Melanie Havens, a São Paulo native now based in Berlin, is a standout DJ known for her eclectic and dynamic sets that move fluidly across sonic landscapes. Active behind the decks since the age of 17, Melanie began her journey at São Paulo’s renowned club D-Edge before relocating to Berlin at 19, where she continued to develop her distinctive approach to electronic music. From wave and Italo disco to EBM, electroclash, new beat, electro, dark disco, techno, synthpop, post-punk, and beyond, her selections are driven by vibrant synths, powerful basslines. Beyond the booth, Melanie is a writer and curator for The Brvtalist , as well as a resident at its events. She has brought her sound to dance floors around the world, with appearances in New York, Paris, Bogotá, Shanghai, and beyond. She is also the founder of Klaash , a party dedicated to electroclash and adjacent sounds. Over the years, Melanie has brought her sound to renowned clubs and festivals worldwide, including Berghain, Tresor, Montreux Jazz Festival, Fusion Festival, and Grauzone Festival, alongside appearances across New York, Paris, Bogotá, Shanghai, Zagreb, London, São Paulo, Mexico City and beyond. Electric is the only way to describe Andi’s sets. The NYC-based DJ, producer, and SYNTHICIDE label/party boss constructs a dynamic and intoxicating flow that’s always palpable between the walls of the foggy, neon-lit dancefloor. Parts sleaze and sultry, Andi’s aesthetic is body music based, thriving on the delivery of the groove and the bombastic highs of a track’s apex. As a devotee of distinct sounds such as EBM, new beat, Italo, freestyle and housey 90s elements, her sets reflect her deep vinyl collection: diverse, yet focused, and completely one-of-a-kind. Her own productions aim to challenge the expectations within the confines of traditionally masculine dance genres. With bassline-heavy grooves and a conceptual emphasis on storytelling with samples taken from long-forgotten erotic thrillers and seedy sci-fi films, Andi adds a wry yet delicate touch to machine music. As the boss of SYNTHICIDE—the internationally known party, label and event series—Andi has cultivated the dark underground scene for over a decade in Brooklyn. SYNTHICIDE started at the notorious club in Bushwick, Bossa Nova Civic Club, where the party still holds a monthly residency.
