"It's D's World, we're just living in it" - Guy reading my iPhone notes on the M Train Longtime dancefloor staple Dan Creahan has been a quiet but vital energy in New York's thriving late-night scene, promoting and running door as energetically as he throws down on the floor. As a producer, he's often sought to explore the range around the center of the floor, working behind a number of pen names that have settled in recent years around around Alien D, a coy reworking of his first name, and the most direct outlet for his productions. Having previously released tapes with Mind Dynamics, a driving, frenetic project that pushed noise sensibilities and an improv-first focus on dance music stylings, Creahan worked through a range of concepts and monikers before releasing his first record as Alien D in 2018. Building sonic worlds around shared concepts and studio workflows, he rarely sits in one place for too long, exploring ever-shifting sonic palettes that have branched out from his initial formula of loose break tracks, tinged with elements of house and dub and into a range of sources, from spaced-out B12 tributes to tracks nodding towards the heyday of West Coast rave and downtempo. Bringing the same energy he's honed as a label head and promoter to his studio practice, the horizon looks bright for this Alien, gleaming out into the depths of space, where new worlds await <3House on 9, Techno on 9, Downtempo on 6 and Experimental on 4. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Kulture Galerie (2), Honey Trap (1) and Theory Therapy (1); their RA profile also lists Sweat Equity NYC and Twin System. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Le Bain, Mansions, Good Room · often with Kat Offline, Loidis, adobeprincess, none of them here that night

Best known for his Level parties, Andrew Devlin has been booking some of the city's best house, techno, and hip-hop DJs for almost 10 years. His DJ sets reflect the party's vibe--equally focused on the party people and the record heads, serving up cutting-edge music with no pretense. A typical Devlin DJ set can span NY deep house, psychedelic minimal, UK bass music, and an odd Drake track. Many DJs claim to have range, but few blend Call Super and Barry White at peak time.Recently at 99 Scott Ave, Mansions, Good Room · often with SPF 50, RAQX, Union, none of them here that night
“Eamon Harkin is one half of the partnership behind Mister Saturday Night, Mister Sunday, Planetarium and Nowadays — a constellation of projects rooted in the belief that music can bind strangers, reshape spaces and shift the way a city feels.”

Eamon Harkin is one half of the partnership behind Mister Saturday Night, Mister Sunday, Planetarium and Nowadays — a constellation of projects rooted in the belief that music can bind strangers, reshape spaces and shift the way a city feels. As a DJ, producer, label owner and venue maker, he’s less concerned with genre than with the emotional temperature of a room: how sound can lift, soften, provoke or soothe. His music has been released by Fixed Rhythms, Coastal Haze, Funnuvojere, Sorry Records, Argot, Darker Than Wax, Throne of Blood and his own Mister Saturday Night Records. Born in Derry in the North of Ireland but deeply woven into New York’s musical fabric, Eamon has spent more than two decades shaping moments of togetherness. The Mister Saturday Night and Mister Sunday parties — humble at first, hosted in backyards and improvised spaces — grew into global and historical touchstones for dancers who sought connection as much as catharsis. Those gatherings eventually crystallized into Nowadays, a permanent venue built with intention: a place to listen, move and meet one another without pretense and today one of the most respected clubs in the world. At Nowadays, Eamon plays as a resident among a family of artists including Aurora Halal, Justin Carter, Ayesha, Avalon Emerson, Theo Parrish, Vladimir Ivkovic and OK Williams. With Justin, he has carried the spirit of the party across continents, bringing their warm, thoughtful approach to clubs and festivals from Perth to São Paulo. Beyond the dancefloor, Eamon and Justin also cultivate quiet. Their Planetarium series invites people to lie down among pillows and blankets, surrendering to deep listening — a reminder that music doesn’t always ask for movement; sometimes it asks for stillness. Even in its quietest forms, the work remains rooted in the shared rhythms of New York City: a place that has shaped him, and which he continues to shape in return.House on 22, Deep House on 17, Techno on 13 and Disco on 8. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Mister Saturday Night Records (2), Funnuvojere Records (1) and Sorry Records (1); their RA profile also lists Throne of Blood, The Wurst Music Co, On The Prowl, Argot and 2 more. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileLast at Nowadays in Dec · often with Conducta, Vladimir Ivkovic, Aurora Halal, none of them here that night
“His practices of space making and music are intertwined, aligning to create moments for community and catharsis.”

