Mayon (fka BoneReader) is a club, techno, house music discjockey who builds sonic connections between several diasporic dance genres. Midwestern-born and New York-based, Mayon heavily borrows from these regions respective, tonal origins and boldly mixes club music born in Midwest and global dance sanctuaries. As an organizer of the Molasses Collective, excellent experimentation through musical connection is central both to their musicianship and cultural craft. Mayon’s music and their cultural organizing has been featured in them, Chicago Block Club, Chicago Reader, and Rave Scout.
