“Darshan Jesrani’s recording project “Metro Area” (together with partner Morgan Geist) has left an indelible mark on the dance music landscape.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Darshan Jesrani’s recording project “Metro Area” (together with partner Morgan Geist) has left an indelible mark on the dance music landscape. Known for its forward-looking, freestyle recombination of influences, Metro Area’s work revolves around experiments with classic production styles and the songwriting focus of disco, new-wave/synth-pop and R&B. Metro Area has injected much needed doses of funk, sensuality, mood and space back into the loop-based and seldom-subtle world of underground dance. Their 2002 debut album elicited superlative responses from The New York Times to The Onion, from web-logs to the Wire. Metro Area won a place among Rolling Stone’s “Top 50 Albums of 2002”, a rock and rap-dominated list for which most club/dance projects are not even considered. Further accolades include BBC/Radio 1’s “Dance Album of the Year” and a “Best New Artist” prize at the 2003 DanceStar/American Dance Awards. In 2007, Darshan caught the collective ear with his co-writing, production and remix work (alongside Ewan Pearson and Klas “Sasse” Lindblad) on “It’s All True”, the debut single from beloved UK singer Tracey Thorn’s (Everything but the Girl) solo album “Out of the Woods” (Virgin). This release made waves in broader arenas and was touted as a fresh and uplifting update of the Funhouse-style, vocal-led, New York City synth-pop sound of the early/mid-80s. Darshan’s extended “Parks Dept. Dub” remix of “Starlight”, an underground hit by celebrated and hungry New York disco upstarts Escort (July 2006) landed on the year-end top-10 lists of many DJs known for their selections and taste. Metro Area 7, the latest in a series of 12” EPs, was relelased November 2007 to superlative praise. Metro Area’s mix CD for Fabric (late 2008) was considered by Pitchfork to be both of one of the best modern disco mixes and one of the best in the series. In 2010 Resident Advisor named Metro Area’s “Miura” number 1 in their top 100 singles of the past decade, and their Metro Area album at number 2 in their top 100 albums of the past decade. Having completed the first phase of his studio, which operates out of a commercial loft in Brooklyn, Darshan is preparing a battery of material for release on his new Startree imprint, produced and distributed exclusively by Word and Sound. Startree’s first release “All-Night People” by Funn City was released at the end of 2013 and was included in Spin’s Top 50 dance singles of the year. The label’s second offering, “Disco Engine” by Cylinder, has just been released to early superlative praise from music writers and fellow producers alike, and is out right now. Darshan’s unique remixes for Permanent Vacation, Rekids, Escort and Mock & Toof, among others, have stood on their own as playable pieces of music, irrespective of the original works. Darshan performs worldwide both as a solo DJ, and as a DJ and live PA together with Morgan Geist as Metro Area.Their RA profile lists Environ Records, Permanent Vacation, Startree and Imogen Recordings.often with Eugene Tambourine, Dennis Kane, Gabo, none of them here that night

Spending the last 12 years mixing and digging for peculiar electronica, his talent and dedication soon brought him the residency in the capital’s last real underground sanctuaries – the beloved Zoo club and K4, where he soon took on the initiative and started doing bookings as well, inviting and playing alongside the likes of Francesco del Garda, Sonja Monear, Raresh, Onur Özer, Binh, Etienne, Nicolas Lutz, Daniel Bell and others... Drawing inspiration from virtually all facets of early electronica, Mayell creates his very own distinctive tapestry of sound, resulting in eclectic and quirky DJ sets, ever fresh but always recognizable; if you’ve heard him once, you will always know he has taken over the DJ booth, without looking in its direction. His exhilarating energy and contagious enthusiasm for music have the power to draw even the laziest of dancers to the floor with their hands in the air and smiles on their faces. It seems that all he really wants to do is make people happy with his presence and his music, and he does it extremely well. His latest ventures include immersing himself deeper into music production and starting a new club night and a label under the name of LuckIsOn. the whole biography
Raised between Istanbul and New York City, Omer Bil, better known as O.BEE, has cultivated a musical palette that encompasses the two culture hubs and everything in between. Known for dancing in between different genres and styles, juggling the traditional and the avant-garde, O.BEE weaves together unknown yet familiar sonic landscapes, in a signature style that reflects his own musical identity; optimistic yet rebellious and filled by passion. Liberating the dance floor from the accustomed rules and stepping away from functional expectations, he instead cultivates musical trips for both the dancer and the listener, communicating with the north and south of the body, fueled with intellectual and sensual energy. During his formative years in New York City, O.BEE embarked on a multifaceted journey, characterized by both scholarly pursuits and immersive experiences on the dance floor. His academic path led him to study Contemporary Music at the prestigious New School in Manhattan, where he found himself among the finest jazz talents of his generation. Simultaneously, he delved into the vibrant nightlife scene as a resident DJ and avid participant at the renowned New York party series, ReSolute, where he honed his craft and deepened his connection to the dynamic energy within the city’s underground culture. In 2020 he launched Jigit, a collective and record label alongside Tomas Station and Asli Tunaman, serving as a platform for their creative output, encompassing original productions and selections from their inner circle. This multifaceted venture, comprising a record label, event series, and lifestyle brand, has garnered a devoted