“Watching Cassy eagerly dive into her record collection is a joy.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Watching Cassy eagerly dive into her record collection is a joy. Away from the transcendent spaces she continues to play at most weekends, her vinyl-digging series Talking About My Records on Instagram gives ample opportunity to engage with her endearing excitability. Its concept being spurred by moving back home to Austria and reconnecting with a stacked vinyl stash, you can feel the buzz gained from rediscovering lost gems and rinsed B-sides. Keen to share this experience with whoever’s watching, what makes this series stand out is the sense that Cassy’s enthusiasm and faithfulness to the music that fuels club culture has been revived. We’re seeing the beginning of a new era for Cassy. Given that her trailblazing career surpasses two decades, a serious reset to recalibrate should be expected. She’s lived in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, London, New York and LA; worked at iconic record store Hard Wax; held residencies at hallowed clubs Panorama Bar, Trouw, Output, DC-10 for Circo Loco, Rex Club, Amnesia for Cocoon, and Pacha with her own night in the Pachacha room; taken in massive festivals and heaving basements the world over; contributed to the seminal mix series from Panorama Bar, fabric and Cocoon; dropped records on Perlon, Aus, K7!, Ostgut Ton, Cocoon Recordings and Bass Culture; and launched her record label Kwench Records featuring EPs from Fred P, Demuir, Ian Pooley, Kristen Velvet, Chris Carrier, Art Alfie, Amir Alexander and Steve Bug. In 2020, Cassy tapped out, moving to Austria with her mother and son. Getting distance from the challenges of the scene and learning to rest was needed. It’d be a drum & bass set with Ray Keith via a live stream by London club FOLD that did some of the work to lure her back. Cassy’s return would be further cemented by record digging sessions with her unearthed collection, pulling out tracks from Ron Hardy, Regis, Mike Dunn, Tin Man, Étienne de Crécy and Terrence Dixon, among many more. Making her debut in South Korea, fulfilling an urge to spend more time in Buenos Aires, throwing herself back into Berlin’s bubble, playing at Heideglühen,ELSE, Renate and Panorama bar, Cassy is future-focussed with an outlook that she’s here to enjoy DJing anew. “There’s fresh audiences out there to connect with, and that excites me,” Cassy explains. “I feel like I better understand my job description. I better appreciate what the moment needs and I’m less concerned with what records I have to play to keep my reputation intact. We can be too critical of ourselves. As Larry Levan advised, drop the ego. Let’s keep it real.” Flip through the two EPs that she released in 2023 on her label Kwench Records, and you’ll get a good feeling of where she’s at with her confidence as a producer and label head. On E.T. Ascension, Cassy utilises Roland’s 808 and her computer in a bid to honour her roots. Eager to strip it back to the basics, sending waves into the past when she was living in Berlin using that exact minimalist setup, she’d feel connected with herself again. “It’d been a long time since I’d used an 808. It was nice to revisit these feelings using the machine, lean into my weirdness in producing music and also use my vocals. I’m super proud of this record. It gives me that kick to get more and more creative with every release.” Ultimately, Cassy has liberated herself from the pressures of blasting through a checklist according to whatever the dominant standard may be. Representing herself in a true and sincere way is all that she demands.Their RA profile lists Cocoon Recordings, Turbo Recordings, Perlon, Diamonds & Pearls and 6 more.often with Vera, Chris Stussy, Farida Bady, none of them here that night
“Born in 1981 in a tiny town of the Pre-Ural region, Votkinsk.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Born in 1981 in a tiny town of the Pre-Ural region, Votkinsk. Andrey made his way to the worldwide underground scene by collecting and successfully playing vinyl records for over 25 years. A vinyl collector, his special and deep taste for sound is recognizable and respected in more than 60 countries. From Australia to the US, South America, Asia, and Africa. The career of a professional DJ started at the age of 15. Despite limited resources of getting any alternative information on underground culture and music before and after the Soviet Union collapsed, his passion for electronic sound still developed rapidly and evolved into dedicating his whole life to it. Constant searches and desire to share precious finds involved in a life’s time work so now he is spinning vinyl in clubs, all-scale festivals, and broadcasting at Boiler Room, Mixmag Lab, and live streams. In 2006, he became a resident DJ of the unique web radio DeepMix.ru which was broadcasting