NIKITA Brooklyn, NY listed bookings | LIVING | The Endup | Cityfox Brooklyn | BEAUTIFUL | non-fat ARTIST BIO written by Jack O'Shaughnessy On the same day Dolly Parton, Janis Joplin, Edgar Allan Poe, his mother and grandmother were born, so too did San Francisco DJ, NIKITA, begin his enchanted existence. As a young boy in Denver, Colorado, NIKITA's childhood was similar to that of other extraordinary creative youth; days filled with church and show choir, playing the piano, and dancing to his mother's R&B albums. From an early age, NIKITA always knew he wanted to be an entertainer. Then, in 1993, a chance encounter with house music at an underground warehouse party would prove to be a pivotal moment in his life, ultimately guiding NIKITA towards the charmed life he lives today. It wasn't until the turn of the millennium though that NIKITA would leave his home in Colorado to search the clubs and warehouses of San Francisco for his destiny. At the very least, he would get a degree in Music Business from San Francisco State University. But with a resounding perseverance and an inimitable personality, NIKITA quickly earned his place among the upper echelon of DJs in San Francisco's world-renowned club scene. In 2005, NIKITA was chosen to host his own radio show, The Massive Mix, on Northern California's only electronic dance music radio station, Energy 92.7 FM. Indeed, it was NIKITA's penchant for blending raw grooves with sophisticated sounds that garnered him a residency at San Francisco's legendary nightclub, The EndUp. Today NIKITA credits SF as the city that made him the adult and artist that he is today... NIKITA is a DJ's DJ, a rare soul who truly understands his role in the DJ booth. Performing anywhere from two to eighteen hour sets, NIKITA weaves music into fantastic journeys of rhythm and sound. NIKITA's ability to contrast the harder elements of techno with the soulful sensuality of deep house has garnered him accolades from some of the world's best DJs and allowed him the rare opportunity to tag team alongside the likes of Cassy, Danny Howells, Lee Burridge, and Derek Plaslaiko. Indeed, NIKITA has played with a Who's Who of international talent, including Craig Richards, M.A.N.D.Y., Joel Mull, Adam Beyer, Steve Bug, Damian Lazurus, Honey Dijon, and many, many more. With additional inspiration coming from friends such as David Harness and Danny Tenaglia, it comes as no wonder why NIKITA's story is one of a dream come true. Today, NIKITA and music partner, RAY ZUNIGA (Co-founder and label owner of Touch of Class Records), produce an international music experience called LIVING.us. Their events started as an underground in Brooklyn, and they’ve taken the brand to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, and Europe for Amsterdam Dance Event for the past two years. In 2018, WeArePulse declared LIVING as one of the Top10 events at ADE. For a recent promo mix please visit www.soundcloud.com/DJNIKITA OR www.listedbookings.com

    the whole biography
Gavin Stephenson grew up influenced by an eclectic range of music spanning from the Beatles and Led Zepplin to the Clash and the synth pop of the '80s. When he discovered dance music in the late '90s, it all came together and took off from there. Gavin has been involved in dance music since he started DJing and produced his first party in 1998. He was the resident and a co-founder of the Spectra and Positive Pressure parties in New York City. By 2003, Gavin was DJing both stateside and internationally, with stops all over the U.S. and Europe, in Canada, Central America, South America, and North Africa. Between 2004 and 2006, he traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe playing as a label DJ for the Swedish dance label, Digital Structures. In 2013, Gavin Stephenson became one of the founders of ebb + flow music, an NYC-based production company known for some of the best underground parties in the scene with consistent high quality music and an undeniably contagious vibe. As an ebb + flow resident, Gavin graces the crowd with funky bass lines, deep grooves, and forward-thinking music in every one of his sets. His ability to read the crowd and give it the necessary energy to thrive is a trademark of the musical journeys that he creates. During the summer of 2014, Gavin took his love of dance music to another level with collaboration on music production with Justin Marchacos and ebb + flow co-founder, Iman Rizky. Their work together spawned Second Format, a trio which has been producing tracks with driving bass lines and catchy, danceable hooks. Track releases are slated to come out early this year on Cityfox and beyond.

  • Iman Rizky

New York City · 25 bookings since Sep 2023 · Sunrise progressive house

“Iman Rizky was bred on house beats from the early '80s and '90s.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Iman Rizky was bred on house beats from the early '80s and '90s. His relationship with dance music back then was a transcendental experience every weekend at places like New York City's Red Zone, the Tunnel, Limelight’s Disco 2000, the Sound Factory, and the legendary Twilo. Iman became a promoter for the Tunnel, Limelight, and the Palladium during the club scene era of the late '80s. His immersion in the heyday of club culture in NYC prompted the pursuit of his true life-long passion of DJing. With his extensive knowledge of dance music from both participation and promotion, he was able to cultivate a unique DJ sound to call his own. As the club scene era wound down and the dance music scene went underground in the early 2000s, Iman formed the party production group, Ku-Deta, which put together events stateside as well as internationally. Around the same time, he started his weekly DJ residency at SEA in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where he continues to play on Fridays and Sundays. Ku-Deta provided a precursory template for ebb + flow music, an NYC-based production company that Iman Rizky founded with Gavin Stephenson in 2013. The underground parties of ebb + flow music have brought consistent high quality music and an undeniably contagious vibe to the dance music scene. As an ebb + flow resident, Iman's DJ sets are laden with minimal groovy beats layered with melodic sounds that build in a cycle of high peaks and low valleys. He takes the crowd on a thrilling roller coaster ride of music that elevates the mind, moves the body, and satisfies the soul. In the summer of 2014, Iman took ebb + flow to another level with collaboration on music production with Justin Marchacos and Gavin Stephenson. The trio became Second Format and has been producing tracks with driving bass lines and catchy, danceable hooks. Justin and Second Format's Giants EP was released on the Cityfox label earlier this year and charted in the Top 10 on Beatport within its first week.

“Navid, known as Navbox, is an NYC-based DJ, producer, and passionate music curator from Iran.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Navid, known as Navbox, is an NYC-based DJ, producer, and passionate music curator from Iran. Born in Tehran, he moved to the U.S. with his family to escape the regime that imprisoned his father for most of his childhood. His deep roots in music began when he started playing piano at the age of four, which shaped his musical path forward. Navbox started DJing in the early 2000s, mastering his craft in Boston's underground scene while studying at university. Later he presented shows under Stranger Than Paradise (STP) in Washington, DC, which became a key platform for the city’s electronic music culture. He played a major role in shaping the scene in DC in a nascent period, curating countless shows over a decade and playing alongside the likes of Zip, Sonja Moonear, Delano Smith, Thomas Melchior, Cassy, DJ Qu, DJ Three, Danny Tenaglia, N/UM and many more. He has performed internationally at iconic venues like Hoppetosse and Club der Visionaere in Berlin, Output in New York, Fábrica De Arte in Havana, and the desert of Egypt. Blending minimal and rhythmic sounds with a deep respect for the roots and future of electronic music, he has little care for genres: focusing on good music alone. Fusing downtempo to minimal and house, and moving to the harder sounds of techno, there is a time and place for every sound. In addition to DJ’ing, he spends his time organizing shows under Respekt Music. These are opportunities to share his love for music and sound systems in various contexts and environments, further expanding his journey in sound across a wide spectrum of musical experiences. He joins the ReSolute NY team of resident DJ’s in the Spring of 2025.
