Veronica Vasicka is a NYC native: a photographer, musician, DJ and founder of the epic record label and on-line music resource Minimal Wave. As one of the founding members of East Village Radio, she managed the station during its pirate days and began collecting obscure and long forgotten gems that fell somewhere between the Cold Wave, Post-Punk, Industrial and Synth-pop genres. Not knowing what to classify these bands as, she coined the genre Minimal Wave and set up the website www.minimalwave.com as an online resource to share her finds with the rest of the world. The response to the website was huge and shortly after its launch, Veronica began tracking these artists down and re-issuing their work on the Minimal Wave label. Most of these bands recorded extremely limited copies of their work in their basements and shared their work with the world via John Peel's radio show and a handful of underground music mailings. The music released on the label ranges stripped down, D.I.Y. synth-pop to pioneering industrial electronics. In addition to running Minimal Wave, Veronica launched the Cititrax in 2008 (www.minimalwave.com/releases/cititrax) label as way to expose newer synth-based acts. She DJs monthly in her hometown, New York City, and around the world, as well as having hosted a weekly radio show from 6-8pm ET on East Village Radio for 10 years. She now hosts a monthly show on Red Bull Radio called This Side of Nowhere. She has curated and released over 100 albums now, amongst them were two highly lauded compilations: The Minimal Wave Tapes: Volumes 1 and 2 which were picked up, released and distributed by Stones Throw Records. Veronica's DJ sets range from raw, danceable industrial electronic to cold wave fused with mutant house and underground techno. She likes to tell a story when spinning and to teach the crowd about the roots of electronic music. She has a fantastic talent for synthesizing her influences into an unforgettable night of dancing. Raised between Istanbul and New York City, Omer Bil, better known as O.BEE, has cultivated a musical palette that encompasses the two culture hubs and everything in between. Known for dancing in between different genres and styles, juggling the traditional and the avant-garde, O.BEE weaves together unknown yet familiar sonic landscapes, in a signature style that reflects his own musical identity; optimistic yet rebellious and filled by passion. Liberating the dance floor from the accustomed rules and stepping away from functional expectations, he instead cultivates musical trips for both the dancer and the listener, communicating with the north and south of the body, fueled with intellectual and sensual energy. During his formative years in New York City, O.BEE embarked on a multifaceted journey, characterized by both scholarly pursuits and immersive experiences on the dance floor. His academic path led him to study Contemporary Music at the prestigious New School in Manhattan, where he found himself among the finest jazz talents of his generation. Simultaneously, he delved into the vibrant nightlife scene as a resident DJ and avid participant at the renowned New York party series, ReSolute, where he honed his craft and deepened his connection to the dynamic energy within the city’s underground culture. In 2020 he launched Jigit, a collective and record label alongside Tomas Station and Asli Tunaman, serving as a platform for their creative output, encompassing original productions and selections from their inner circle. This multifaceted venture, comprising a record label, event series, and lifestyle brand, has garnered a devoted global following, thanks to its distinct artistic ethos. Apart from his heavy touring schedule to new destinations, O.BEE holds regular residencies in renowned institutions Fabric, London and Club der Visionaere, Berlin as well as infamous Ibiza club DC-10 where he and Tomas Station are residents of the formidable Circoloco Mondays. Across the pond in Brooklyn's H0l0, O.BEE has established an “All Night Long” series where he can cast his spell to listeners in mind bending open to close sets that have run up to 16 hours. Also present on the larger stages of dance music, recent years have seen him perform in trendsetting festivals such as Houghton, Waking Life, Kappa Futur, Sunwaves and more. A seeker of sonic truth, O.BEE remains committed to the relentless pursuit of artistic evolution, drawing inspiration from the symphony of life itself to create music that resonates deep within the soul to heal and be healed.House on 4, Deep House on 4, Tech House on 3 and Minimal on 2. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Jigit (2) (1), Slacker 85 (1) and Understory (1); their RA profile also lists Sleep is Commercial, Moody Recordings and ALINE Brooklyn. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileLast at H0L0 in Mar · often with Tomas Station, Willy Soul, Rasho, none of them here that night
