, playing alongside Todd Terry home in New York, at the legendary Movement weekend Club Toilet in Detroit, and for Boiler Room. Their mixes, for series such as Coloring Lessons, Honcho, and Juanita’s, and for spots on Rinse and Refuge, also capture the club at its most euphoric. You’ll step a little harder with Kilopatrah Jones. Words by Sacha MadadianLast at Jupiter Disco in Sep · often with Mike Servito, Dee Diggs, Annie Lew, none of them here that night

PlayPlay combines their penchant for percussion and bass with nostalgic samples & dreamy synths in both their DJ sets & music production. Their sound is inspired by over two decades of raving, crate digging and the sounds they grew up dancing to - 90s club anthems, jungle and DnB, minimal wave, classic house, techno and old school hip-hop. They have played at venues such as Good Room, Elsewhere, Jupiter Disco, MOMA PS1, and Bossa Nova Civic Club and at festivals such as Brooklyn Mag Festival. Over the past decade, they've had the privilege of playing alongside artists such as Big Freedia, TT the Artist, Le1f, Quest?onmarc, MikeQ, GRRL, UNIIQU3, Jubilee and Bored Lord, releasing guest mixes on The Lot Radio, Rinse FM, WIDE Radio, JEROME Worldwide and more. With releases out on labels such as Clasico Records, Sorry Records, Worst Behavior and Delusional Records, as well as a slew of self-releases and collaborations, PlayPlay has been slowly and steadily amassing a thumping discography over the years. Their music has been featured on radio programs such as BBC Radio 1, NTS Radio, Rinse FM and the Lot Radio and can be heard in underground clubs around the world (some of which they're probably dancing in). PlayPlay also loves to collaborate, remixing music from artists such as Bored Lord and Big Dipper and and has had their music remixed by Suzi Analogue, Jasmine Infiniti, Bored Lord, James Bangura, Scottie B, Escaflowne and more. PlayPlay and fellow queer southern producer C Powers have released their collaborative, slow cooked breakbeat EP Breaking Capacity under the moniker PowerPlay on Sorry Records. They currently host two parties: Breaking Capacity, a quarterly party dedicated to all things breaks, and Satisfaction of What’s to Come, a quarterly party celebrating the many iterations of house music.House on 8, Techno on 6, Breaks on 6 and Breakbeat on 5. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Clasico Records (2) (1), Delusional Records (2) (1) and No Bias (1); their RA profile also lists Sorry Records, FPE Records and Worst Behavior Recs. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Wonderville, Trans-Pecos · often with Janus Rose, MF BUTCH, Lychee, none of them here that night
