Dance floor beware! boyyyish is Viet-Mexican club kid who has been in the NYC scene for over a decade. When he’s behind the decks, expect his magnetic groove to transcend genre and time as he takes you anywhere from house, acid, rave, soulful house, latin and beyond while rooted in timeless feeling and flow. His renowned weekly radio show “breakfast with boyyyish” delves into deep cut 80s and 90s electronic music, exploring the origins of a variety of dance music genres across the world. With more than seven seasons on the air it has become a cult favorite amongst DJs. He’s been featured on The Lot Radio, HÖR, BCCO, Apple Music Razor N Tape and Rinse FM. His signature 90s house sound with a modern touch is no less a love letter to the NYC nightlife created by his two mentors Christina Visca [Sound Factory/Paradise Garage/Studio 54] and Susanne Bartsch [Copacabana/Le Bain] for whom he has been a resident DJ and collaborator since 2020. He has supported the likes of Danny Krivit, Inner City, Kevin Saunderson, Todd Edwards, Jellybean Benitez for Glitterbox, Eli Escobar, Rich Medina, Dimitri from Paris, Tedd Patterson, Maurice Fulton, The Egyptian Lover, Hex Hector, Rimarkable, Ewan McVicar, Posthuman for I Love Acid, Tiga, JD Samson, Jubilee, Lauren Flax, Dana Montana, Mestiza, Eliza Rose, SG Lewis to name a few… You can find him regularly at home base clubs Le Bain and House of Yes and as resident DJ for Susanne Bartsch. But no club in NYC is foreign to him from Good Room, Nowadays, The Stranger, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Elsewhere, X-Pizza, Wiggle Room, Lucid Radio, Knockdown Center, Webster Hall, Sony Hall, Paragon, Gitano Island and Public Hotel. As a nightlife scion, he’s also soundtracked many a NYFW event for labels such as Theory, Helmut Lang, Prabal Gurung, Kiehl’s and editorials such as Paper Magazine and Ladygunn. Outside of NYC, his talent has brought him to Berlin, Milan, Tulum, Pavilion Festival in Scotland, Mexico City, Calgary, Bonnaroo Music Festival, South by Southwest, Aspen Gay Ski Week, DC, Pittsburgh, Provincetown Carnival and Fire Island. This tornado of influence is always surprising crowds in his breakneck yet seamless sets and your head will be spinning like a turntable should you lend an open ear before he’s off to the next stage.Recently at Good Room, House of Yes, Dead Letter No. 9 · often with Amber Valentine, materia hache, W. Lauren Flax has been a lifelong musician, starting to play the drums at 8 years old before continuing on to guitar and bass in high school. She began her DJ career in the underground dance and rave scenes of Detroit as a resident at the Motor Lounge, playing every Tuesday night along with resident DJs Mike Servito, DJ Dilemma, Jason Kendig, and Derek Plaslaiko. Flax played the very first Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2000 on the Motor stage. While originally starting off as a jungle DJ, Flax evolved her style into a variety techno, house, and electro music. Flax moved to Chicago in 1999, where she honed in on music production while continuing to DJ. By 2002, she relocated again to Manhattan, which shortly followed the release of her first remix, "Much Finer" for Le Tigre. In 2018, Flax was introduced to DJ Haus by fellow Detroit musician and friend Jimmy Edgar, to which he quickly signed a record, resulting in "Dance Trax Vol. 16" (2018). In 2019, Flax joined the mostly Detroit-born New York collective The Bunker New York,[1] on which she released "One Man’s House is Another Woman’s Techno EP" (2019). The EP was highly successful and sold out quickly. Flax met with Brooklyn-based record label 2MR in 2019, curious to explore beyond the realm of dance music. She remixed 'Breathe' by label-mate Pale Blue, and that ended up inspiring Flax's new style of music. After the remix was released, Flax took to writing a 6 track EP, merging genres of ambient, acid house, and much more, set to come out in Summer 2021. Flax started touring the United States and Europe as a solo artist in 2019, performing live analog sets, pushing the boundaries of what a DJ is defined as.House on 39, Techno on 22, Acid House on 13 and Electro on 17. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on WRKTRX (3), Aliens On Wax (1) and House Of Efunk Records (1); their RA profile also lists Defected Records, !K7, Toolroom Records, Nervous Records and 6 more. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Gabriela, Paragon, Superior Ingredients · often with Sevyn 0000, Austin Kunis, Costume Design, none of them here that night
