Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, @SteenSchmidt is a house and techno DJ, blues rock guitar player, and singer. He has performed in clubs, bars, and toured statewide. He has recorded as a songwriter, guitarist, and singer since he was 13 years young. Along with clubbing since he was 18, Steen is familiar with the NYC underground scene. Years later, he began djing parties and venues around Brooklyn having residencies at Happyfun Hideaway, SILO, Rash, and many more. Steen hosts open decks at SILO for over a year, and also at Happyfun Hideaway for over three years, in which he collaborates with many local DJs to help many beginner DJs get experience or get used to playing live. His party series Debauch has featured artists Frankie Bones, Kush Jones, Concrete Husband, S'aint Panic, Alissa Brianna, SPF50, MZ3, and more in underground venues, SILO, Jupiter Disco, and Earthly Delights. Condor has been building dance floors for most of his life. At 12 years old he booked his first punk show and set the course for a career spent shaping underground music culture, often as the unseen hand and driving force behind clubs, collectives, festivals, and artists across two states. Behind the decks since 2013, the Michigan-born, Brooklyn-based DJ deals in purebred warehouse rhythms: a sound forged in Detroit's grit and sharpened on New York floors. He has supported Terrence Dixon and Inigo Kennedy, collaborates with the Transmute, MonkeyWrench NYC, and Diffusion crews, and holds it down as resident promoter at Ridgewood's H0L0. His devotion runs literal, too: Condor builds Turbosound rigs in NYC, engineering the systems his scene dances on. That lifetime of groundwork takes its clearest form in VØRA: an independent collective powered by friendship, trust, and a shared belief that music can create something greater than any one person.
