Armand Jakobsson is the artist known as DJ Seinfeld, Rimbaudian and Birds of Sweden. Under these aliases you’ll find sweeping emotive cuts, verdant dancefloor workouts and discerning dips into jungle and breaks. Releases have come on respected labels including Meda Fury, Ectotherm, UN.T.O and Lobster Fury: the collaborative label from Lobster Theremin and Meda Fury begun for the explicit purpose of releasing his tracks. DJ Seinfeld’s beats are ultimately guided by an idea of authenticity, true to the spirit of the early house pioneers and the unabashed rawness the confines of their equipment demanded. A lot’s been made of this lo-fi fuzz, with many clamoring to declare it a scene, but he won’t be put into a box. His path is his own. A microphone picks up the tension and release of a singer: charged with emotion, the machine can’t handle it. The rough edges of his productions emit the same sensibility. Footage of his gigs or their post-show reaction exemplifies the reception he gets as a DJ. Biographies often claim a DJ regularly ‘sends crowds into rapture’ or ‘lays waste to the floor,’ but in DJ Seinfeld’s case pandemonium is the default. Mixes show his deft control of build-up and feel in the booth, while his mini series for legendary London station Rinse FM in May ‘DJ Seinfeld presents...’, was a master class in the kind of wonky left-field house he peppers his sets with. Armand began making music in Edinburgh at the suggestion of a respected friend. Time spent experimenting with music and exploring the possibilities contained within his laptop was cathartic relief from the grind of finishing his studies. Later returning to his hometown of Malmo, his interest in making music would intensify thanks to encouragement from his old school friends and a the looming spectre of a 9-5 lifestyle. A move to Barcelona and the end of a relationship resulted in extended sessions watching the classic American sitcom and the music made to reflect that appeared under the name DJ Seinfeld. Rimbaudian already had traction and DJ Seinfeld was really intended as a side-project to exorcise emotions felt at that time. At first, tracks appeared on music-sharing groups online but he didn’t claim ownership, despite the growing buzz. When his friend Courtesy’s label Ectotherm began asking who the mysterious producer was, he began to take note. Then before long, Lobster Theremin and Meda Fury followed suit. The point of no return though came one evening spent with Ableton and a few beers. The track ‘U’ was uploaded to Soundcloud, and the internet went into overdrive. Sampling Bob Geldoff’s account of his split with his wife, amid soaring chants and keys wrought in heartache, ‘U’ is almost voyeuristic in its honesty. It’s that truth, that realness, that defines what Armand’s music is about.Their RA profile lists Ninja Tune, Domino, Lobster Theremin, Meda Fury and 3 more.Recently at 99 Scott Ave · often with Kiyoshi, Physical Therapy, Baltra, none of them here that night
“A triple threat who lights up a room when behind the decks, in the studio and on stage, TORIBIO is a lifelong student of rhythm.”

A triple threat who lights up a room when behind the decks, in the studio and on stage, TORIBIO is a lifelong student of rhythm. Analyzing melodies and chords with a musician's ear, the Dominican-American artist blends different genres and moods in all his creative pursuits–DJing, producing, singing, playing instruments, and even his skills on the mic. Thanks to a childhood spent playing in church and jazz drumming, the Florida-born, New York-based act has a natural sense of harmony. He takes on the role of musical cartographer in his Afro-Latin band, Conclave, whose debut album was named one of Resident Advisor's best in 2021 and praised by both Rolling Stone and the New Yorker. Acting as the ensemble's bandlander, vocalist, and key instrumentalist, TORIBIO connects jazz, soul, and house from various cultures with style and grace. His speciality in sonic connections are especially tangible in his DJing. Gliding from pan-Latin club to raw electro to jazz to old-school funk, his sets are a masterclass in building energy and tension. Whether playing Boiler Room or clubs in Mexico City and Tokyo, he knows how to work a crowd with selections and transitions that are as precise as they are powerful. As a producer, his edits and originals are DJ weapons, rinsed by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Rich Medina, and Theo Parrish. His original tracks have been remixed by the likes of Louie Vega, Joe Claussell, and DJ Spinna. Known for fostering community through movement, his Brooklyn block parties (Public Service NYC) embody the spirit of New York’s dance culture while his newly formed imprint B.D.A. is quickly becoming known for bringing these vibes to vinyl. A TORIBIO show is a full-body experience— as he always says, “bring dat ass, and your feet will follow.”House on 16, Deep House on 6, Disco on 6 and Downtempo on 6. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on BDA (4) (2) and Bastard Jazz Recordings (1); their RA profile also lists BBE, Fool's Gold, Darker Than Wax, Razor-N-Tape and 4 more. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Nowadays, H0L0, Locust Grove · often with Mickey Perez, Love Injection, MUSCLECARS, none of them here that night

Egyptian-born, Detroit-based producer and DJ Insane Who Sane is shaping a genuine sound through his label House of Wadjet Records. With releases that seamlessly blend elements of techno, house, and neo-soul, his music stays true to the label's guiding philosophy of "Ancient Future Music"—a sonic vision that honors the past while boldly pushing electronic music into new territories. ORIGINS & JOURNEY Born in Giza, Egypt, Insane Who Sane moved to the United States to pursue his passion for music. His journey began in New York City in 2007, where he established himself as a DJ known for throwing magical after-hours experiences that captivated the underground scene. While in NYC, working at Halcyon Record Store and the renowned Output Club, immersed him in the city's rich electronic music culture. DETROIT EVOLUTION In 2017, his career took a transformative turn after relocating to Detroit, the birthplace of techno. A five-year tenure running Transmat Records, where he contributed to A&R efforts and helped shepherd ten releases from the iconic label. This period proved formative as he absorbed the deep history and pioneering spirit of Detroit techno. During that period he worked closely with the likes of Drummer B, Scan 7, Biz, Jon Hester, Hiroshi Watanabe and many more. Concurrently, Insane Who Sane served as a resident DJ at The Griot Music Lounge, a Black vinyl lounge dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich legacy of Black music. His curatorial talents also extended to the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, where he took on the role of sound curator, further cementing his status as a thoughtful voice in Detroit's cultural landscape. While at MOCAD he was the resident DJ for the legendary Techno Brunch Series which featured some of Detroit’s greatest; Stacey Hotwaxx, Norm Talley, John Collins, Delano Smith and many more. HOUSE OF WADJET RECORDS In 2022, Insane Who Sane established House of Wadjet Records, creating a platform to fully express his unique sonic vision. The label's debut release, "Come Back to Me EP," paid homage to the early Detroit and Chicago sound while infusing it with futuristic elements—a marriage of deep house and techno that evokes "the spirit of the early Chicago and Detroit records but adds a futuristic perspective." The label's sophomore release, "Keep Pushin Aun EP," featuring Detroit songstress DePeila, further expanded his artistic territory, venturing into the realm of neo-tech soul music. This collaboration showcased his ability to blur genre boundaries while maintaining a coherent aesthetic vision. With each release, Insane Who Sane continues to forge new pathways in electronic music, using House of Wadjet Records as a vehicle to voice his "visions of solitude through music" while building upon the rich foundations of Detroit's musical heritage. Insane Who Sane is currently resident at Soul Tone, a monthly party at The High Dive. He is also the brains behind Sound Surge, a true Detroit after party.Their RA profile lists House of Wadjet Records.Recently at H0L0 · often with Rissa Garcia, NIGELTHREETIMES, Dirtyfinger, none of them here that night
