“Kiernan Laveaux is a connective rhythmic energy conduit & ecstatic beat conductor from the Great Lakes.”

the whole biography
Kiernan Laveaux is a connective rhythmic energy conduit & ecstatic beat conductor from the Great Lakes. A boundless ball of discordant energy, she’s an adventurous spirit - conducting the vibrant forces of our world that are transmitted through the unbridled passion contained within her DJing. As a “one-of-a-kind American DJ”, she’s best known for her arcane technical skill, propulsive dancefloor catharsis, & hyper-creative approach behind the decks. Originating from within Cleveland's multiversal electronic underground, she materialized through the rhythms of life & her loved ones - inspired by forces of universal chaos, the experimentalism and joy found within midwestern electronic music, & the infamous In Training, Heaven is in You, Disco Paradiso parties manifested by herself & loved ones in Cleveland, she's since embarked on a lifelong journey of channeling binary dissolving phenomena throughout our known universe via her unbridled musical vitality & the multifaceted Sweet Abyss imprint. The music she plays is all-embracing & expansive, but unified by a restless sense of ecstatic momentum, dissonant euphoria, & kinetic exuberance - all woven together by entrancing pulsations of uninhibited groove & rhythmatic sensation. Over the past decade, her ethos of community building, passionate autonomy, and transportative psychedelia has grown to encompass the creators of possible worlds everywhere - releasing a vast array of mixes and live recordings available for your listening pleasure, as well playing iconic & transformative sets at worldwide rave destinations including Freerotation, Draaimolen, WHOLE United Queer Festival, an anarchist bookstore in Ohio, Honcho Campout, Return to the Source, a train car in Wisconsin, a woodworking studio in Oregon, a gas station turned into a restaurant in Texas, Club Toilet, Sustain-Release, a USPS shipping container in Virginia, a dub soundsystem club in Poland, and wherever else fun you’d love to have her play next.Techno on 3, Ambient on 2, Experimental on 2 and House on 2. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Dekmantel (1) and Real Blue Love Rips (1). labels on their catalogued releasesRecently at Mansions, Market Hotel, Good Room · often with Pamela_ and her sons, 30000AD, Nick Boyd, none of them here that night

Luca Mucci's output as Piezo revels in the hi-def synthetics of sound sculpting, pirouetting through off-kilter frameworks of total dance crud in a remarkable multiplicity of psychedelic variations. Cast from the embers of dubstep’s heyday and its UK bass counterpart experienced from his native home of Milan, he soon relocated to Bristol enjoying a temporary immersive spell in the city’s legendary sound system culture and vibrant alternative music community. Releases on seminal British labels Idle Hands, Swamp81 and Facta & K-Lone's Wisdom Teeth followed, plus a turn for Orson's Version imprint based out of Berlin. Ansia was founded by Piezo in the midst of this, a label acting as his creative appendage for wild dancefloor tools by himself and fellow club deviants characterised by a mischievous attitude and wry humour to both composition and sound design. It is currently 8 releases deep, featuring a mix of various artist compilations and solo turns from Luca himself, including 2023’s ‘Odd Hooks’ EP. Following that, he makes an exciting debut for kindred dance futurists Nervous Horizon with the ‘Cyclic Wavez’ EP. Remixes and V/A contributions inbetween continue a prolific release schedule. 2020 saw the release of Piezo’s debut album ‘Perdu’ on cult Milanese label Hundebiss, run by PAN affiliate STILL. His most substantial work to date, he channelled his myriad of influences into a versatile suite of tracks traversing technoid UK bass, hypnotic 4th-world textures and heavy sound-design. That same year saw Luca become a participant in the SHAPE roster, a Creative Europe-supported platform for innovative music and audiovisual art, while he also separately collaborated with Milanese artist duo Invernomuto on their BlackMed multimedia project. Piezo weighs all of these influences and experiences together with a ferocious appetite for perc-y wrigglers in his celebrated DJ sets and mixes. Applying his limitless ideology to open ended dancefloor narratives, he traverses quite wild bpms and styles with a remarkable flair best exemplified in sets at Terraforma Festival and Nowadays NYC, and mixes for Crack Magazine, Animalia and DjMag.Their RA profile lists Idle Hands, Swamp 81, version, No Corner and 6 more.Recently at Nowadays, public records · often with OK Williams, Ayesha, Vlada, none of them here that night

