The breakout moment came during a support set for Sammy Virji at Elsewhere in Brooklyn, when a clip of wev's edit of the Cowboy Bebop theme "TANK!" went viral, racking up tens of millions of streams and extending his universe through the same kind of playful reference that defines his production. That connection has come full circle through games themselves— "watchyaback!" became a standout on the OST of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, the critically acclaimed spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio, and "shigoto werk" was placed in Rocket League in early 2026. Built independently and grown organically from New York and Tokyo outward, his debut album OST— as in original soundtrack, the format that first carried this music to him and now the definitive statement of his own, arrives May 2026. Born in Manhattan to Iranian immigrants, Nick AM’s artistry marries family heritage and contemporary influence. Following the Iranian revolution in the 1980’s, Nick’s grandfather started a new life in New York City, selling Persian rugs and establishing the family business that still lives on today. Nick's love of house and electronic music was born from familial influence as well. His parents would often bring home mix CD’s from their travels, exposing him to Western pop and dance music and eventually spurring his obsession for house music with a mix brought from San Tropez. Nick has chased electronic music ever since— coming of age in New York’s underground club scene and learning to produce through friends. Nick's Utopia EP sources sounds from his ancestral home to create electronic anthems for a new world. “The quest for utopia is the root of conflict, thus a perfect society cannot exist,” says Nick of the project. “The consequences of Iran’s conflict with the west and the fear of war between my current home and my motherland inspired my process.” Utopia follows Nick’s 2019 debut EP FATALE and an official remix of Cautious Clay’s “Cold War” which has accumulated over two million streams to date.Their RA profile lists Headroom Records.often with URLHug, Athena, VOHU, none of them here that night
