Heavily influenced by innovators such as Throbbing Gristle and Floorplan, their productions encapsulated sounds that were inspired by the UK and Detroit, and were complimented with live spoken word. After moving to Berlin in 2016, they transitioned from performance art to DJing, where their sets on HÖR facilitated their breakthrough as a DJ. Having drawn inspiration from early industrial and techno pioneers, x3butterfly’s sets retain a raw and ominous quality, with a club twist. Prioritizing the eclectic, they often aim to take listeners on a story-telling journey while simultaneously keeping them on the dance floor. Their sets combine jungle, drum and bass, R&B, dubstep, techno, and other world sounds at 140-160 BPM. x3butterfly has played in various clubs in Mexico, Germany, Denmark, Greece, as well as a multitude of cities in the US. They have quickly become a rising NYC star, DJing notorious NYC venues such as Bossa Nova, Mood Ring, and Nowadays. their own biography
the whole biography
Concrete Husband is a NYC-based producer, DJ, composer, and flutist whose work bridges hypnotic techno, contemporary composition, and surrealist sound design. His forward-thinking dance records Piel and Pelvic Resonance, released on White Owl Records, received critical acclaim, with Document Journal describing his music as “redefining avant-garde composition.” Educated at New England Conservatory, he draws on a deep knowledge of musical history to create emotionally charged sonic narratives that blur the line between the sensual and the uncanny. His DJ sets move through hypnotic grooves and psychological tension. A fixture of the Brooklyn techno scene, he has been seen countless times at BASEMENT, Paragon, and Knockdown Center, as well as at WIRE Festival and Merge. He is a resident of the Mexico City collective Pervert. As a composer and flutist, he merges virtuosic performance with experimental approaches to sound. Integrating live flute into his work, he has developed a singular performance language that led Eartheater to invite him to open her 2024 international tour, alongside a headline debut at Silent Green. His compositions have been presented at Amant, MoMA PS1, Museum of Modern Art, MUNCH, and Palazzo Reale. He has also scored Dion Lee’s Shanghai Fashion Week presentation and contributed flute compositions to the A24 film Beau Is Afraid. Most recently, he released the experimental project "Where The Ashes Glow" on NNA Tapes.Techno on 2, Afrobeat on 1, Art Rock on 1 and Ethereal on 1. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on White Owl Records (3) (2) and Gonzo Circus (1); their RA profile also lists NNA Tapes and White Owl Records. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at pàn, H0L0, Trans-Pecos · often with Juana, Ne/Re/A, VILE, none of them here that night
