Firungi (“foreigner” in Hindi) is a Brooklyn-based artist, producer and creative director exploring modern identity through rhythm. Rooted in global percussion and long-form club music, his sets are built as journeys — shaped by instinct, contrast and an ability to read the room rather than follow a fixed formula. His sound treats the dancefloor as cultural ritual rather than genre, drawing from a broad percussive language that has earned support from Keinemusik, Damian Lazarus, Bedouin, Dennis Cruz, Jyoty, and more alongside releases including MoBlack and Black Book Records. Beyond music, Firungi operates as a broader cultural project through Fly Foreign Records and limited-run clothing capsules — extensions of the same idea: movement as identity, rhythm as common ground. Leg Room have individually been playing records in their own homes and private parties for years. The two have a wide range of tastes and neither like being boxed into one category. The pandemic forced them into a situation where they were living together where they realized their collections provide a nice balance to each other. Leg Room was born out of a passion for creating space for friends to dance since that's what Leg Room are, friends. In the second half of 2023 they were given a residency at Outer Heaven in Manhattan, NY and moved the party outside of private spaces and into the club.
