It resulted in a first release in 2014 on the dutch imprint MORD that got him a lot of attention and paved the way for many collaborations between the two. A couple more EPs and his first album "Life" showed his love for a diverse sound palette but a constant attention for the groove. That naturally led to the creation of "Body Theory" in 2016, his own space to experiment and push his vision further. « Industrial funk » as a motto, it explores a more textured music with UVB’s trademark groove and style. On the DJing front, touring worldwide helps him develop his own approach to mixing, often melting different musical universes together juggling between 3 or 4 tracks at once, drawing a parallel between his DJ and producer mind. Wanting to expand his skills as a musician and a performer, he also starts performing brand new material live with hardware all around the world. As for now, he is preparing the launch of a new musical chapter in his career, «SHIV» , the logical follow-up label to Body Theory, always staying true to his orignal vision of techno.Their RA profile lists !Organism, Monnom Black, Mord, Falling Ethics and 6 more.often with Berghain, GLOBUS, TRESOR, none of them here that night

Mareena's deep connection with electronic music began in her early teenage years in East Germany, where she experienced the quaking rise of techno. Growing up amidst youth club culture and underground parties in abandoned buildings, she was shaped by the no-nonsense, freedom-oriented spirit of the post-communist era. But it was when she moved to Berlin in 2004, that she started DJing, and the city and its vigorous nightlife contributed immensely to her understanding as an artist. Musically spoken, her roots branch deep into the spirit and sound of dub techno and pre and early 2000s techno productions. Adding to this foundation, Mareena has developed a statement sound characterized by rhythmic, lively, and non-linear beats that create an unrelenting flow of energy on the dancefloor. This foundation has earned a long-standing residency (since 2012) in the techno institution Tresor, which stands for a similar ethos. Authentic, but always evolving. Her ability to include hard and elegant elements into her vinyl-oriented sets has led her to play at renowned clubs across the globe - Berghain, De School, Faust Seoul or for the Bunker New York events. Mareena brings that club spirit also to life at the festivals she played, ranging from the cutting edge Up To Date Festival to ravier happenings like the Third Room and not to forget her ambient appearances like at Mostra Barcelona. As opposites are necessary to create balance and harmony, another facet of Mareena’s DJing is the subtle and evocative touches of her ambient sets. Mindfulness, slowing down and the art of contemplation are equally important to Mareen than the dancefloor euphoria. This has led her to found the event series, podcast and label UNRUSH in 2016. Unrush focuses on different hues of ambient music and therefore likes to be a counterpoint to today's fast-paced society. Mareena's career extends beyond DJing into production, too. Productions, that celebrate her love of synthesizers and don't stick to any of the classic genre boxes. So far, Mareena has released on labels like Muzan Editions, Tresor, and her imprint, Unrush. Her collaborative album with JakoJako, "Atlas Der Gedanken," is dedicated to different shades of ambient that make the listener reflect inwards and gaze outwards simultaneously through its organic and electronic touches. Mareena's credibility and authenticity, paired with a daring style, make her a key presence in today’s electronic music culture and carry its spirit forward.Their RA profile lists Tresor, Unrush and Muzan Editions.often with TRESOR, GLOBUS, Berghain, none of them here that night

Having cut his teeth over the last decade coming up through Brooklyn’s warehouse scene, NYC-based Auspex has solidified himself as a regular fixture and contributor to its underground techno community, a DJ, producer, label boss and tireless organizer very much at home in the city's vibrant queer nightlife scene. Having made regular appearances over the years at such legendary parties like The Bunker, Merge and Unter, he soon found himself at the helm of the transcendent party ALTÆR when Basement emerged onto the club-scape. Now six years running, ALTÆR has become known for its immersive and music-driven line-ups, pulling the together some of the world’s best international techno and house talents. He’s also made frequent appearances in Berlin at venues like RSO , Griessmuehle and most recently Berghain, as well as appearances at underground functions like Pornceptual, Gegen and STAUB. Most recently, he launched his own techno imprint Templum to showcase his production work and some of the hottest and most prolific producers of hypnotic and raw techno working in the industry today. With a healthy and robust release calendar already in the pipeline, Templum is poised to become a major source of dance floor fire power in the months and years ahead. Musically, Auspex conjures techno as a space of collective hypnosis—with sets that move with fluid precision and driving percussion through intergalactic expanses, leading dancers through spiraling grooves and sensory depth, shaping an experience that’s equal parts body ritual and psychedelic voyage. As a classically-trained multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, his compositions are in infused with narrative tension and a rambunctious mischief, driving dance floors to bedlam and then back again.Their RA profile lists Soma Records, Diffuse Reality, Whirlwind Trax, Oath and 2 more.Recently at Knockdown Center, Bossa Nova Civic Club, BASEMENT · often with Ne/Re/A, Juana, Boris, none of them here that night
“Bézier is a ripple.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Bézier is a ripple. Bézier is a synth-organic proto-techno trip: an analog vision of club-floor futures, a journey of kinetic movement through embodied sound. You might know Robert Yang from Berlin, his home base since 2018, where you'll find him disseminating the electric catechism in places like Zur Klappe, a former subway toilet transformed into an underground nightclub. Or you might know him from his previous home, San Francisco, where he spent 14 years as a core member of the queer DJ collective Honey Soundsystem. Yang and the Honey crew threw a party every Sunday night for five years in a row—that's 260 parties, but who's counting?—and toured the globe, while running an eponymous record label that released music by Patrick Cowley, Octo Octa, Vin Sol, and beyond. Or you might know him simply as Bézier, the alias through which he's issued a dozen-plus records of livewire dance music crafted from rippled synths, crackling drums, and a songwriter's knack. Bézier's sound is the product of a lifelong obsession with electronic music. Experiments with MIDI on the family computer and DIY synth repair exposed Yang to synthesis at an early age. That led to a teenage obsession with Autechre and Björk, among others, and undergraduate courses in computer music. Finally came the accumulation of gear, vintage and modern, that powers Yang's sound design. Today, Bézier's tracks are tighter, more focused, and more dialed-in than ever. That's the result of the confidence Yang has earned as a producer and artist—the ability to pay attention to the things that matter and ignore what doesn't. These days, Bézier is back in the studio and at work on his own record label: Körperspannung, or K-SPAN for short. The phrase is German for "body tension"—a phrase Yang's partner Lennard, aka Len.Leo, would use to remind Yang to embody himself as an independent gay Asian musician, to stay strong, to be proud. That sums up the label's ethos: a celebration of creative electronic expression from within the gay community, and a home for music that steps outside the box and blurs the lines. After over 15 years in the game, that's Bézier's ethos, too. All you need to do is listen.Their RA profile lists Dark Entries, HNYTRX, Honey Soundsystem, Cin Cin and 6 more.Recently at Softee Paradise, public records, BASEMENT · often with electroponce, BrthrMidnyt, ACID BOGEN, none of them here that night
