Honey Bun is an interdisciplinary afro-futurist artist whose work aims to reclaim the black past, affirm the black present, and demand the black future. Born in New York City, raised in Texas, and now based in Brooklyn, her selections blend the sounds of her east coast roots, southern upbringing, and the ever-evolving and interconnected sonic output of the global black diaspora. As a resident of Brooklyn’s iconic station, The Lot Radio, Honey Bun hosts her monthly show, ‘BUNTOPIA’, captivating listeners with an explorative monthly mix designed to "sonically journey through the cosmos". The sounds of BUNTOPIA extend into a party night often hosted by intimate NYC clubs, Le Bain and Mood Ring, featuring thoughtfully curated lineups of guest DJs, artists, and friends who share a similar future-forward approach to dance music. When on planet Earth, the sun sets, and the vibrant streets of Brooklyn come alive with the sounds of Soul Connection, a party series co-founded by Honey Bun and Lovie. Together and in community, they connect the mind, body and soul through an essential night of dancing and deep groove filled with glowing soulful house, disco, funk and r&b. Often selected as an RA pick of the week, the beloved party centers intergenerational Black femme DJs and prioritizes cultivating comfortable and love-filled dance floors between renowned Brooklyn clubs, Good Room, Nowadays and Public Records. Honey Bun is a highly sought after addition to any of NYC’s most exciting club nights, as a guest DJ alongside major touring international artists, and trusted by the underground scene to stand alone with the ever-precious all-nighter extended set. Her flexibility and fearlessness to take on any dance floor is reflective of her reputation as an “omnivorous selector” with a record collection and taste that runs wide and deep. While sensual and playful, she can carefully brew peak time moments of heady bass lines, famed drum breaks, and classic Detroit techno, all aiding in her natural inclination to buzz between universes with just a twist of a knob. A reputation that has earned her a newly minted residency at famed nightclub, Nowadays, in Queens, NY. Internationally recognized, Honey Bun has graced the airwaves of prominent stations such as Foundation FM, Rinse FM, Rinse France, and Balamii, along with highly-acclaimed club appearances across western Europe and the UK. Her style has earned her spots on esteemed festival lineups such as Sustain Release, Making Time, headlining the Brooklyn Mirage stage of Boiler Room Festival, and the Red Bull stage for The Governor’s Ball. She is often tapped as the local guest DJ to join international tours of artists like Disclosure, Nia Archives, HAAi, Palms Trax, Gerd Janson, TSHA, Benji B and more. Beyond her DJ work, she was previously the video host for Noisey's Questionnaire of Life and a producer of Emmy-award nominated music documentary series, The Story Of, showcasing her versatility in the music domain.Recently at public records, Nowadays, Knockdown Center · often with Lovie, Ayanna Heaven, Sevyn, none of them here that night

Eamon Harkin is one half of the partnership behind Mister Saturday Night, Mister Sunday, Planetarium and Nowadays — a constellation of projects rooted in the belief that music can bind strangers, reshape spaces and shift the way a city feels. As a DJ, producer, label owner and venue maker, he’s less concerned with genre than with the emotional temperature of a room: how sound can lift, soften, provoke or soothe. His music has been released by Fixed Rhythms, Coastal Haze, Funnuvojere, Sorry Records, Argot, Darker Than Wax, Throne of Blood and his own Mister Saturday Night Records. Born in Derry in the North of Ireland but deeply woven into New York’s musical fabric, Eamon has spent more than two decades shaping moments of togetherness. The Mister Saturday Night and Mister Sunday parties — humble at first, hosted in backyards and improvised spaces — grew into global and historical touchstones for dancers who sought connection as much as catharsis. Those gatherings eventually crystallized into Nowadays, a permanent venue built with intention: a place to listen, move and meet one another without pretense and today one of the most respected clubs in the world. At Nowadays, Eamon plays as a resident among a family of artists including Aurora Halal, Justin Carter, Ayesha, Avalon Emerson, Theo Parrish, Vladimir Ivkovic and OK Williams. With Justin, he has carried the spirit of the party across continents, bringing their warm, thoughtful approach to clubs and festivals from Perth to São Paulo. Beyond the dancefloor, Eamon and Justin also cultivate quiet. Their Planetarium series invites people to lie down among pillows and blankets, surrendering to deep listening — a reminder that music doesn’t always ask for movement; sometimes it asks for stillness. Even in its quietest forms, the work remains rooted in the shared rhythms of New York City: a place that has shaped him, and which he continues to shape in return.House on 22, Deep House on 17, Techno on 13 and Disco on 8. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Mister Saturday Night Records (2), Funnuvojere Records (1) and Sorry Records (1); their RA profile also lists Throne of Blood, The Wurst Music Co, On The Prowl, Argot and 2 more. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileLast at Nowadays in Jan · often with Conducta, Vladimir Ivkovic, Aurora Halal, none of them here that night
“His practices of space making and music are intertwined, aligning to create moments for community and catharsis.”
