BIOGRAPHY 2026 With a career spanning more than three decades, Mousse T. is widely regarded as one of Germany’s most influential and internationally acclaimed DJs, producers, songwriters, and label owners. A proud Hanoverian with a global reach, he has built a unique musical identity that effortlessly connects house, funk, soul, disco, and jazz, balancing underground credibility with worldwide commercial success. Mousse T. first gained international recognition in the late 1990s with genre-defining tracks such as “Horny” and “Is It ’Cos I’m Cool”, records that helped shape modern house music and continue to resonate on dancefloors today. His career reached a historic milestone when he co-wrote and produced “Sex Bomb” for Sir Tom Jones, a global hit that not only topped charts but also became one of the most successful late-career reinventions of a pop icon. The record secured Mousse T. a permanent place in music history and demonstrated his rare ability to fuse timeless funk energy with contemporary club culture. Over the years, Mousse T. has collaborated with an exceptional range of artists, including Quincy Jones, Roy Ayers, Randy Crawford, Byron Stingily, Andreya Triana, and many others. His work has been honored with a Grammy nomination and the prestigious Ivor Novello Award, recognizing his outstanding achievements as a songwriter and composer. His influence within the global house community was further confirmed when Traxsource named him House Artist of the Year in both 2018 and 2020. Central to his artistic vision is Peppermint Jam Records, the independent label he founded nearly 30 years ago. The label, which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, has earned worldwide respect for its consistency, musical integrity, and long-term cultural relevance, standing as a testament to Mousse T.’s commitment to quality over trends. As a DJ and live performer, Mousse T. has built a formidable global reputation, performing at legendary venues and festivals such as Amnesia and Pacha Ibiza, Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Rex Club Paris, Cavo Paradiso Mykonos, Viper Room Los Angeles, and the Montreux Jazz Festival, where he has appeared with his live band. In the UK, he has also performed at KOKO London, one of the country’s most prestigious and culturally significant club venues. In 2025, he further reinforced his position at the forefront of international club culture through a highly successful residency with Glitterbox at Hï Ibiza, one of the world’s most influential club venues. The overwhelming response and consistently packed dancefloors have led to the residency being confirmed to continue into the following year. His current touring activity also includes major dates at Defected Croatia, Defected Malta, all Glitterbox activities for Germany, alongside recent performances in Mexico and upcoming tours across Australia and Asia. His recent collaboration with funk legend Bootsy Collins on the high-energy remix of “Bubble Pop” further underlines Mousse T.’s cross-generational appeal. Collins, reflecting on their long-standing connection dating back to their Warner Brothers days in Germany in the late 1990s, has described Mousse T. as an artist he first recognized for his creative vision and later admired for his producer skills in the studio. He has highlighted Mousse T.’s professionalism, his ability to ignite any party through his DJ sets, and his instinctive understanding of the dancefloor. According to Collins, Mousse T. was the natural first choice to rework “Bubble Pop” because of his deep knowledge of party culture, his constant awareness of what moves people, and the positive energy he brings by surrounding himself with good vibes. Beyond the studio and stage, Mousse T. continues to shape popular culture through television appearances, including his role as a judge on “Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS)”, where he impressed with his musical expertise. Most recently, he achieved a major international success at the Festival di Sanremo, securing a strong third-place finish with “Apri tutte le porte,” produced together with Jovanotti and Gianni Morandi, outperforming 22 competing entries. Despite his vast catalogue, Mousse T.’s artistic philosophy remains focused on feel and authenticity. For him, truly great records are defined by world-class vocals combined with a certain raw attitude in the production. Whether behind the decks, in the studio, or on stage with live musicians and orchestras, Mousse T. continues to deliver soulful, groove-driven music, proving why he remains one of the most enduring and respected forces in electronic music today. “Maria “Ri Ri” Garcia, known worldwide as Rimarkable, is not just a DJ, producer, and vocalist.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Maria “Ri Ri” Garcia, known worldwide as Rimarkable, is not just a DJ, producer, and vocalist. She is a cultural architect, an Afro-Puerto Rican powerhouse who has been shaping the sound and spirit of dance music for more than two decades. Brought up in Detroit, sharpened during childhood summers in Chicago, and thriving in New York City, Rimarkable embodies the full spectrum of the Black diasporic tradition—gospel, funk, soul, jazz, house, and techno, all transformed into electrifying soundscapes that ignite dance floors across the globe. Her story begins in the sanctified heat of a Pentecostal church, where her mother, a classically trained pianist and music minister, saturated her childhood with gospel harmonies and discipline. Summers in Chicago exposed her to the earliest pulse of house music, embedding in her DNA a rhythm that would later define her life. By 1997 she was on the decks, and by 2006, frustrated with the industry’s barriers and biases, she became her own producer, turning resistance into innovation and claiming complete autonomy over her craft. Since then, Rimarkable has built a singular career that bridges worlds. She has shared stages with legends including George Clinton, Madonna, Erykah Badu, Louie Vega, Honey Dijon, Roger Sanchez, Pete Tong, and Francois K, while simultaneously cultivating underground spaces that honor community, authenticity, and radical joy. Her long-running events in Detroit, New York, and San Francisco have become touchstones for dancers and DJs alike, curating nights that are as spiritual as they are explosive. In 2021 she joined the storied Defected Records family, cementing her place among global house music royalty. As a host of the weekly Defected Radio Show, she now reaches millions of listeners across more than 170 FM stations worldwide, bringing her distinctive voice and impeccable taste to an international audience. Beyond the booth, Rimarkable is a celebrated educator and thought leader. She serves as an Adjunct Professor at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute, and instructor at Waajeed’s Underground Music Academy, where she teaches her groundbreaking course series, “The Alchemy of DJing.” This work frames DJing as both art and ritual, blending technique, history, spirituality, and cultural analysis into a visionary curriculum, with raw truth and resources for navigating the scene as a business. She has presented versions of this lecture and workshop in Nairobi, Berlin, Yale, and the Queens Museum, underscoring her mission to expand dance music’s role as a vehicle for healing, liberation, and collective power. Rimarkable’s artistry is rooted in more than beats. It is about presence, justice, and transformation. Whether unleashing a thunderous techno set, layering vocals over soulful house grooves, or leading students through the metaphysics of rhythm, she approaches every arena with the same intent: to elevate. To remind us that music is ceremony. To preserve the roots of dance music while pushing it fearlessly forward. With releases on labels including Classic Music Company, Big Love, Club Bad, and her forthcoming imprint Betty Jean’s Dream, Rimarkable continues to expand her sonic universe. Each project is a testament to her philosophy that excellence, dignity, and artistry are not optional but essential. Detroit is her foundation, New York is her canvas, and the world is her stage. To experience Rimarkable is to step into a revolution of rhythm, where every beat is an invitation, every set is a sermon, and every dance floor becomes a sanctuary. This is more than music. This is Rimarkable.
