“Few artists embody the metaphor of life as a journey quite like Joyce Muniz.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Few artists embody the metaphor of life as a journey quite like Joyce Muniz. Born in Brazil and raised in Vienna, the DJ, producer, vocalist, and radio host is now based in Lisbon, after spending a decade in Berlin. She runs her studio and hosts a show on FM4, continuing to bridge cultures and scenes across Europe. She first made her mark at Vienna’s legendary Flex club as a DJ and MC before moving fully into production, releasing on leading labels including Exploited, Get Physical, Kompakt, Permanent Vacation, International DJ Gigolo, and Pets Recordings. Joyce also spent five years as a radio resident on Rinse FM UK, further cementing her presence across Europe’s electronic landscape. Joyce’s creative world has expanded significantly in recent years. She became the first woman to join Germany’s Synth Live orchestral project, taking her hybrid electronic–orchestral show across the country. Her 2023 album Zeitkapsel (“time capsule”) represented a major artistic leap and the launch of her own imprint, Joyce Muniz Music. The record revisited the sounds that shaped her — from trip-hop and downtempo to drum & bass, house, and electro — with highlights such as the Portuguese-spoken anthem “Arrivederci Bella.” A deep spiritual and artistic transformation also fuels her work. After overcoming cancer in her early 30s, Joyce returned to her Brazilian roots through plant-medicine traditions linked to her grandfather’s shamanism — a rebirth that continues to guide her creativity and purpose. During the pandemic she honed her technical craft, completed a Bachelor’s degree in radio presenting, and led workshops for Native Instruments, sharing her knowledge and creative approach with a new generation of producers. Her momentum has only accelerated. In 2024 she released “No Haters” with Renato Cohen on Permanent Vacation, followed by her breakout Kompakt debut “Beats & Lines” with Sara Bluma — a track that held the No.1 position on Beatport’s Indie Dance Chart for several weeks. In 2025 she returned with the Afro-electro single “Mo Dupe” on Exploited, a lo-fi Yoruba-inspired homage to gratitude, and the powerful Kompakt release “Hack The System” featuring Futuradora, blending electro energy with sharp socio-political commentary. In 2026, she continues to expand her artistic reach. She was invited to curate and create the Studio Hub — a program of workshops and masterclasses for the first edition of the Lisbon Dance Summit — further establishing her role as an educator and community builder. The year also opened with two standout releases on Kompakt: “The Freeze” with Mexican icon Andrés VII and “Quiero Tu Amor” with Chilean artist Alejandro Paz, both highlighting her dynamic collaborative spirit and global sound. On the road, Joyce tours nonstop across Europe, the Americas, and Brazil — where her achievements earned her a Mixmag cover feature. Joyce Muniz is an artist in constant evolution: a boundary-breaking producer, a magnetic DJ, a cultural connector, and a storyteller guided by rhythm, identity, and spirit. With new releases and collaborations ahead, her journey — already spanning continents, styles, and generations — is only just beginning.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
She kicked off her career in Portland, OR by establishing herself and her role in bringing esteemed artists through her monthly party Modern Ritual. Her talent has taken her across North America and Europe and has shared stages with acts such as Crazy P, Demi Riquisimo, DJ Boring, Soul Clap, Purple Disco Machine and many more. Living between Upstate NY and Brooklyn, she is focusing on contributing to a newly vibrant electronic music scene in the Hudson Valley where she founded Disco Chalet, a late night mid-winter party themed in vintage aprés ski disco. Her journey has recently evolved into music production by collaborating with long time friend Jesse Gay. The two have released two tracks with Soul Clap Records Exclusives breathing new life into some beloved 70's jams that you can find on Bandcamp. They are currently working on some original works to be released in 2026. Laura Lynn grew up in the small mountain town of Taos, New Mexico within a family of musicians. Her Dad, being Michael Martin Murphey and one of the founding artists of progressive country, music was in many parts of her life. At a young age she began collecting tapes and CDs and recorded mixtapes. She soon found a passion for rock, punk and metal and moved to Southern California in 2000. It was there she frequented clubs such as The Echo and Cinespace at the height of the indie dance and electroclash scene. These experiences peaked her interest in the crossover of rock and electronic music and eventually lead her to start DJing in 2009.