global following, thanks to its distinct artistic ethos. Apart from his heavy touring schedule to new destinations, O.BEE holds regular residencies in renowned institutions Fabric, London and Club der Visionaere, Berlin as well as infamous Ibiza club DC-10 where he and Tomas Station are residents of the formidable Circoloco Mondays. Across the pond in Brooklyn's H0l0, O.BEE has established an “All Night Long” series where he can cast his spell to listeners in mind bending open to close sets that have run up to 16 hours. Also present on the larger stages of dance music, recent years have seen him perform in trendsetting festivals such as Houghton, Waking Life, Kappa Futur, Sunwaves and more. A seeker of sonic truth, O.BEE remains committed to the relentless pursuit of artistic evolution, drawing inspiration from the symphony of life itself to create music that resonates deep within the soul to heal and be healed.House on 4, Deep House on 4, Tech House on 3 and Minimal on 2. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Jigit (2) (1), Slacker 85 (1) and Understory (1); their RA profile also lists Sleep is Commercial, Moody Recordings and ALINE Brooklyn. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Outer Heaven, Musica Club NYC, H0L0 · often with Willy Soul, Rasho, Maksim, none of them here that night

their own biography
the whole biography
Born in France and based in Slovenia, she grew up immersed in Classical and Jazz, studying music from an early age before curiosity pulled her towards something less defined. Electronic music became a playground — a place where the rules could bend, collide and disappear altogether. Sibil’s unique style blends an eclectic concoction of raw and trippy vocal snips, masterfully merged with Funk-driven bass lines and Techno-cuts alike. Often peppering her sets with a more emotive dusting of dreamy synth - work served up with a smile and a stream of infectious energy. Beyond the booth, she is part of the story behind LuckIsOn, the Slovenian collective, label and party series that grew from a shared obsession with adventurous music into a platform connecting local and international artists. Through years of parties, releases, collaborations and international showcases, LuckIsOn has become woven into the fabric of Slovenia’s underground scene. Together with her partner Mayell, Sibil created Purple Noise Studio — a recording, mixing and creative space hidden in the Slovenian landscape. Conceived as an ecosystem rather than simply a studio, Purple Noise brings together recording, production, collaboration and experimentation, opening its doors to electronic musicians, bands, sound artists and creatives from far beyond the dance floor. Classically trained, contemporarily constructed. A true dance-music weaver, discotheque diva.Recently at H0L0, Sunset Park Rooftop · often with Rasho, Willy Soul, Shvili, none of them here that night
“Born of Indian and American heritage, Solana's upbringing was steeped in the rich tapestry of classical and world music, courtesy of her familial influences.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Born of Indian and American heritage, Solana's upbringing was steeped in the rich tapestry of classical and world music, courtesy of her familial influences. She studied piano, flute, and voice, yet felt constrained by their limitations in expressing the kaleidoscope within her soul. During her teenage years, she was exposed to commercial trance anthems and some random techno sets from older friends, but it wasn't until she encountered the transcendent realms of Fabric, the sonic landscapes of Ricardo Villalobos, Perlon, James Holden, and other high-quality artists including the raw energy of Detroit and Chicago that her true musical odyssey began. It was a transformative year-long backpacking odyssey through Southeast Asia that set Solana on her path. Amidst the majestic Austrian Alps, she found herself amidst a vibrant community of UK ravers, immersed in the pulsating heartbeat of dance music culture. For fourteen years, Solana meticulously curated her sonic palette collecting records, drawing inspiration from deep house to dub techno, microhouse to drum 'n bass. Her journey was one of collector to selector, as she danced through legendary venues like Berghain, Club Der Visionaere, Robert Johnson, and other hallowed spaces. Yet, it's in the present moment that Solana finds her true calling. In 2023, she founded AIRPLANE MODE, a label and event series dedicated to fostering immersive experiences that transcend time and space. AIRPLANE MODE isn't just about the music; it's a movement, a philosophy urging all to embrace the present and savor each fleeting moment. Solana's DJ sets are a testament to her eclectic tastes and boundless creativity, weaving together diverse genres and rhythms. She has united dancers around the globe, playing at events hosted by Resolute, Robot Heart, Apollo Studio, Elegantly Wasted (Sofia), Meadows in the Mountains festival (Bulgaria), Black Rhino Radio (Bucharest), Golden Record, and H0L0. Join Solana on her journey as she spreads sunshine and joy through the power of music. Born and raised in the well-known cradle of electronic music culture called Belgium, Walrus has for the past twenty years been challenging our perceptions of club music with a fiery passion that, beyond his personal take on deejaying has resulted in the creation of his label, Basic Moves. A visionary artist with idiosyncratic taste, Walrus is always willing to shift the scales, to radically surprise, and to give us something profoundly new. Living in his own personal musical space, the former Fuse club resident builds up tension in a way that is as serious as it is open-minded. Underpinned by a sincere appreciation and interest in dance music both old and new, Walrus takes the extra steps to place himself in the middle of the action. Penned by Resident Advisor as one of Belgium's most exciting locals, this praise is not based on hype, but dedication, sincerity and the simple fact you're bound to feel his unique presence while moving from the edge to the center of the dancefloor.
