Guided by her devotion to sound system culture and bass forward arrangements, Mui Mui weaves tracks across the dub continuum with dynamic selections that forefront percussion, groove, and bass. Drawing from her extensive experience playing both pummeling late-night club sets and more cerebral radio hours, Mui Mui’s precise mixing and fearless approach to genre serves to make dance floors feel at once mischievous and cohesive, sacred and sultry. Her training as a classical ballet dancer fuels her love of full body sounds- embracing, welcoming, and guiding the body and mind through her inner narratives. A cornerstone of the NYC underground, she has also held residencies at Noods Radio and Hong Kong Community Radio, and has played to dance floors internationally, including in Tokyo, Montreal, Berlin, and in cities across the US and UK. “Their earliest love for dance music stems back to their childhood mastering Stepmania songs by NAOKI and SMiLE.dk on "Heavy" mode, drawing cues from their brother’s love for Gigi D'Agostino, parachute pants, and bleached bangs, and singing along to techno anime OSTs by Ayumi Hamasaki and Two-Mix.”

Their earliest love for dance music stems back to their childhood mastering Stepmania songs by NAOKI and SMiLE.dk on "Heavy" mode, drawing cues from their brother’s love for Gigi D'Agostino, parachute pants, and bleached bangs, and singing along to techno anime OSTs by Ayumi Hamasaki and Two-Mix. From liquid jungle, deranged donk, and happy hardcore to jersey club, demonic techno, and intergalactic house, PHANTAZN weaves sounds that lock dancefloors into worlds of phantasy––rendering liberating experiences built in Unity, and driven by Unreal Engines that pump bloodrushing kicks, ringing hi-hats, and lush chords into unexplored realms of the collective simulation.

“Soo Intoit began DJ'ing in 2020, when booked for a Zoom party.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Soo Intoit began DJ'ing in 2020, when booked for a Zoom party. Believing it was a drag booking, she was informed a week before that the party actually wanted her to play music for an hour. After spending lots of time going out and working as a host, and frequently mentioning the desire to be a DJ, she decided this was the time to commit. She had her beginnings (other than the aforementioned Zoom party) in intimate basement gatherings, and later on rooftops. With her job being closed at the time, she was at an advantage, and practiced very frequently. By late 2021, she was presented with her first opportunity to produce a party--which is now CRITICAL HIT. What started as a bi-weekly Wednesday party with humble attendance, evolved into an event that maintains a strong following and crowd, and now takes place once a month on the weekends. This party features a PS2 at almost every event, and sometimes operates games at other parties, showing her interests in building communities around mutual hobbies, as well as providing a unique experience in what she does. The gaming influence is reflected in her DJ sets, too. She produces Juicy Fruit, a recurring bar night with a focus on danceable music the crowd can sometimes sing along too, and Omega. Omega is her sci-fi themed dance party, which she co-produces.
