Viiaan, producer, record collector, dj and co-founder of Voragine, label and platform under which she promotes the work of artists who work both in the field of experimental electronics, and within the club sound. Although she is unwilling to pin down a specific style to define her work, she is inclined to dark ambient and techno. Her music is a complex and evocative sonic experiment. In her mix-tapes she seamlessly integrates Classic House, Experimental Techno and Drum & Bass, and Breaks. She also draws influence from ambient, industrial and arabic music. Over the last two years her works appeared on compilations like Lowmute and Desembocadura, where she touches on subjects such as migration problems finding inspiration in film, art and literature. She launched her first EP Discromía in 2017 on Maladolescenza and her second EP Shimonoseki at the beginning of January 2020 via SNU. She is currently working on various collaborations and is about to release music on the Uk META MOTO record label, and Extasis Records.Their RA profile lists Voragine, QEONE and Causal Chain.Recently at Elsewhere, Nowadays, Mood Ring · often with Retter (DE), Brusco, Rafush, none of them here that night
“Nico is a young and fresh female artist.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Nico is a young and fresh female artist. Her parents told her, that her first spoken words were: Prokofiev and Rachmaninoff. Influenced by the work of her father as a music composer and conductor, she gets early in touch with classical music like Richard Wagner, Gustav Holst, Philip Glass and many russian composers. With the age of fourteen she started listening to electronic music; from this time Nico's musical interest moved from deep techno, over minimal music to modern club sounds. The spirit of the Doors and especially the life of Jim Morrison affected her personality in a strong way too. Nico is an ambivalent creature; on the one hand she lives on the dark side of the moon and gambles with deep, dark and mysterious emotions...but on the other hand she adores the purity of soul and nature. So it is needless to say that Nico points out an expression of herself through her productions and now its time to show her diversity...Their RA profile lists Souvenir Music, Slash, LateNightTales and Avioground Records.Last at Mehanata Bar in Mar · often with Lorenzi, Hanzo, Joe BRT, none of them here that night
