ake a look at artists with one-word monikers — Madonna, Prince, Beyonce — and they each have one common thread: possessing a remarkable ability to craft music that the masses are drawn towards. Soni is no different, as the performer’s approach to the worlds of House, R&B & what she calls Hip Rock is one in which her vocals leave listeners enveloped in thought and emotion. Born and bred in Queens, N.Y., the stalwart entertainer honed her skills in church, singing in the choir during her time as a Catholic school girl. But it was her work tickling the piano keys, coupled with her guitar playing, that proved she had an innate talent to sing and perform, improving on her abilities to command a crowd. Add in the fact that she can also work a room spinning records as a DJ and it’s apparent she is multifaceted in her artistry. Soni, who calls home to the melting pot that is New York City, doesn’t confine herself to the five borough’s though. Just like the color of her hair — an ever changing mix of hues — her location changes from month to month, gaining inspiration for songs overseas and gracing crowds with her stage show in a wide array of cities in Europe. Just like the artists that came before her and inspired who she’s become today — David Bowie, Donna Summer, Ray Baretto, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Led Zepellin, Dinah Washington, the B52’s, Joan Jett and the Beatles – Soni understands that a worldly presence is what defines a true master behind the microphone. A self-proclaimed “renaissance woman,” the songstress, who’s also dabbled in modeling, marketing, music promotion, has a knack for nourishing the right relationships, earning herself placement on records and collaborations early on in her career working with artists such as Timberland, Bubba Sparxx, Beatnuts to name a few. In 2004, Soni was featured on DJ Tony Touch’s album, The Piece Maker 2, where she crafted a remake of the classic S.O.S Band record “Just be Good to Me.” With that network in tow, she scored vocal work on both of Touch’s Reggaetony albums. In 2007, Soni met famed house veteran “Little” Louie Vega, creating a strong working relationship that produced her first single on Vega Records, “Here to Stay.” While her Puerto Rican roots are showcased in some of her past catalog of music, it’s the present work she’s creating that speaks to her musicianship across a myriad of genres. “I would love for my music to create emotion, joy, consciousness, compassion and influence people,” Soni states.“ There are many different emotions and a strong personality I project through my music, that’s influenced by my experiences, friends and family, as well as the different genres I’ve been exposed to growing up.”Inspired by her father, who played everything from the congas to saxophone and sang doo-wop, Soni moves in the same direction, never allowing herself to be defined or stamped based on one sound. From R&B, Hip Rock with bass to soulful House music, her vocals pique listeners’ interest. Tracks like “Moody 3000” produced by Todd Terry, “Silly Girl” featuring the esteemed Roots’ drummer Questlove and the Raekwon-assisted “Get It Together” attest to that. Currently the face and host of Cypress Hills own BReal.tv’s live broadcast aired weekly “Toca Tuesday”, she interviews her fellow artists and entertains the viewers with her witty style. Now, the chanteuse is crafting her debut album, replete with hip-hop’s boom-bap, the island flavor of reggae, mesmerizing house, classic influence of Rock and the tenderness of R&B. While some may try to throw labels on what her music represents, Soni serves as a music teacher of sorts, defining what she truly is: a versatile force with a voice that touches the soul.Their RA profile lists Vega Records.Last at Starchild Rooftop in Mar · often with Quentin Harris, Jihad Muhammad, Antonio Ocasio, none of them here that night
“The South East London-based artist has paved the way in the scene for herself and her sound.”

The South East London-based artist has paved the way in the scene for herself and her sound. NIKS has displayed a truly natural and organic growth to her journey, refusing to be genre pigeon-holed and flexing musical knowledge and skill across the board. NIKS has a background in contemporary dance, having danced from the age of four and going on to train professionally for 14 years, but music has always remained front and centre. Having originally found inspiration through a musical stewardship of her guitarist father, as well as in the sounds of electronic music pioneers such as Trevor Rockcliffe, Mr. G, Kerri Chandler and a growing record collection, NIKS looked towards DJing as a natural step in artistic direction. Her heavy pool of vast influences has resulted in a forward-thinking sound that is an amalgamation of UK percussive elements, and the influential 90s/00s groovy, rhythmic sounds that influence her extended journey sets today. Her production prowess steadily cements this, with her first EP ‘Milieu’ inviting listeners to enter the vast sonic world of NIKS. She’s been able to consistently flex and flit between bouncy, bass-heavy production and a distinctive downtempo flair. 2025 promises more releases and a remarkable bound forward in production finesse from NIKS, starting with her self-released standalone charity track ‘Amble Minds’. The single raised funds for Focus Congo, with the dubby roller being reviewed by Resident Advisor as a ‘wonky, disorientating club weapon’. As she’s honed in on her craft, NIKS has played across globally esteemed festivals and venues such as Glastonbury, Panorama Bar, Basement, Blitz, Club RAUM, FOLD, Horst and more. Performances, as well as curations, at De School, Love International, UNFOLD - leading to rubbing shoulders with the likes of Josey Rebelle, Amaliah, Shanti Celeste, Call Super, Tasha, Josh Caffé, rRoxymore and many others - amongst her busiest touring yet. Alongside a thriving and full career and self-taught journey, in 2020, NIKS co-founded the integral collective Black Artist Database. Originally coined as Black Bandcamp, the organisation was created in direct response to a lack of representation in the dance music space. Since its inception, NIKS has been part of a team behind mobilising for inclusion and equality in the scene, co-curating multiple workshops, as well as club and festival takeovers, talks, and masterclasses. The artist also has a regular Rinse FM show, taking listeners on a monthly deep dive through underground house and techno, as well as displaying her wide spectrum of sound through one-off shows such as her downtempo special, a dubby b2b journey with livwutang, and a techno masterclass for Tasha’s Neighbourhood. She also regularly appears on long-time friend Moxie’s NTS show, and has also held down a BBC R1 residency, delving into her music journey so far and the influences behind each stage, with episodes on ‘The Genesis’, Black Artist Database and on forthcoming/new music. Alongside her seminal RA Podcast, she has curated mixes for the likes of Origins, The Ransom Note, Daisychain, CRACK, as well as recently releasing a Dekmantel Podcast - delivering a ‘warm, supple soundscape’ ahead of her debut performance at the renowned festival this year. NIKS has remained truly devoted to the underground scene across her career, showcasing a steady and admirable rise within the space, carving out room for a sound and presence that has become synonymous with futuristic dance music.Their RA profile lists Neighbourhood, Céad, Borne Fruits, Obligated Records and 1 more.Last at public records in Feb · often with Amaliah, Berghain, Grace Dahl, none of them here that night

DJ, music producer, and songwriter Mia Moretti has captivated audiences from nightlife to fashion, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. Starting her career playing vinyl records on Los Angeles' legendary Sunset Strip, Moretti developed a keen sonic curiosity. After moving to New York's Lower East Side she found herself at the forefront of a DJ revolution, in which her career trajectory quickly propelled. Called upon by the fashion industry, she composed runway shows and soundscapes for up-and-coming New York designers drawn to her bold choices and compelling storytelling. Her impeccable tastes and exceptional curation led her to perform at exclusive events within the halls of the Louvre and secure residencies along the illustrious Las Vegas strip. However, her musical explorations extend far beyond the confines of popular destinations, as she constantly seeks out uncharted territories. At the core of Moretti's artistic journey lies her personal vinyl collection, lovingly amassed - and growing - over the span of two decades, which serves as the driving force behind her production evident in her recent singles and highly anticipated dance EP, TAMBOR.Last at Duggal Greenhouse in Dec 2023 · often with A.tari, Kapote, Dareel Marley, none of them here that night
