C Powers’ sound is informed by years spent collecting records in Atlanta and Chicago, honing crowd control skills in the foggy clubs of London, fostering queer dancing spaces and performing as DJ for the House Of Gunt in Savannah GA, and solidarity dance nights in Portland OR. Cecilia’s sets and releases combine elements of gay camp, anti-sophistication, extended turntable technique, and a sense of juxtaposition molded by a DJ career that has strayed from the traditional “club” spaces. Cecilia has been heavily active in anti-displacement advocacy beginning with organizing rent strikes with undocumented families in LA and currently working to build the tenant movement in Portland. Cecilia became a co-founding member of People’s City Council and then Don’t Evict Portland, and the experiences she’s had behind the decks and in organizing spaces have begun to meld as she has explored bringing music into the organizing space and weaponizing audio for disruption.Their RA profile lists CGI Records, Alliance Upholstery, Sweat Equity NYC, Sorry Records and 2 more.often with Fugitive Artifact, PlayPlay, XXHARDBIT3S, none of them here that night

"Doula is known for her unpredictable range and sound collage approach to DJing with an unyielding vision of dance music as a source of tantric mayhem. She crafts intense, psychedelic, often crazy-making sets that disregard expectations of genre, functionality, tempo, cadence, or respectability. Between his own DJing and his work behind Sorry Records, Nick Boyd has become something of a staple of the New York’s club circuit. Behind the boards, he pairs old-school house and techno sounds with a more new-school kitchen-sink mentality. He plays with reverence but without idolatry, paying homage to his favorite scenes without tying himself to them. A hopeless devotee and passionate fixture of the New York City rave underground, Nick is the founder of beloved Brooklyn based DIY label Sorry Records which has been putting out records from a wide variety of stand out folks from the American dance music underground for over in half a decade now. Nick is a long time resident on both The Lot Radio and 8 Ball Radio and has contributed mixes to Honcho Podcast, Rinse FM, and Spontaneous Affinity. He currently runs a monthly Sorry Records residency at Brooklyn techno institution Bossa Nova Civic Club and has played everywhere from Nowadays to North Carolina’s Slingshot Festival, Good Room to beloved Pittsburgh queer rave Jellyfish, FOURTH WORLD to long running Boston-based house music institution Social Studies, as well as made multiple appearances at The Carry Nation’s legendary residency party in NYC. Nick also occasionally writes about music and interviews artists for Love Injection, Crack Magazine, The Fader, and Bolting Bits. ---------------------------------------- Clubs: Nowadays, Bossa Nova Civic Club, ANIMAL, Good Room, Paragon, Mansions, Jupiter Disco, House of Yes, H0L0, Good Life Bar (Boston), The Listening Club (Chicago), Glen Falls House, The Deep End, Good Bar, ... One of New York's hardest working crews, and a bottomless well of support for the city's scene." - Sweat Equity “As the boss of Sorry Records – one of New York’s finest contempo dance labels – Nick Boyd has been giving multiple leg-ups to a fresh wave of producers like Tony G, C Powers, DJ Wawa and Olive T.” – Chal Ravens, The Face “Over the past five years Sorry Records has been both a bedrock and beneficiary of New York City’s fertile scene.” — Gabriel Szatan, Beatportal "A currently indispensable NYC label" - Piotyr Orlov, Dada Strain “Since its foundation in 2015, Sorry Records has become a critical outpost in New York’s dance-music scene. The label balances an unwavering commitment to the city’s dance music history with a dead-serious approach to having a good time. Their best material seems like it could have come out in the ‘90s, were it not for the of-the-moment production techniques and references in the liner notes.” - Michael McKinney, Passion of the WeissTheir RA profile lists Sorry Records.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club, The Chocolate Factory, Jupiter Disco · often with Russell E.L.
