Dusky are London production duo Nick Harriman and Alfie Granger-Howell. The duo have asserted themselves as leaders of the UK underground. BBC Essential Mix of The Year contenders, DJ Mag cover stars, headliners everywhere from Berlin's Panorama Bar to London's Fabric, Dusky's story so far is one of constant forward motion and a uniquely universal appeal. The duo's breakthrough track was undoubtedly 2012's iTunes Dance Single Of The Year 'Flo Jam'. Signed by the label that broke Maya Jane Coles (Dogmatik), its deep grooves were hammered by everyone from Loefah, Joy Orbison and Boddika to Disclosure, Jamie Jones and Sasha, with even Calvin Harris getting in on the act. Since those formative releases marked them out as talents destined for the top, Dusky have pushed their sound forward every step of the way. There have been Italo bassline meets Belgian rave vibes on Running Back, rugged warehouse techno excursions on Loefah's School and classy melodic grooves on Anjunadeep. But, it was ‘Careless’ on Aus that cemented their place in the scene's hall of fame. Over 14 million streams, definitive UK house banger of its era and soundtrack to countless crack-ons ever since. In 2017, the duo launched their 17 Steps label, taking control of this unique identity and giving it the unrestricted platform it deserves. JOY, their debut album on the imprint, amassed over 6 million streams with ‘Eros’, the most streamed track on the LP, paving way for their new garage project Pressure. A musical excursion looking back to their formative years and early productions that were heavily influenced by UK and US garage. Whatever musical sub-strain Dusky turn their hands to, there is always a strong common thread - a signature depth and detailing. A stamp of quality, that makes for an instantly recognisable 'Dusky' sound.Their RA profile lists Aus Music, Domino, Dirtybird, Anjunadeep and 3 more.Recently at Elsewhere · often with After Wes, Dunne, fruitgrl, none of them here that night
“Few DJs can claim a journey as multifaceted as Kayper’s.”

the whole biography
Few DJs can claim a journey as multifaceted as Kayper’s. A South London native with deep roots in hip hop and turntablism, she grew up in a family of DJs and producers and began mixing records at just 11 years old. Drawing early inspiration from her cousin Nookie, a pioneering figure in jungle and drum & bass, she emerged in the early 2000s as a technically gifted selector. Over the years, her sound has evolved from intricate scratch routines and soulful edits to a darker, club-oriented palette that weaves together house, UK garage, breaks, and bass-driven techno. Cutting her teeth on the airwaves, Kayper spent seven years on BBC Asian Network and 1Xtra, championing music that blurred the lines between underground electronic scenes and diasporic rhythm cultures. But it’s in the booth where her instincts are most clearly felt: fluid, intuitive mixing anchored by a deep knowledge of both the classics and the cutting edge. She’s played Fabric, Ministry of Sound, and Coachella with the same precision she brings to a backroom in Brooklyn or a sweaty basement in Berlin. Her productions, released on labels like Hypercolour and Eton Messy, reflect the same versatility she brings to the booth - deep grooves, dusty textures, and a strong sense of movement. In 2025, she relaunched her label Futurebox under the name FTRBX, originally founded in 2010 during her time as a BBC presenter, with a renewed focus on darker, stripped-back sounds and forward-thinking club music. Her journey charts a clear progression: from turntablist to tastemaker, and from radio host to label head. Long-running and craft-driven, she remains a consistent presence in underground electronic music.Their RA profile lists Hypercolour and Spinnin' Records.Recently at Brooklyn Hangar, Razor-N-Tape Flagship Store · often with Kenny Dope, Mx. “James Juke came to house music far from home.”
their own biography
the whole biography
James Juke came to house music far from home. A year abroad in Buenos Aires at 19 introduced him to clubs for the first time, and in the span of a month, sets from Folamour, Honey Dijon, and Dusky made him understand that this music had infinite flavors and forms, and that understanding them was going to take time. Now based in Brooklyn, Juke has been shaped by the legacy of The Loft, deep house purists and the underground techno scene, all of it filtering into a singular sound. Rooted in disco, soul, and the sampling lineage that connects early house to hip-hop, his sets move through jackin', vocal-driven house and raw, hypnotic tech house. Drawn to DJs like Eris Drew, Octa Octa, and Cinthie as much as the classic house canon, Juke thinks as much like a curator as a DJ. Whether digging for sets or samples, his growing collection of music leans towards tracks you can't easily find on streaming platforms and records that haven't been digitized. Production came later, and in the least glamorous way possible. During the pandemic, Juke downloaded Logic and spent a year teaching himself entirely by ear. No tutorials, no guidance, just samples. Eventually that work found its way to Demuir, who gave him monthly feedback sessions that sharpened what he was building. Releases followed on Nervous, Robsoul, and Rek'd, alongside more experimental work, including A Little Lost, a collab-driven EP that deliberately stepped outside the club context to explore what the music could be. His sets carry the same curiosity. Whether playing a 150-cap room or a main stage, Juke's approach is shaped by a genuine respect for the history he's drawing from: Paradise Garage, Music Box, and The Sound Factory. He's shared lineups with Mike Dunn, Harry Romero, Inland Knights, and Dam Swindle; his music has earned the attention of Disclosure, who have supported his development and given direct feedback on his work. A-Trak released his music and has been a collaborator and subject of his long-running interview podcast, The Juiceboxx. And for his party, The Jukeboxx, he’s hosted NY’s best: Dee Diggs, Kim Anh, Devoye, Cosmo, Lovie, and MomaReady. None of it was planned. It still isn't. And that's the point.House on 20, Nu-Disco on 4, Disco on 2 and Contemporary R&B on 1. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Madame Gold (2), The Disco Express (1) and snackwax (1); their RA profile also lists Nervous Records, Rek'd, 17 Steps and Toucan Sounds. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at The Chocolate Factory, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Jewel Yacht · often with gabby cocco, Bakke, Very J, none of them here that night