non-commercial techno music for free and without any advertising to listeners from 53 countries till the end of the summer of 2011. In 2013, he appeared as the main protagonist of the documentary film Kvadrat which explores the realities of DJing, shot by Anatoliy Ivanov in 5 countries. This movie had a huge impact on the underground community because it showed the other, more vulnerable side of the profession and revealed a romanticized illusion of the life of an electronic artist. As a producer, He mainly focuses now on ambient and dub sound, as an opportunity to state an inward-outward message, not influenced by short-lived hype. The releases and remixes can be found at labels like Circus Company, Endless, Lessizmore, and Thule Records. Also, he is producing and curating music for his label, Luck of Access which was opened in 2017 and provides a space for artists to reveal the unknown sides of their musical style.Their RA profile lists Circus Company, LesIzmo:r, Endless, Thule and 5 more.Last at H0L0 in Dec 2023 · often with Stavi, Voiski, Max Dowd, none of them here that night

Labelled by Resident Advisor as “one of the classiest and grooviest house DJs out there,'' Dana Ruh is a musician who lives and breathes music like few others. Thoroughly obsessed by the complexities of sound, she’s as renowned for his wizardry behind the decks as she is her label, Brouqade — as well as her role at fledgling Berlin music space, KMA60. A native of Gera, Ruh has been firmly settled in Berlin for over a decade now, with Germany’s capital continuing to play a profound effect on her unique way of working. An impressively multifaceted musician, Ruh’s early sound was often characterised by its subtle, minimal tropes, although these days she’s equally as likely to champion classy, up-tempo house as she is a tougher, more peak-time techno vibe. It’s a way of working that means she’s equally comfortable throwing it down in Romania as she Ibiza or at her summer residency at Berlin’s Club der Visionare. A master of the subtle groove, Ruh’s work continues to draw praise from electronic music’s most respected names, with her highly-regarded debut LP, Naturally, released via Jus Ed’s Underground Quality. Added to this, further celebrated releases have arrived recently via equally discerning outposts such as Slices of Life, Cave Records and Autoreply. Closer to home, Ruh continues to rep her Brouqade imprint with distinction. Conceived in 2007, the label is now firmly established one that’s equally likely to push forward-thinking up-and-coming artists and established names alike. Never one to sit still, Ruh’s most recent endeavour is KMA60, a collaborative affair alongside Jamie Fry. Located in Berlin’s Neukölln, KMA60 encompasses a record shop, a studio space, as well an in-house label, KMA60 Rezpektiva. Established in early 2019 but already gaining a reputation for its killer record selection and welcoming atmosphere, much like Dana Ruh herself, KMA60 is quickly becoming synonymous with quality.Their RA profile lists Cocoon Recordings, Ostgut Ton, Underground Quality, Brouqade and 6 more.often with Alessia Ceruti, Elia Nafzger, Rick Baguette, none of them here that night

the whole biography
Born from a Dutch classical singer/pianist player and a Congolese percussionist drummer, it comes as no surprise that the art of playing music literally runs through her veins. Her mostly vinyl sets are 90's UK/US/DE inspired, supported by strong percussion, rhythms and a spiritual touch. Always aiming to engage in a conversation with her crowd, dancing to her sets will release that inner gangster gut feeling in you. Body focused, voluptuous house and techno at its best. Doudou MD strongly believes music has the power to heal and serve as a medicine, which is one of the main reasons music has always been at the core of her life. Following her ears and heart when digging for new records, her bag is constantly being re-filled with a rich variety of music. Although the rhythms and genre of her selection may vary, the constant factor is her unmistakable love for every track she lays on the record player. After spending her early (club)years in Utrecht and Amsterdam, surrounded by her forever cherished Slapfunk and VBX brothers, she spent 5 years in Berlin. Here clubs like Berghain, Hoppetosse and Ohm played a big influence on her musical and personal developments. She takes much of her inspiration from artist like Zip, Roman Flügel, Paul Johnson, as well as Steve O’Sullivan and Mr. G. Back in Amsterdam today, never taking the experience of the dance floor lightly, she fine-tuned her view of the ultimate club experience all over the world. Perfecting this craft is a never ending process, making her upcoming gigs all the more interesting for both crowd and artist.Recently at H0L0, Nublu · often with karete bu, Power Squad, Franca, none of them here that night