Raw Unkut was born with a musical predisposition, experimenting with various instruments throughout school before discovering the dance floor as a teenager. She began DJing hip-hop with friends at the age of 22 with some local parties in her hometown of Kyiv, Ukraine before making the natural cycle through techno, electro, and breakbeat, until she arrived with her true love, drum and bass. Since inception, Raw Unkut has maintained a priory as a dancer first and a DJ second. Once she discovered drum n bass, she been expanding the boundaries of the genre as a selector ever since. A force to be reckon with on the dance floor and in the booth, a resident of 20ft Radio and the infamous Jugendhub club in Kyiv, Headznite and Uklon party series in NYC. 'Raw' and 'Unkut' wasn't dubbed inaptly as it fits the sound, the style and the execution; be ready to sweat, groove and ride some bass waves on some high level bpm, just don't forget to drink some water.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Nowadays, The Meadows · often with Rage.inald, Love Letters, Don-Ri, none of them here that night

“Alongside the usual glittering suspects, New York City is also home to plenty of lesser- known treasures.”

Alongside the usual glittering suspects, New York City is also home to plenty of lesser- known treasures. Frantz is one such hidden gem; both a DJ’s DJ and a dancer’s delight. An encyclopedic knowledge of music informs his instinctive understanding of what to play when in nightclubs, listening bars, and everything in between as he stealthily stakes out a reputation as one of New York’s finest selectors. As well as gracing the booth at some of the city’s best venues including Mansions, Eavesdrop, Gabriela, Nightmoves and Milagrosa, Frantz has also charmed crowds as far afield as Mexico City, Napoli, Berlin and Houston, introducing varied audiences to all the records they didn’t know they needed to hear. Born in Brooklyn to Haitian parents, Frantz immersed himself in the local music scene from an early age. While still in high school, he interned at Astralwerks , where free tickets to see acts such as Basement Jaxx and Fatboy Slim whet his appetite for electronic music. Obsessively listening to BBC Radio 1 (Annie Nightingale’s Annie on One and the Essential Mix) and watching taped episodes of MTV’s electronic music show Amp further stoked this growing passion. The first record he bought was Alan Braxe’s “Vertigo” on Roulé, showing early signs of his sophisticated tastes. Circa 2000, one of Frantz’s Astralwerks bosses taught him how to spin vinyl, and after just a couple of lessons he was off and running. Following a heavy UKG and dubstep phase he eventually came around to disco, eschewing more commercial modern fare in favour of esoteric ‘70s releases. Working at the The Thing vintage and record store in Greenpoint deepened Frantz’s appreciation of New York classics, Chicago house, Detroit techno, Italo, and synth pop, and is also where he met a gang of fellow music nerds with whom he played his earliest gigs at East River Bar in Williamsburg. A few radio mixes came next, including a hot live mix for “A Downtown Affair” on WNYU showcasing Frantz’s sweetest spot —obscure but alluring disco cuts that spark dancefloor abandon. His own production work, including a disco-sleaze edit released on Death on Wax, seeks to do the same. During five years spent in Mexico City, Frantz played all the coveted parties and clubs including Sunday Sunday, Yu Yu, Departamento, Pervert, and Por Detroit. He also nabbed a slot at the inaugural edition of Fascinoma Festival, headlined by Larry Heard, DāM-FunK, Kode9 and Galcher Lustwerk, regularly appeared on Aire Libre FM radio station and was tapped to play private events for clients including Apple Music x Soho House, Vans, and a variety of Mexican-based brands. While briefly living in Europe, he played a beach bar in Napoli (with Paris-based Pitaya Soundsystem) and Berlin house parties when the pandemic permitted it, then headed back to New York with renewed focus on scaling up his DJing around the city (Paragon & FERAL, a leatherqueer fetish night where he indulged his love of industrial, EBM and post-punk) while daytiming as a buyer at Academy Records in the East Village. In 2023, Frantz forged a four-strong collective called Dancers Trust, throwing intimate club nights for discerning ears. In 2024, Frantz enjoyed his biggest year to date, DJing at Nowadays (Outdoors), Elsewhere, Milagrosa, a Tiki Disco afterparty at Gabriela, and getting booked to play at boutique private parties interstate. His popular mid-year mix for There Is No Planet Earth was a spicy, genre-jumping exhibit of Frantz at his eclectic best, and he capped off the year with an appearance on Joshua Cordova's Memory Screen on Tbilisi-based Mutant Radio. Whether he’s playing heavy disco, percussion-laden techno, house, or ravey breaks, Frantz is guided by one key principle — never be lukewarm about anything. If he doesn’t love it, you won’t hear it. If he does, chances are you’ll love it too.Balearic on 1, Disco on 1, Euro-Disco on 1 and New Beat on 1. styles on their catalogued releasesRecently at Elsewhere, Danger Danger, Doris · often with Danny Ramos, Dante Scaglione, IBM Doily, none of them here that night
