Akanbi is heading a new generation of dedicated ravers in New York City. Raised in Lagos, Nigeria, with limited access to the internet but a huge thirst for new music, Akanbi moved to NYC in 2010 and immersed himself head on into every corner of dance music, as a serious dancer and, eventually, a DJ and rave activator. He’s cultivated his unique style of DJing that delivers an intentional blend of freak-out boogie music, sensual rollers, whip-crack bangers, insistent percussion, afrobeat goodness, deep thumping low frequencies & slow-burning experimental descents. In 2014, he started New York City's GROOVY GROOVY party - a judgment-free atmosphere for wild dance floors, spiritual, mental & physical rejuvenation, radical politics, and a dose of undeniably rocking talent. Akanbi has made an impression with visionary sets across the globe at select spaces like Guggenheim Museum, Sustain Release, Nowadays, Dekmantel, Horst, OIL Club Shanghai, WWW Tokyo, Berghain/Panorama Bar, Corsica Studios, Primavera Sound Barcelona et al.Recently at Camp Kennybrook, Nowadays, Bossa Nova Civic Club · often with /KATA/, The Large, Ayanna Heaven, none of them here that night

Ayesha is a key player in Brooklyn's dance music scene, and has become one of NYC's most prominent names when it comes to faster, more-bass heavy sounds in New York. Her approach to DJing and production blends elements of America's techno underground with leftfield UK sounds and diasporic influences from her Indian heritage, moving across tempos and rhythms with ease. Her music, hypnotic, pulsating and powerful, is as at home at a deep forest festival as it is a sweaty basement or dark nightclub, made with meticulous sound design, spongy textures and alien melodies. She writes tracks with deliberate consideration for how bodies move—and how music moves bodies—which makes her work unusually tactile and physical. "Beautiful things emerge from our care and consistent attention," she says about her work, which she also calls "body over mind." Everyone else calls it brilliant. She's put out music on Scuffed Recordings and Kindergarten Records, the latter of whom released her debut album, Rhythm is Memory, in 2022. DJ Mag called it "a revelation," Resident Advisor a "fierce mission statement" and Mixmag placed her at number two in its list of the 25 Producers Who Defined 2023. Later this year, she'll make her live set debut at MUTEK Festival in Montreal, hinting at an exciting new chapter for a dynamic force in American dance music.Their RA profile lists Fever AM, Scuffed Recordings, Femme Culture, Control Freak Records and 2 more.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Nowadays · often with Mor Elian, DJ DEADNAME, Ma Sha, none of them here that night

Heavily influenced by innovators such as Throbbing Gristle and Floorplan, their productions encapsulated sounds that were inspired by the UK and Detroit, and were complimented with live spoken word. After moving to Berlin in 2016, they transitioned from performance art to DJing, where their sets on HÖR facilitated their breakthrough as a DJ. Having drawn inspiration from early industrial and techno pioneers, x3butterfly’s sets retain a raw and ominous quality, with a club twist. Prioritizing the eclectic, they often aim to take listeners on a story-telling journey while simultaneously keeping them on the dance floor. Their sets combine jungle, drum and bass, R&B, dubstep, techno, and other world sounds at 140-160 BPM. x3butterfly has played in various clubs in Mexico, Germany, Denmark, Greece, as well as a multitude of cities in the US. They have quickly become a rising NYC star, DJing notorious NYC venues such as Bossa Nova, Mood Ring, and Nowadays.
