As president and founder of Nervous Records, Mike Weiss aka Mike Nervous has been instrumental in bringing light to some of the most iconic and genre-defining nightlife anthems. Highlights from Nervous’ 35 year history include the debut release from Masters At Work as Nuyorican Soul / The Nervous Track, the debut release from Armand Van Helden, the debut American release from Paul Van Dyke, along with seminal house anthems like Winx / Don’t Laugh, Byron Stingily / Get Up Everybody, Kerri Chandler / Rain, Loni Clark / Rushing, Sandy B / Feel Like Singing, Kim English / Nightlife, as well as multiple releases from House Music legends like Todd Terry, Roger Sanchez, Mood II Swing, Felix Da Housecat, DJ Pierre and many more. In addition in the 90’s Nervous created subdivisions called Nervous/Wreck and Nervous/ Weeded that discovered Black Moon, Smif-n-Wessun, Funkmaster Flex and Mad Lion and released debut singles and albums from those artists that are an essential addition for any hip hop fan’s collection. More recently in 2024 and 2025 Nervous released some of the world biggest club tunes including Loofy’s “Last Night,” Mau P’s “The Less I Know The Better” and Mochakk’s “Da Fonk feat. Joni.” The The Iconic logo of the dj with a record going through his head is known world-wide and will forever represent the sounds of New York City from this past 35 year period (and still going!) As a DJ Mike Nervous has played at every iconic venue in New York City including The Brooklyn Mirage, Output, Pacha, Cielo, Superior Ingredients, Silo, The Great Hall, Kings Hall. Born and raised in Barinas-Venezuela, Luquez began his DJ career at the early age of 16. Inspired by the music itself and its effect on people, he worked his way through to master the art of creating an atmosphere where people could not only enjoy his music but also connect with each other. “The energy I get from the audience every time a play a sound is a unique connection that drives me to work as hard as I can to support and help grow the underground electronic music culture wherever I am”. As one of the founders of the Techno/House scene at his home town he became a reference for the latin techno community not only in Venezuela but also in other countries in Latin-America. He has shared the stage with renowned international DJs such as Tony Guerra (Venezuela), Jean Pierre (USA), Shahar (Israel), Daniel Orpi (Spain), Vanjee (Israel), Harvy Valencia (Colombia), Patrick Groove (USA), Fronter (Colombia), ItaloBros (Italy), Robbie Rivera (USA), Rob Sperte (USA), Neverdogs (Italy), Carlo Lio (Canada), Boris (USA), Victor Calderone (USA), Oscar G (USA), Pablo Ceballos (Spain), Nicole Moudaber (Lebanon) and more. “My sets are energy driven, I want to see everybody dancing and having a good time, there’s no one standing still while I’m performing” His sets offer an impeccable selection of harmonic techno and house sounds fused with his own latin music roots establishing a distinctive sound which has given him international recognition. Currently he is based in Brooklyn, NY and is becoming a very familiar face to the best underground techno/house parties throughout the city.