their own biography
the whole biography
His practices of space making and music are intertwined, aligning to create moments for community and catharsis. Among his tools are turntables, his voice and records that create either vast, detailed scenes in the mind, the deep urge to move the body, or both. In his early teens, Justin started playing guitar and spending his nights at underground shows at makeshift venues in his small town in the southwest of Virginia. Arriving in NYC in the late 90s, he started performing at and organizing events in the early Brooklyn DIY scene, starting to DJ in 2003. He soon became a resident DJ, booking person and the label manager at Nublu and the Music Director and a resident DJ at APT, two of the last bastions of underground dance music in the wake of 9/11 and the 90s culture wars. Between 2009 and 2011, Justin and fellow DJ Eamon Harkin started Mister Saturday Night and Mister Sunday, parties that happened mostly in friends’ loft spaces and back yards. In 2015, spurred by a need for more permanent space for their own parties as well as a desire to create space for the larger nightlife community, they opened Nowadays. Justin runs and regularly performs at a series called Planetarium, an event where people bring pillows, blankets and sleeping bags, lie in silence and listen deeply to music. He also co-owns Mister Saturday Night Records, a label that's released music and mixes by Suso Saiz, Esteban Adame, CCL, Anthony Naples, Musclecars, Avalon Emerson, Rena Anakwe and Floating Points. As a musician, Justin has released an album of solo material called "The Leaves Fall" (2017) as well as collaborative EPs with The Twilite Tone and Move D. He also performed in the Chorus of Poets conducted by the late downtown experimental jazz musician Butch Morris.House on 9, Disco on 3, Deep House on 4 and Techno on 3. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on !K7 Records (1), Electric Minds (1) and Mister Saturday Night Records (1). labels on their catalogued releasesLast at Nowadays in Jan · often with Rena Anakwe, Chee Shimizu, Carlos Niño, none of them here that night
“As one of the co-founders of Hessle Audio, Ben UFO has been responsible, alongside Pearson Sound and Pangaea, for some of the most varied and ground breaking releases of recent years.”
their own biography
the whole biography
As one of the co-founders of Hessle Audio, Ben UFO has been responsible, alongside Pearson Sound and Pangaea, for some of the most varied and ground breaking releases of recent years. Having become immersed in the still emerging dubstep scenes in London and Leeds in 2005, his musical taste was shaped primarily by the DMZ and Sub Dub nights taking place in those cities. However, as tastes have shifted and scenes have fragmented, Ben UFO's approach to the music and to Hessle Audio itself has developed. As BPMs have dropped and influences have broadened, so too has the vision of Ben UFO's DJing. He remains one of the few DJs in the UK to have made an impact without a production career to fall back on, and as such his reputation is solely the result of his skill as a selector and as a mixer. As a result he remains in a position to fully explore sounds both old and new, across the worlds of house and garage, dubstep and grime, and further into the past. This level of commitment to the dance music of the last two decades has led to a collection of records which reflects the position London has long held as a city responsible for the constant development of forward thinking music. This is not to say that his focus is primarily on the sounds of the old school, as Ben UFO is looked to as one of the leading figures supporting up and coming producers. He was the first DJ to play material by producers such as Blawan and Joy Orbison, both now scene figureheads, and his weekly slot on London's leading ex-pirate radio station, RinseFM, is considered to be one of the only places to hear the most exclusive new music by both new and established producers. In addition to well received podcasts in magazines and websites as varied as Resident Advisor, XLR8R, Red Bull Music Academy and Fact Magazine, 2011 was the year that Ben UFO entered the world of commercially released mix CDs. His contribution to the respected RinseFM series was widely praised for its coherence despite the breadth of styles showcased, and he was placed #35 in a Resident Advisor readers’ poll to find the years best DJ. It’s a result which reflects Ben UFO’s ability to successfully present unfamiliar, experimental dance music to a diverse variety of audiences worldwide.Their RA profile lists Hessle Audio.Recently at Mansions, H0L0, Camp Kennybrook · often with Helena Hauff, Shvili, Emsho, none of them here that night
“Expect to hear everything present in the consciousness of DJ Voices during one of her performances.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Expect to hear everything present in the consciousness of DJ Voices during one of her performances. For the past decade, the Brooklyn-based DJ has been cutting a deeper path through the party, a committed distributor of new sound and undefined genres. “Crazy music” you could call it. (She does.) In a time of homogenized cultural zones and drip-fed algorithmic taste, DJ Voices is an artist specializing in something deep(er). Her sets—free-range, roving, topographic and ecstatic— are free of the usual moderating impulses. They aren’t necessarily built to offer shelter or reassurances. But more of a story: The one about our cracked future-present and its radiating potential. It’s a story that DJ Voices (real name: Kristin Malossi) has been steadily exploring through her work, currently as a resident at The Lot Radio and formerly as a resident at Nowadays, where she also worked as a booker for seven years. Her presence in the Brooklyn electronic community has expanded its contours towards curiosity and exploration and pleasure, but also unafraid of challenge. Take one example: she may be the only DJ with an active book club, “Late Nites Book Club.” The regular reading group hosted by Malossi takes up writing across genre and topic, such as aesthetics, death, rave culture, and sonics. Fitting, given that the Florida-born DJ has become an outspoken voice on contemporary club culture, candidly articulating the variety of sensations and techniques of the dance floor experience. For Voices, club spaces can also serve as cites of discovery and experimentation; “the dance floor is my classroom” you might often hear her say. And it’s best to keep that in mind as you head into a Voices set, as class will most certainly be in session.Electro on 2, Breaks on 2, Power Electronics on 1 and Acid House on 1. styles on their catalogued releasesRecently at Good Room, Nowadays, The End · often with DJ Plead, Sister Zo, L&D, none of them here that night
