Since 2004, Alin Crihan has been quietly crafting his skills in the fields of production and dj-ing. Born and raised in Targu-Mures, a small, quiet town in the heart of Transylvania, the seeds of his passion for music were planted from an early age, taking various shapes and forms. A turning point came in 2009 when he moved to Bucharest, where he continues to grow and evolve into deeper and more experimental territories. Debut releases came in early 2015 on labels such as Naural and Sammy Dee’s Ultrastretch. Over the last 20 years, more than 60 12” vinyl releases carry Alin’s name in one alias or another, either as Crihan or as his alteregos Discret Popescu or Modest Ionescu. Behind the decks you can catch him playing in lineups that include Petre Inspirescu, Raresh or Rhadoo and also Zip, Valentino Kanzyiani, Konstantin, Maayan Nidam and many more, in various venues from his adoptive Bucharest at clubs like Guesthouse or festivals like 3 Smoked Olives, Sunwaves, or places across Europe like Club der Visionaere or Robert Johnson, and many more across the continent as well as in North and Central America, North Africa or the near or far East.Their RA profile lists Ultrastretch, Naural, Uvar, Stomping Grounds and 6 more.often with Anaté, DJ Fresh Garlic, MADAM, none of them here that night

His eclectic style of groovy underground minimal & house records creates a captivating and hypnotic vibe. Taking inspiration from the likes of the Romanian,UK, and NYC underground scenes, he has cultivated his own sound of underground house music. Spaced out, jazzy, minimal grooves is his style of choice, and he’s invested in expanding his knowledge base by continually creating and collecting music. A computer nerd at heart, Rupert's love for synthesizers and especially eurorack have helped shape the sound he pushes today. In November of 2022 Rupert launched his own record label, Selekt Sounds, which focuses on the hypnotic, psychedelic, and jazzy sides of minimal. The label has featured artists such as Hendriks Toth, Ali Demir, Modebaku, Dragomir, Herck, Chuwee, TIJN, Nektar Agu and many more.Minimal on 2, Breakbeat on 1, House on 1 and Microhouse on 1. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Artist Intelligence Agency (1), InTheBagg (1) and Kiku Records (1); their RA profile also lists Andhera Records, DISTRAKT AUDIO, RVDIOVCTIVE and selekt sounds. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileLast at SILO in Jan · often with Adam Braiman, Chris Sanabria, Jeny Michelle, none of them here that night
