  JKriv is a Brooklyn-based producer, DJ, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and label owner. With a professional musical career stretching nearly 2 decades, J has gained serious attention recently for his original productions and inspired DJ sets, and was called “an innovator of the scene” by Defected Records boss Simon Dunmore. It’s a title he has rightly earned, with releases and remixes on Joey Negro’s Z Records, Soundway Records, his own label Razor-N-Tape, among many others, plus massive new singles and remixes for Glitterbox. J brings a seasoned musicality to everything he touches, whether original productions, remixes or reworks and re-edits. A trained musician, his talent for dazzling live instrumentation is evident in original disco productions like his recent Traxsource #1 Soul/ Funk/Disco track Not That Serious (Big Love), Vertigo (Z Records) and Yo Love (Glitterbox). As a studio musician he has recorded bass, guitar, and/or written string & horn arrangements for Dimitri From Paris, Horse Meat Disco feat. Kathy Sledge, and as the producer of the sprawling Studio 54 Music: Night Magic Vol. 1 project, J reimagined disco classics with brand-new all-live studio recordings, translated through his modern club approach, garnering nearly 1.5 million plays for the lead single Souvenirs. J has a slew of new music forthcoming later this year and into 2022, including a release Dam Swindle’s Heist Recordings, Razor-N-Tape, and Glitterbox. A purveyor of all things outer-national, JKriv has nurtured a long-standing love affair with the music of Brazil which he realized through his 2017 Férias ’77 LP compilation of reworks on Razor-N- Tape, his 2019 Aguaxirê EP on Detroit’s Rocksteady Disco, and multiple releases on Brazilian Mareh Festival’s label Barefoot Beats. He has remixed African artists for renowned labels Soundway and Africa Seven, and 80s French pop for label Pardonnez-Nous, and both classic and current Afro/Latin sounds for Razor-N-Tape. His music has garnered support from all quarters of club and radio DJs, such as Derrick Carter, Disclosure, Andrew Weatherall, Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Mark Farina, BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and BB6’s Craig Charles, among many others. Like his productions, JKriv’s DJ sets showcase his deep and diverse taste, weaving eclectic disco, house, and offbeat selections together seamlessly, always with an ear for groove and harmony, and an eye to the dance floor. As a founding member and resident DJ of Hot Honey Sundays, JKriv helped lead the most buzz-worthy new party of Brooklyn’s incredible comeback summer of 2021, growing a 2000+ devoted weekly following of dancers and a formidable social media presence. J has performed live and DJ’d in over 30 countries and in nearly every state in the continental US, sharing bills with Todd Terje, Tony Humphries, Dimitri From Paris, Joey Negro, and made his smashing debut at the Defected Croatia festival this past summer. A foundational member of the live disco band Escort, J has co-written/produced songs, and toured as bassist/guitarist with the group at Coachella, Sasquatch Festival, Electric Forest and innumerable club gigs around the world, as well as a original founding member and former bass player for the groundbreaking live-house group Tortured Soul. JKriv’s talents as a tastemaker extend beyond the studio and DJ booth, as co-owner of respected Brooklyn record label Razor-N-Tape. RNT now boasts a nearly 100-release-deep catalog that has garnered support and spins from some of the biggest names in modern club and radio, and is one of the most respected and consistent current independent dance music labels.

  A native of Brooklyn and current resident of Queens (New York), Jovonn has been active in the music scene since the age of 10. Supported by his mother, a keyboard player; and father, a guitar/bass player, who were aspiring R&B singers; he was nurtured with a solid musical foundation. Jovonn began his career as a Hip-Hop DJ at the age of 14 and started spinning records at those infamous New York block parties of the 80s where he was introduced to the growing New York House music scene, hanging out in seminal Brooklyn clubs such as Sapphires, Club Saturn and Club Serene. Years later clubs such as The Loft, The Choice, Snobbusters and Zanzibar, solidified his full commitment to House music. Exploding onto the house scene in 1991 with his second release, “Turn and Runaway” on Warner Bros. Records, (which reached number 10 on the Billboard chart and catapulted Jovonn on to the global scene) He then went on to set up his first record label, Goldtone Records, in the early 1990’s via Emotive Records (label compilation dropped on clone last year) and since then has produced more than 500 records in the House, R&B, Hip-Hop and Neo Soul genres, not to mention film scores and soundtracks although his true love has always been House music. A pioneer of the NYC, New Jersey, 90’s house sound, he’s produced many classics with releases such as as “Back In the Dark”, “Garage Shelter”, “I Can’t Make Up My Mind”, “I Wanna Go To A Club” that all contain Jovonn’s distinctive vocal delivery and trade mark production, as the man says himself ‘gritty sounds, hard kicks, jazzy chords and a phat bassline’. Other releases in Jovonn’s impressive discography include ‘Something About this Love’ (on WestEnd Records), “The Spirit” album (on Track Mode), and the “Blaque House” album on Code Red not to mention releases on labels such as Dogmatik, Objektivity, Deeply Rooted House and Apollonia showcasing his talents to a new audience of house music lovers. Jovonn launched his new label venture Body N’Deep in 2017 via clone distribution, dedicated to releasing the hottest deep and raw underground house tracks from Jovonn and his crew of producers and vocalists including tracks from legendary artists such as Karizma, Delano Smith and Louie Vega. His album ‘Timeless’ was released on the label receiving great reviews from DJ’s and Press, showcasing Jovonn’s trademark new jersey sound. In-between running the label and DJing worldwide Jovonn has still found time to release on prestigious labels such as Nu Groove/Defected with ‘Random/Get Over It’, ‘The Blaque Katt EP’ and more recent ‘The Fun Houze EP’. All welcomed by a new generation of DJs and producers, demonstrating Jovonn’s ability to keep relevant with his classic NYC house sound and just updating it a little for today. The Body N’Deep label goes from strength to strength releasing productions from established artists and rising talents, with releases and A&R from the man himself, ensuring everything has that timeless Body N’Deep sound.
