the whole biography
A triple threat who lights up a room when behind the decks, in the studio and on stage, TORIBIO is a lifelong student of rhythm. Analyzing melodies and chords with a musician's ear, the Dominican-American artist blends different genres and moods in all his creative pursuits–DJing, producing, singing, playing instruments, and even his skills on the mic. Thanks to a childhood spent playing in church and jazz drumming, the Florida-born, New York-based act has a natural sense of harmony. He takes on the role of musical cartographer in his Afro-Latin band, Conclave, whose debut album was named one of Resident Advisor's best in 2021 and praised by both Rolling Stone and the New Yorker. Acting as the ensemble's bandlander, vocalist, and key instrumentalist, TORIBIO connects jazz, soul, and house from various cultures with style and grace. His speciality in sonic connections are especially tangible in his DJing. Gliding from pan-Latin club to raw electro to jazz to old-school funk, his sets are a masterclass in building energy and tension. Whether playing Boiler Room or clubs in Mexico City and Tokyo, he knows how to work a crowd with selections and transitions that are as precise as they are powerful. As a producer, his edits and originals are DJ weapons, rinsed by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Rich Medina, and Theo Parrish. His original tracks have been remixed by the likes of Louie Vega, Joe Claussell, and DJ Spinna. Known for fostering community through movement, his Brooklyn block parties (Public Service NYC) embody the spirit of New York’s dance culture while his newly formed imprint B.D.A. is quickly becoming known for bringing these vibes to vinyl. A TORIBIO show is a full-body experience— as he always says, “bring dat ass, and your feet will follow.”House on 16, Deep House on 6, Disco on 6 and Downtempo on 6. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on BDA (4) (2) and Bastard Jazz Recordings (1); their RA profile also lists BBE, Fool's Gold, Darker Than Wax, Razor-N-Tape and 4 more. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Darling Rooftop, Gabriela, House of Yes · often with Mickey Perez, Love Injection, MUSCLECARS, none of them here that night

“Pedrose’s sets are defined by tension and movement.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Pedrose’s sets are defined by tension and movement. Blending the swing of classic NY-meets-Chicago house with the raw pulse of Miami bass and Brazilian club, he resists genre constraints but always keeps the floor in motion. Shaped by a Rio de Janeiro childhood spent absorbing bootleg Miami bass in the backseat of his uncle’s car, Pedrose’s musical education has always lived between cultures and formats. He came up DJing in Houston’s house circuit—mentored by DJ Sun and Malcolm Bravo—playing near-nightly through the pandemic. In college, he wrote his thesis on the legacy of the 808 Volt Mix in Brazilian dance music. Pedrose’s crate-digging is informed by this experience, tracing samples back to bootlegs and street-level circulation. 2025 has marked a breakout moment. He’s shared stages with Dennis Ferrer, Chloe Caillet, MU540, Nick León, Prospa, Carlita, and Patrick Mason, with standout B2Bs at Fabric (with Tommy Gold) and The EDGE NYC (with Dennis Free). He’s also brought his sound to fashion’s leading edges—DJing for Nike, New Balance, Loewe, Coperni, and Middle East Archive—and was featured in Stone Island Sound’s mix series on Apple Music. That same year, he was included in the DAZED 100 list. In NYC, he’s become a trusted selector in the underground scene. He co-founded Estúdio Junto, a collective uplifting Brazilian artists across music, design and film. Its AO VIVO party series has become a key space for diasporic club culture, hosting artists like VHOOR, Th4ys, and SIXX4SIXX and bridging baile, bass, and global underground sounds. Outside the booth, Pedrose is also a creative director and visual artist whose work spans Apple, Vogue, and Dior. Most recently, he led the creative direction for Apple’s Club Radio, a new 24/7 DJ platform, and continues to bridge design and music through his multidisciplinary studio practice. Now in full production mode, Pedrose is working on his debut releases—original tracks shaped by years of digging, deep listening, and diasporic dancefloor research.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Elsewhere, Café Balearica · often with Dennis Free, MESA, CAMILLA, none of them here that night
