Born in Cali, Colombia and raised in New York City, DJ and producer Hovy is a steadily making his mark in electronic music. His journey into sound began while studying Film and Cinematography, where a sound design course sparked a deeper fascination with audio and music creation. That experience led him to immerse himself in sound design and scoring, creating original work for a wide range of visual projects including films, fashion editorials, and commercial productions. Through this process, Hovy collaborated with artists and creatives at all levels worldwide, shaping a detailed and cinematic approach to sound that continues to influence his music today. Hovy’s sets are the perfect blend of class, merging his South American roots with his New York City upbringing, which is steeped in r&b, hip hop, jazz funk, house, and techno. His sound defies expectations, merging global electronic influences into something fresh, refined, and sophisticated all at once. Since 2019, Hovy has released six albums, building a reputation as a relentless creator on the rise, with releases on respected labels such as Nervous Records and Moodchild.