His practices of space making and music are intertwined, aligning to create moments for community and catharsis. Among his tools are turntables, his voice and records that create either vast, detailed scenes in the mind, the deep urge to move the body, or both. In his early teens, Justin started playing guitar and spending his nights at underground shows at makeshift venues in his small town in the southwest of Virginia. Arriving in NYC in the late 90s, he started performing at and organizing events in the early Brooklyn DIY scene, starting to DJ in 2003. He soon became a resident DJ, booking person and the label manager at Nublu and the Music Director and a resident DJ at APT, two of the last bastions of underground dance music in the wake of 9/11 and the 90s culture wars. Between 2009 and 2011, Justin and fellow DJ Eamon Harkin started Mister Saturday Night and Mister Sunday, parties that happened mostly in friends’ loft spaces and back yards. In 2015, spurred by a need for more permanent space for their own parties as well as a desire to create space for the larger nightlife community, they opened Nowadays. Justin runs and regularly performs at a series called Planetarium, an event where people bring pillows, blankets and sleeping bags, lie in silence and listen deeply to music. He also co-owns Mister Saturday Night Records, a label that's released music and mixes by Suso Saiz, Esteban Adame, CCL, Anthony Naples, Musclecars, Avalon Emerson, Rena Anakwe and Floating Points. As a musician, Justin has released an album of solo material called "The Leaves Fall" (2017) as well as collaborative EPs with The Twilite Tone and Move D. He also performed in the Chorus of Poets conducted by the late downtown experimental jazz musician Butch Morris.House on 9, Disco on 3, Deep House on 4 and Techno on 3. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on !K7 Records (1), Electric Minds (1) and Mister Saturday Night Records (1). labels on their catalogued releasesLast at Nowadays in Dec · often with Rena Anakwe, Chee Shimizu, Carlos Niño, none of them here that night

“Expect to hear everything present in the consciousness of DJ Voices during one of her performances.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Expect to hear everything present in the consciousness of DJ Voices during one of her performances. For the past decade, the Brooklyn-based DJ has been cutting a deeper path through the party, a committed distributor of new sound and undefined genres. “Crazy music” you could call it. (She does.) In a time of homogenized cultural zones and drip-fed algorithmic taste, DJ Voices is an artist specializing in something deep(er). Her sets—free-range, roving, topographic and ecstatic— are free of the usual moderating impulses. They aren’t necessarily built to offer shelter or reassurances. But more of a story: The one about our cracked future-present and its radiating potential. It’s a story that DJ Voices (real name: Kristin Malossi) has been steadily exploring through her work, currently as a resident at The Lot Radio and formerly as a resident at Nowadays, where she also worked as a booker for seven years. Her presence in the Brooklyn electronic community has expanded its contours towards curiosity and exploration and pleasure, but also unafraid of challenge. Take one example: she may be the only DJ with an active book club, “Late Nites Book Club.” The regular reading group hosted by Malossi takes up writing across genre and topic, such as aesthetics, death, rave culture, and sonics. Fitting, given that the Florida-born DJ has become an outspoken voice on contemporary club culture, candidly articulating the variety of sensations and techniques of the dance floor experience. For Voices, club spaces can also serve as cites of discovery and experimentation; “the dance floor is my classroom” you might often hear her say. And it’s best to keep that in mind as you head into a Voices set, as class will most certainly be in session.Electro on 2, Breaks on 2, Power Electronics on 1 and Acid House on 1. styles on their catalogued releasesRecently at The End, Nowadays, Sugar Hill Disco · often with DJ Plead, Sister Zo, L&D, none of them here that night
“Akanbi is heading a new generation of dedicated ravers in New York City.”

Akanbi is heading a new generation of dedicated ravers in New York City. Raised in Lagos, Nigeria, with limited access to the internet but a huge thirst for new music, Akanbi moved to NYC in 2010 and immersed himself head on into every corner of dance music, as a serious dancer and, eventually, a DJ and rave activator. He’s cultivated his unique style of DJing that delivers an intentional blend of freak-out boogie music, sensual rollers, whip-crack bangers, insistent percussion, afrobeat goodness, deep thumping low frequencies & slow-burning experimental descents. In 2014, he started New York City's GROOVY GROOVY party - a judgment-free atmosphere for wild dance floors, spiritual, mental & physical rejuvenation, radical politics, and a dose of undeniably rocking talent. Akanbi has made an impression with visionary sets across the globe at select spaces like Guggenheim Museum, Sustain Release, Nowadays, Dekmantel, Horst, OIL Club Shanghai, WWW Tokyo, Berghain/Panorama Bar, Corsica Studios, Primavera Sound Barcelona et al.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Eavesdrop, H0L0 · often with /KATA/, The Large, Ayanna Heaven, none of them here that night

Defined by a technically-deft skill set (Resident Advisor recently proclaimed: “Now this is how you mix techno”) Rachel Noon is a fearless and uncompromising presence both behind the decks and on the dancefloor. Despite her rising European acclaim and recent appointment as resident DJ of Pornceptual, Noon attributes her significant career strides to her hometown of NYC and to Brooklyn's inspiring underground queer scene. Active as both artist and raver there, she successfully fostered a vibrant community of friends and like-minded peers. This community gave rise to her roaming event series LARGE MARGE which has since expanded internationally, with exciting plans ahead. Now from her home-turf Berlin, Noon has co-founded the intimate queer party series mp3, which has rapidly gained popularity in just two short years. If you ask Noon, her most exciting artistic initiative is currently going down inside the studio; she and her friend Steffen Dix have teamed up to form Self Care Starter Pack (or simply, SCSP), a production and live performance duo. Together they have cultivated a process-driven practice whose work takes a nose-dive towards hardware-only experimentation and the integration of optics into performance. Their first single was already released on the mighty Mala Junta x Amniote Editions compilation, and the duo debuted their live set in the fall of 2023 in Berlin. Rachel Noon, a true dancefloor devotee, has been hailed "equal parts DJ and rave spirit."Their RA profile lists Fast Forward Productions.often with Carly Zeng, Mike Servito, CRYME, none of them here that night
